yes today is my first day here. i swear she did this video just for me. i have a wedding to go to she just stopped me from that horrible black dye. i am natural for 9yrs, salt pepper for 4 thank you Narrative
Woman, you and your hair look GOOD!!!!! Your personality is most impressive! Congratulations on your self discovery of the “ gray hair” lifestyle. Your video is encouraging me to get on board. ❤
LOL… I keep saying the same thing and I’m 64. I now say 68! As I have never worn a wig, weave or even braids in my life it can be exhausting to keep up but still not ready. We will see.
You're a talented story teller. I lingered on this video without clicking, expecting to get bored at some point. You were surprisingly refreshing. I hope your channel grows. I'm interested in your journey to TH-cam.
This spoke to my soul in its entirety. Thank you soooo much! At 50, I'm walking through this journey right now, unapoligetically. Caring not at all about anyone's opnion. Thank you for contributing your personal walkthrough and adding the right amount of warmth and empathy so that your message resonates. Yes, it is very liberating, indeed. I am ready to get my silver fox strut all the way on!!! 😊
My story is very similar to yours. My 26 year old daughter already has some gray. I stopped dying earlier this year. I’m loving it. I feel free. Washing is much easier. You are gorgeous and your spirit is beautiful.
Your hair looks beautiful. In my family the women don't gray, the men do. But guess who saw their first gray at 27...I never even considered plucking. That sounds painful. I started coloring my hair in my mid thirties. By 50 I was sick of it. Ten years later I stopped dying my hair and never looked back. Gray ladies just look boss to me and I get so many compliments. My husband loved it and was so encouraging. I waited untill I retired to take the plunge and I love it. Thank you for your inspiration and beauty.
You look absolutely beautiful! I can confirm everything you're saying. I've lived in that very same journey! I can't wait until my hair is all the way white. Exceptance is everything!
Your hair is so beautiful 😍 I'm 44, and I'm starting to see grey coming out on my sides, and I love it. I have been trying to go natural for years but keep going back to a relaxer because I can't get thru that awkward stage when growing it out. Your hair style is exactly what I want, and seeing this video makes me want to try again. Your hair is absolutely beautiful.
Thank you for the compliment! 🥰 And DO give it another try. The awkward stage is annoying but unavoidable. And when in doubt, throw on a headwrap/cap! All the best on your journey! #teamgreyhair
That awkward stage when transitioning, I would continue to do roller sets. It blends the 2 textures together nicely. I got so many compliments on my hair during that stage.
I LOVE YOUR VOICE. Your storytelling is EVERYTHING. Love the picture inserts and video. YOU look phenomenal with your gray hair! I'm embracing mine and loving the changes. It's so interesting how the gray hairs have a mind of their own...lol
You are a whole vibe! I love it. I'm 38 and I started greying in my early 20s. I dyed my hair jet black until I was 35. I also tried the blonde phase when I had locs but that didn't last too long. The damage was wild. I'm salt and pepper with a TWA now and I'm at peace with my grey journey. Thank you for this video. You're magnificent💖
Sis, I felt liberated! When I decided to allow my gray to have its way. I am thoroughly Salt & Pepper! I love it! it is unique and beautiful! I felt that I would look like a old lady but I am not caring how others view me. Great video!
I love this post. It was very similar to my journey. I didn’t do the blonde thing because I was scared of hair damage. I have been silver 5 years now and LOVE it🩶
It is freeing. I am in my 50's, chemical free hair, with just a few silvers. I love them. My mama was chained to the Bejing rinses which were still dyes. I didnt want to do that to myself. I wanted to be free. Best decision ever.
Going gray was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. My grandmother had beautiful gray hair but it was my big sister who was the catalyst for my changed outlook. She told me that she was tired of fighting the inevitable and was just going to go 100% natural (she had stopped perming her hair years before and so have I). I saw how that one decision to embrace her God given beauty transformed her in such an inspiring way. She now has thick long beautiful salt and pepper hair that people compliment everywhere she goes. This made me realize that embracing my gray hair was embracing my own natural beauty and let me tell you it is LIBERATING!!!! No more dyes, damaged hair and frustration trying to fight the inevitable. Ladies if you’re on the fence as to whether you should do it I say just go for it. Your beautiful gray hair is waiting to further enhance the beautiful woman you already are.
