Just in the Bronx there are more than 200,000 Dominicans almost all to them depending on welfare benefits. _*New York Post-The Federal Government found a scam for more than $60 millions, of dominicans depending on welfare that ended on Dom Republic banks*_. *Councilman Peter Vallone Jr. yesterday called food-stamp fraud scheme ... on their EBT cards then shipping them to the Dominican Republic to be sold. ... money is being used to make a profit in other countries is a slap in our face.* ON TOP OF THAT WE ARE CALLED THE BROTHEL OF THE CARIBBEAN BY ALL AGENCIES WHO VISIT OUR COUNTRY TO INVESTIGATE PROSTITUTION OF MINORS

Easier said then done when you have no funds to rebuild. It takes a lot of money to do that, and when you lose everything you owned it becomes impossible to rebuild a community. By the way, all 50 states and its territories have to depend on the government at some point.

@@Edlas22158 You have to understand that this was done on purpose by the US government. Puerto Rico was given food stamps & welfare back in the 50s & 60s I believe and my grandfather said, "this is bad!" Simply bc he knew this would make people dependant, lazy & entitled. It's just common sense. My people have no choice now but to create for themselves bc Trump & the Governor & Mayor's of Puerto Rico will not do anything for them but wait until Puerto Ricans either leave or die where they are & eventually the wealthy will continue to take over the island! This is what it is.

Oh we had forgotten to say, that running after the food stamps that Puerto Rico pays for, and share with your hungry people is why they risk their lives in the ocean to get to the honey bee that is the island for them. And we did not know, we just found out that the news that we heard a long time ago of a woman feeding breast milk to stop the men from being dehydrated was a Dominican trying to get to the island. hAHAHAHA, sure that as soon as they got to the island went to the social services office to get help, the same way that they fill the school cafeterias, jails, schools etc, etc. Then why not to analyze the situation, go to a Therapist Office to release your complexes before going to every PR video to release them? Why not to realize that the island has done nothing but instead of stepping on your peoples' fingers to let them fall when they grab to the island, they bend down to help and be grateful for DR no being like Haiti thanks to the island?

Some people, ( ignorant people ) had the audacity to blame the President of the USA for not giving enough help to the Island of Puerto Rico. But, there were videos that show that in the Metropolitan Area boxes of food and other items were being dumped in the garbage cans. That the Mayors responsible to manage all support from different agencies, to make sure that those people living in the rural areas receive the same amount of help the city people got did not do their job. They spent their time criticizing the President of the USA when every Puerto Rican knows that we are a Commonwealth and as such should be capable enough to deal with a Hurricane specially when all kinds of help and privileged were being handle to the Island. Do you want to blame someone? Blame the Politicians that are running our Island of Puerto Rico and are forever defending our independence, until of course a Mojon gets stuck in our asses, then they start looking for scapegoats to carry our sins out of town with them. Our Puerto Ricans politicians have for many decades gotten away with all kinds of corruption and they are still playing the same old games as to whether the people of the Island prefer the State hood or independence from USA which no one wants, so the only alternative is to stay the same as always a Commonwealth. Too many crooks wants the Island to stay in their hands of power, so they can determine what is best for the people of the Island which of course it's what ever will fill their pockets with money.

This is not right! Puerto Ricans are being forgotten. This island is gorgeous and the people are as well. So much was raised in major cities Across America including my city to give to Puerto Ricans after the hurricane was gone. To me this shows that all the aid clothing, and food was never given to the Puerto Rican people.

And now that governor had to resign because of this ? Any fellow Puerto Rican’s out there from the island have anything on this ??

My childhood was beautiful. Beautiful sun, ocean, waves and country landscape. Throughout my years growing up in PR Ive learned that most of the people over there DO NOT WANT TO WORK! The generation that did work died a long time ago. No workers, no jobs. Now with this hurricane Puerto Rico's future looks even more darker and grim. My country is losing and it hurts my heart because there's nothing that can be done. Not even the US can help at this point. It's all up to my people.

No way there'd not be rebuilding done with all of those 2 x 4s, cinder blocks, etc., just laying around. And the debris around the children? Why doesn't the community spend their time moving it elsewhere --- burning off what can't be used - - making use of all that can be made use of. This makes no sense. I watched videos of cities in Germany destroyed after WW II where men, women, and even children were rebuilding and cleaning up.
