I've seen both versions of this song that the Warning released and I liked the latter one the best, its well done and the addition of another singer works well, however I still think that Liliac's version is the best for me , of course I'm biased , but there's room for both bands to succeed and they are succeeding ,both are already famous, both are already professional ,but both are different and appeal to different audiences and that's how it should be . I think it depends on what you're measuring. I have also listened to all 3 versions (2 from Warning, 1 from Liliac), and on a technical proficiency measuring stick, it's no contest: Liliac. I have tried and tried to "get into" The Warning, but they don't sit with me. I think The Warning conveys a certain passion that appeals to people, similar to how Nirvana or Neil Young might be; they are not technically the best instrumentally, but they convey emotions that appeal to a certain audience. But objectively, The Warning is not that great; they have a good drummer, their guitarist/vocalist plays guitar about as well as I do, personally, which is decent, but relatively mediocre in the scheme of professionals. Vocally and guitar-wise, there is absolutely no contest between The Warning and Liliac; Liliac wins, hands down. Bass and drums they are probably close.

Abigail is more technical and hits with more power than Pau as far as drumming goes, Abigail also uses double kicks and double bass. Ethan and Ale use a 5-string bass but he also was a very good rhythm guitarist before he switched. Melody not only does vocals and has more range than Dany but Melody also played bass and she plays flute as well. Justin plays both keyboards and piano.
To make it a fair comparison, you should use this version of liliac vs the original sandman from the warning, not the new one with the added singer, that way it's band vs band no outside interference.
I really think you shouldn't compare the 2 they both have different approaches and both are great with the song and that's what music is really about there is something out there for everyone. There are people out There that only like TW and out there that only like Liliac plus you have people that like both like I said something for everyone.
As far as comparision videos go, I personally don't like them, especially with newer up and coming bands like Liliac and The Warning. Some crazed fans get way out of line with the comments and it causes in fighting at times. Usually the videos chosen to compare are not close enough to make any accurate comparisons. So many variables to compare. Maybe choosing "Enter Sandman" versions when The Warning was much younger to this version by Liliac is closer, but The Warning was so young then, that would probably be unfair to them. I was never a fan of The Warning until they got signed by Republic records. They upgraded them a lot in many ways. And both Ali and Dani have shown huge improvements. Pau was always there with her talents. Liliac on the other hand seemed to come out of the womb as being rock stars. Btw, I'm with you about Ethan, I hope to see him on guitar again, that is if he's been keeping up with it. That solo he play at 11 in "The Trooper" said it all at such a young age. On a side note, I just heard The Warning's song "Money" on my local radio stations in the Nj/NYC area. That won't happen for Liliac until they sign with a major Label, unfortunately. It's not right, but it is a fact. Corporate management in music will only give air time to artists with contracts. I like that Liliac is doing it all on their own, but as a fan who wants them to become a household name in rock music and make the next step to selling out big arenas, I know that won't happen until they make that tough decision to sign with a label like Republic records or of that stature. I was shocked when I heard my favorite NJ/NYC rock station raving about The Warning. At 1st I was upset, and was screaming you need to hear Lilac, but I also felt The Warning has come a long way. And just listening to the song on the radio after hearing all the other music the DJ was playing, I thought "Money" sounded pretty damn good. So kudos to The Warning, but I much rather hear Lilliac on the air waves.
Kind of hard to compare the two. If you like pop music better than heavy metal then the Warnings version is the way to go. Their version is different and good but IMO, Enter Sandman should be very powerful and heard loud, the way Liliac does it! And if you are going to compare time periods than the Warnings original version they did is a little more rocking than their newer version with Alesia Cara. All you will do with a comparison video is pit fan base against fan base and it could get ugly. Two totally different bands, and both are great. My heart lies with Liliac though! Just sayin!

Liliac are amazing at doing covers but their originals are also awesome. I heard them play this Live and it was awesome. As far as The Warning's cover, I didn't like it as it was too weak/poppy to me. A better comparison would be this Liliac- Enter Sandman Cover VS The Warning's Original Cover of Enter Sandman. There's people who only like The Warning, there's people who only like Liliac, and there's people who like both, I'm one of the ones who like both. As far as Liliac goes, it's been forever since they did this cover and I would be interested to see how it would sound if they did a studio version of it now, I know it sounds great Live because I heard them do it in February.
Agreed. I would love to hear a fresh Warning Cover. Loved what they did with Alessia as it was unique overall but ended with a nice tribute to the original I thought.
This was not actually Liliac's 1st cover. As a Metallica fan for the last 26 years they killed this. I personally prefer a cover to be as close to the original as possible while adding your own tweaks to it and that is what Liliac did here and it's how they do all of their covers. In this particular one the timely guitar squeals you hear from Sam were not in the original, the bass and drums also seemed a little heavier to me. I couldn't really hear the keys in this one but that's not that surprising as the drums and guitars likely drowned it out. I also love how Melody even put in the Oh/No/Yeah that James Hetfield put in. There's probably and likely some other stuff I missed.
Warning doesn’t have the same caliber of lead guitarist, end of story. If you wanna cover a metal song and don’t put the lead parts in it, it’s just not able to logically compete or compare IMHO as a 50 yr guitarist myself there just isn’t a real comparison sorry Warning, it’s just you don’t have the singer Mel is or Sam’s abilities, I give Abigail drumming higher stats too just on performance style, she’s beyond in to the music they play, she’s an entertainer. I’ve heard some pretty good music from the Warning but when push comes to shove, and they are both playing on the same night my money is getting spent on Liliac every time.
They’re good musicians but to be completely honest I don’t like the singer. She’s actually hiding her real voice behind that ugly fake singing voice. I bet you she would sound a lot better if she used her real voice.
They are so awesome, badass band, Melody voice is incredible, she is Queen of Rock