I thoroughly enjoyed your delivery of your journey in this video. And you spoke to many of the things I have felt in my own journey of embracing my grey. Thank you, Sylvie, glad to have found you here on YT!
Your hair is so beautiful! I started turning gray in my 20’s and I dyed my hair until I turned 40. After that I said no more. I get so many compliments on my hair. Today my new esthetician asked if my hair was dyed. I said no it’s natural she said 😮 it’s so beautiful!

My mom is 85 this year and I am fully whit comepared to her even my 84 yr old sister is not even grey,... Im soo glad I didnt mess my hair up with the rinses even though the rinse is not as harsh on your hair than the rinse... I love seeing the women and the men embracing their Silver hair... You got ppl younger than me in their 20s paying for grey hair while Im rocking my Natural Silver Strands.. I love my stands,, Loving who GOD intended me to be . Now I dont even see the black strings... You Look beautiful....
Thank you for the compliment!🥰 You're so right about some younger people wanting to 'go grey', as I get approached by many of them and they're fascinated with my hair. Love it!
I needed this today! Such a great video. Loving your hair Sis! I started my gray journey in September. I finally have reached the point where I realized no one cares about me going gray but me. I do think I’m going to do a gray sew in until my hair grows to the length I want.
Thanks for your words of inspiration. I decided over a month ago to stop doing semi permanent dye. I’m trying to wash it away somewhat difficult, but it’s fading away. I will let the gray glow!
We have the same hair! Love mine, love yours! Have never used dyes or other color solutions. Never ending concerns about the possible health consequences for me as a Black woman a dominant factor. Extremely forthright and insightful video.
Thank you for sharing your journey! I am here and starting to transition as well. It does feel good, but it's hard because it does not happen overnight. I want to be brave, and I am going to try. But sis, you look good, and your hair is rockin.
I love it sis it totally beautiful..I stopped running too....I greyed very early, notice my 1st strand at 9...now I have more grey than my mom...I stopped coloring my hair for 5 yrs or so now and it was the best decision I could have ever made...I love my hair and love the skin I'm in...consider yourself as woman of wisdom because that's what your grey signifies...blessings to you beautiful Queen. ❤❤❤

UMMMMM, I echo the sentiments of the others, tone, presentation🙌🏾So calming and so needed as a natural who gray is determined to come through daily, thank you thank you thank you. I hope to see more content😘
Love your hair. I have grays coming in. I'm loving them. I can't wait until it comes in completely. I refused to be a slave, having to constantly color my hair whenever I have my hair trimmed.
I am in the same boat sis!!! I have an interview today and wondering if I should wear my silver hair. God is amazing how, I came across this video right now!! Wow! This must be a sign, to go for it. I am also a hair stylist but work in administration too. So I change often, like your beloved mom, I sport my other hair too. I also love your story and the way you present. Grey hair, don't care!! I grew mine out during Covid and everyday it became more salt than pepper, but the texture changed due to pressure meds, it became extremely course and fell out. Changed meds, still not working well, but I am here. The hair stopped falling out as much and working on diet and getting the right HBP formula. God bless u. U look fabulous!!! Loved the video too.
@l.j.bembry8763 So glad my video resonated! Thanks so much for watching and sharing your story ❤️ Sometimes, just pushing yourself to get outside your comfort zone can reap great benefits. If you're gonna go grey, you gotta OWN IT! And I hope you nail that interview -- however you decide to do your hair! ✊🏽🙌🏾
Thanks for sharing! Just got my natural hair cut about an inch (on top) shorter than usual! The barber got a little happy with the shears and my sides and back are lay flat shaved. My kids and their friends loves it! Husband in shock since I have been growing it out mostly on top. My sides and front are the more gray areas. I am not sure of the back as I can't see it. I have been pondering about stop coloring and decided this is the perfect time to do so. So, I will be cutting the color off as my roots grows out. No more coloring as it not only damages hair bu,t penetrates into our brain. Going to be 66 in November and 40 years married in December. I have earned every single strand of gray hair on my head and not only from age. I will embrace the wisdom that it represents, personal growth and love myself even more.
