  • I was randomly chosen to "Stump the Band' on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. I sang a song that I wrote called "Tweezers of Your Love". Did I stump the Tonight Show Band? Watch this video and find out!!!

Great clip! I recently had the experience to hear Sandy speak about life lessons, leadership, and living in a world of opportunity. Outstanding speaker, first class guy, and powerful message.

I’ve watched many of these “Stump The Band” segments from The Tonight Show over the past few weeks. Waxing nostalgic, I guess. Missing a time passed. I’ve got to tell you, yours is the best, in my opinion! Thank you so much for sharing

Sandy, that was incredible. I don't know how you got that clip that you were on back then. I missed The Tonight show so much. Johnny Carson was the absolute best. What an awesome memory to have met him and talked with him for only a few minutes.

I eventually got that clip from a high-ranking employee of NBC whom I met when I was with Cyndi Lauper. Yes, it was awesome meeting JC. After that appearance in '78 I met JC twice more in '84 when I appeared on the tonight show w/ Cyndi.

Holy cow, Sandy! I met him when he was drumming for the Monkees in 2001. What are the odds I would see this? I came on here trying to find an episode that my friend Liz is on, she sang Cosmic Charlie by the Grateful Dead.

As I understand it, Sandy’s first hit record session date as a drummer was on Benny Mardones’s “Into the Night,” one of the few songs to have two separate runs on the pop charts. Great to see him here.

That's the first time I've ever seen the band forcibly stop a "Stump the Band" song. Sandy wasn't done, he'd have just kept on going with another verse or two.

    • @sandygennaro333

The Stump the Band audience members are pre-selected. I think they chose 3 for this segment to be performed within a certain time frame. "Tweezers" is about 2min 30sec in it's entirety. Thanks for your comment!

@@sandygennaro333 it’s cathartic. I loved playing in high school and less during college. The Med school years wiped away any playing but now at 63 and digital technology I can play and record at home. All but the drums , I’ll go faster and slower. I have a medical channel on YT and now and then I post me doing a song. Patients get a kick out of it but the pleasure of making music is unsurpassed!