Your conversational narrative style of presentation is refreshing. It's giving performing arts, film, stage, or even communications. Love it! Kudos on embracing and enjoying the grey/gray YOU! This algorithm recommendation was good New sub!
You look soooo beautiful! I'm on that journey now, even though I fought it until covid. I'm like your mom, I'm wearing wigs, but I hate it. I'm trying to get the nerve to be my beautiful Grey self. My friend sent me this video, and I'm so grateful.
Wow - I'm grateful for your friend! I'm so glad you enjoyed this video. Let it serve as confidence boost for when you're ready to take the 100% grey hair plunge! You got this, sis. ✊🏾 🧑🏾🦳
You're hair is so beautiful. The women in our family have such nice coloring. I can't wait. My sister is a dye person. And it works for her. But i can't wait to look like my aunties
Love your hair. I’ve been grey for four years. Love the time I have now that I’m not coloring my hair. No more putting poison on my head or going to the salon and spending a fortune. My grandmother plucked and eventually it stopped growing and she had bald patches. I consider you a late grayer. I started at 14. My cousins were born with grey patches.
Thanks for telling your gray hair journey because it’s true- you get more attention and compliments from strangers who will say how much they love your hair! My gray hair is my halo! And I started graying at age 26 and now in my 70’s but I actually look 10 years younger! You look amazing ❤
Yaaas Girl! I noticed gray strands when I was a teenager. I would pluck, cover up with the asymmetrical bob style, dye & wear wigs until my son offered to pay to have my hair done so he & his sister could see how long it was during the covid season. Now I've embraced being a Silver Diva & get more compliments more than ever. Because I like big hair, I rock my afro puff & other styles to enhance the look😉
You are so gorgeous...Everything about you! I went nto sandwich shop yesterday to pick up a sub, and within 15 minutes got three compliments inside and outside the store on my way to car. It kind of caught me off guard for a minute because I've been covering my hair with hair peices and scarves for about a year. A little encouragement never hurts. 😊
I also naturally have/had black hair and can totally relate to how unhappy you felt with that extreme contrast in color just 2 weeks after dyeing. And I went blonde too! But yes, the damage. Well, you look fantastic now. Maybe it’s precisely because you’re quite young that the s&p looks so good on you. I’m in my 60s but am hoping I can rock it with a bit of red lip and style. Thanks for this!
I did jet black color too for a while, then it became too much. Once the silver pattern grew in to my liking, I stopped the jet black dye. I love it now. No more dye. I'm like you, I'm good. Your hair is beautiful.
I’m nowhere near my gray hair journey, and loved this video to give me some insight and preparation for the future. I’m unsure if I’ll embrace the gray or dye it. Either way, it’s beautiful to watch your journey.
I love your hair. It's even better that YOU love it! 😂 I looked at myself today and came to the realization that I am just not ready to embrace my natural hair color! I am going for longer periods between coloring, trying to get used to the white but I need a little more time. Tfs, the story of your journey is inspiring! 💐🫶🏾
I started graying at 21 and at 45 I’m almost completely gray…. Dyes don’t work and rinses turn my hair blue or green lol so I kept it braided and my stylist heed my gray perfectly 😂 but now I’m at a place of acceptance
My silverista sister, you’re beautiful! I grayed in my 20s and dyed my hair until I retired from corporate America at 59 - 6yrs ago. I’m now unapologetically natural and gray, and love it! I also get so many compliments, especially from black men! 😎
I’m 51 an done with coloring my hair. I’m embracing my grey and once it grows out enough I’m big chopping again. I don’t want to bother with long hair with grey at the roots. I absolutely love your hair.
I have the same pattern. Halo in the front mixed greys in the middle and mostly black in the back. Started my grow out at 46. Im about 4 months in. Got tired of the transition so I chopped off a full 8 inches. People were so used to me with long black hair and I look totally different. Nothing but compliments especially from stangers. Lol I cant wait to be all white as well. I dont even call my hair gray...I call it Platinum Plus 😂 and learning to love it!!! Love yours too. Im looking for different styles now and the 2nd pic is super cute❤
My grandfather was still coloring his hair black at the age of 90 🤣He would look too see if any new white hair was coming in, and bug my Aunt to touch iy up. I wondered if I would be like that. But, a few years ago I decided to embrace the white hair.#Freedom
sooo Beautiful !!! I will be 60 December I don't have as nearly as you so, I wear wigs. its filling in with few patches I'm not ashamed I wore it out last summer mostly peppers pepper salt maybe in two years I'm natural 14 years.
I appreciate this post! Your gray, your silver looks great! I just colored my hair yesterday and I’m tired of using hair color approximately every two or three months - ugh! My grays have been coming in across my front edges and sometimes I find one or two strands within my hair which I pluck! oh no! When the Clairol starts fading out, I use the Quick Cover (mascara-like concealer) especially at work - my first stop is the ladies room mirror to cover up the gray. Although the gray, ah, the silver, looks beautiful; and the salt and pepper looks great on men, (no shame in their game huh), I’m in my 50s and I'm not quite ready to go gray - especially in patches; however I have been thinking about it though. I’ll have to revisit this post when I decide to let the gray, ah the silver, grow in. Thank you!
I love your story! I turned 70 in July and I kept saying I wasn't ready over the past few years. I am so tired of coloring... so tired, but my hair isn't pretty like my late mother's was. Her hair was evenly grayed. Unfortunately, I have grayed like my paternal grandmother...all around the top and sides with mostly black in the back. I look like a skunk, so with that said, I'm still coloring. I wonder can a professional color the back to make it look like the front and the sides? Oh, well, I'll get there soon , hopefully. Your hair is beautiful. I wear a very low natural which I love. Your story is encouraging. Thank you.

UMMMMM, I echo the sentiments of the others, tone, presentation🙌🏾So calming and so needed as a natural who gray is determined to come through daily, thank you thank you thank you. I hope to see more content😘
Thank you so much! More to come 🙏🏾🙌🏾
You put a smile on my face, I feel the same way , I’m on my journey too, looking for a shape tat suits me, thanks
Glad to hear it! Just do a bit of trial and error with the hair. That's what I did.
❤ Amazing video. Love the presentation ❤ Well thought out and Beautifully done! ❤❤❤
Thanks so much for the compliment! Appreciate the love 🥰🥰🥰
Love your hair. I have grays coming in. I'm loving them. I can't wait until it comes in completely. I refused to be a slave, having to constantly color my hair whenever I have my hair trimmed.
I hear that! 🙌🏽
Great video quality, the music, your voice, gestures. Thanks for sharing your gray hair journey. Just started mine.
@seedsowlife Welcome to the Silver Foxes club 🙌🏾🎊 So glad you appreciated the video! Thanks for watching ❤️
Agree 💯 Embrace the silver wisdom 😉
Your conversational narrative style of presentation is refreshing. It's giving performing arts, film, stage, or even communications. Love it!
Kudos on embracing and enjoying the grey/gray YOU!
This algorithm recommendation was good
New sub!
Thanks for following! 🥰 And yes, as a VO actor, I have a penchant for performance 🎭
You started a 14?! Wow - I am a late grayer!! lol
Inspired by your story. Empowering and liberating.
Freedom ❤
It's a blessing my dear, I'm embracing mine,it does feel good.
Thanks for telling your gray hair journey because it’s true- you get more attention and compliments from strangers who will say how much they love your hair! My gray hair is my halo! And I started graying at age 26 and now in my 70’s but I actually look 10 years younger! You look amazing ❤
Thanks so much for the compliment! BTW your hair looks GORGE! 👌🏾
Your hair is gorgeous. Love it!
@@gwenmoncure6022 ❤️🙏🏽
Your hair is absolutely gorgeous. I wish my gray hair was as beautifully silver as yours.✨
So kind of you to say. Thank you!! 🥰🥰🥰
Ooh, I love an afro puff! I'll be trying different styles as well 😀
@@thenewnarrativewithsylvie I rock the goddess braid as well. It's that versatile, vintage style that even men pay homage to the queen 🤣
You better rock that red lip💄 It would be killer 💋🙌🏾
I did jet black color too for a while, then it became too much. Once the silver pattern grew in to my liking, I stopped the jet black dye. I love it now. No more dye. I'm like you, I'm good. Your hair is beautiful.
Looking gorgeous and I love your message!
So glad! 🥰
I saw my first grey at 26. I started dyeing my hair at about 31 or 32. I cut WAY back on dyeing at 53 or 54 and stopped completely at 56. ❤
I feel you! Acceptance is a journey on YOUR time. Thanks for watching 🙏🏾
Your hair is gorgeous! You look fantastic! Thank you so very much for this 🔥 🔥 video. You 💅🏾 it!

Very interesting topic, you said it for me, you're looking fabulous
Good for you! It looks great 👍
You have a great Story telling Voice. Love the content. Accidentally came across your channel.
Glad you enjoy it! 😀
I started graying at 21 and at 45 I’m almost completely gray…. Dyes don’t work and rinses turn my hair blue or green lol so I kept it braided and my stylist heed my gray perfectly 😂 but now I’m at a place of acceptance
Your narrative is awesome!!! Thank you for sharing!🌹
You are so welcome 🙌🏾
My silverista sister, you’re beautiful! I grayed in my 20s and dyed my hair until I retired from corporate America at 59 - 6yrs ago. I’m now unapologetically natural and gray, and love it! I also get so many compliments, especially from black men! 😎
Thank you for the compliment! 🥰And you go - with your unapologetically natural & gray hair!!🙌🏾
Your hair is TOO SHARP! Love the cut, color, and texture. It compliments your beautiful complexion to a tee 💕🍏
Thank you so much! 🙌🏾
I’m 51 an done with coloring my hair. I’m embracing my grey and once it grows out enough I’m big chopping again. I don’t want to bother with long hair with grey at the roots. I absolutely love your hair.
Appreciate the compliment! 🙌🏾 Thanks for watching 💞
You are absolutely beautiful! I love the salt and pepper look! I am 42 and embracing my beautiful, natural gray! 🫶🏾💛
You look amazing 😍😍.
Silver and gray hair is beautiful and you wear it well sis!! ❤️🩹❤️❤️🩹
❤🙌🏾
I have the same pattern. Halo in the front mixed greys in the middle and mostly black in the back. Started my grow out at 46. Im about 4 months in. Got tired of the transition so I chopped off a full 8 inches. People were so used to me with long black hair and I look totally different. Nothing but compliments especially from stangers. Lol I cant wait to be all white as well. I dont even call my hair gray...I call it Platinum Plus 😂 and learning to love it!!! Love yours too. Im looking for different styles now and the 2nd pic is super cute❤
Thanks for sharing your story I’m excepting my gray now
My grandfather was still coloring his hair black at the age of 90 🤣He would look too see if any new white hair was coming in, and bug my Aunt to touch iy up. I wondered if I would be like that. But, a few years ago I decided to embrace the white hair.#Freedom
I’m grey and natural and I love it.
sooo Beautiful !!! I will be 60 December I don't have as nearly as you so, I wear wigs. its filling in with few patches I'm not ashamed I wore it out last summer mostly peppers pepper salt maybe in two years I'm natural 14 years.
This was so inspiring. 45 & salt and pepper here. Decided earlier this year that I was going to stop fighting it. I've been going gray since about 22.
Welcome, sis! #embracethegray ✊🏾
Blessing to you sista watching Jamaica 🇯🇲
I had to subscribe 😊
Thank You Thank You Thank You! ❤🙌🏾
Yes sis I can attest to that . I went through that same thing. And I am loving it now.
💕You’re my spirit sister💕…started my grey journey this year.
Welcome, sis ❤ ✊🏽👩🏾🦳
More fun!!😂 love your spunk!!
Haha - thank you! Appreciate that 😄
I appreciate this post! Thank you!
Thanks for watching 😃 Remember: Your journey, your time. Do what makes YOU comfortable 🙌🏾
Thank you.
Ugh, that awkward growth pattern! 😩 I feel you. Thank you for watching ❤
Absolutely beautiful!!! ❤
Il in love with your gray hair and hair style ❤❤❤
How authentically gorgeous ❤
