    I don’t know why some people in TH-cam strumming guitars very harshly, i don’t know what satisfaction they are getting. In this video she reviews the guitar very real and genuine. Soft and nice strumming

    Great guitar, solid review. Just one point though: that is not a sound-hole pickup, it's a very basic under-saddle piezo with the controls in the sound-hole.

  • @Ezemdi

    Did anybody else hear the noise coming from the pickup? I really do like epiphones. I own an masterbilt dr400. It’s one of my favorite guitars to play. My pickup is also a bit noisy , but not that noticeable. I’m thinking of getting a hummingbird one day. Cheers

    I own this one and the clarity and depth/richness is off the charts. These things take an ocean ride, so it's best (in my opinion) to pick it up from a retailer that will go over it with a fine toothed comb before it gets into your hands. But, if you question the quality of the woods/bracing/care that went into building this to the GIbson Engineering team's specification, it is rather spectacular. I like it better than the Gibson Hummingbird. I think it has a great projection than the Gibson does. I'm not bashing the Gibson by any stretch of the imagination. I have owned the Gibson J45 Standard, J45 Regal & J200 Parlor (not many made of these J200 parlors) and I loved all of them. There's very likely not a Gibson acoustic made that I haven't picked up at one point or another at some point. I love them, which really made me have to take a step back on what was going through Gibson's mind when they began allowing this. This IBG Hummingbird is just killer, and one of my favorite guitars that I own. When I got mine, I made an ever so slight neck tweak to it, just to raise the action very slightly to my liking. It took me all of 30 seconds to do that and I have a hard time putting it down. I think Meg did it justice here and her love of it should tell everyone something. Hate the electronics, but I never use that on acoustics anyway. You can clearly hear the drastic tone change when she plugs up. If you have to have electronics, remove the one that comes with it and get something of quality.

      Wondering where your Hummingbird was manufactured, Indonesia, or China? thx.

      @@guitarlight3935 All IBG Epiphone acoustics are made at the old Samick factory in Indonesia. Each guitar is in the hands of one luthier. In other words, Epiphone’s custom shop.

      @@jacoblim6621 They are full of it, brother man. That is absolutely not true. I find less knowledge at retailers than I do on TH-cam. Just FYI

      She plays with spectacular touch sensitivity, and her phrases are nicely shaped, as well.
      I do not usually care for acoustic guitars being plucked, but, in this race case, I think she makes it work well.
      if she studies serious composition and dares to work on her own stuff, I could imagine her creating something quite wonderful - some day.

    I've had to return the first one I had cause the pick up wasn't working, setup was fine, still took it back and got a different one for replacement.
    It's got a warped neck and the fret inlays keep coming off so i went with a guild and it blew that epiphone out of the water by QC comparison.

    • @blakeoms
      @blakeoms 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @matthewreid618 when mass production happens such as this case, it's inevitable certain cases will fall through the cracks. For the price paid I wasn't expecting "Perfection" but playability at command when setup. I had two professional grade USA made Gibsons, Les paul standard and Gibson (reissue) faded red flying V and the electrical on the V was so bad the retailer actually switched it for the les paul studio, which was AWESOME, until the headstock split a little bit thicker than a hair strand. But it got worse as it went along to the shop I got it. But for the price I paid monthly for a professional grade instrument, it should have been made right.

      @adamprice3466 after the Hummingbird situation, the second one with the warped neck I just kept it and accordingly adjust the truss rod when needed, but I got one of those "Inspired by gibson" line of epiphones first I got the SG 67' and it was INCREDIBLE. it's actually in my Profile pic, but it had a crack right in the middle of the neck. 5th fret between 12th... replaced it with the explorer Inspired by gibson, also a amazing piece of mahogany, heavy as the world but unbelievable to play with... same exact problems, split truss rod made it bend in the middle of the neck where it was very noticeable when you go from 3rd to 12th. Believe me I loved those two guitars and even my wife was devastated returning my S.G. first. Let alone my explorer.

    I tried this guitar and the strings are very hard even the fret...honestly speaking from my heart the guitar colour is awesome but im not find comfortable with this guitar... Dont judge book by its cover...The price so high it was around 42k -50k in indian currency... So I finally bought tangle wood acoustic which is around 18k amd also which is far better than the Gibson humming bird in terms of resonance,fret smoothness and flexibility...

    Are epiphone guitars good quality? For some reason I avoid them because they seem like a gimmick guitar ever since they sold a crappy one with RockSmith. Maybe I’m just a brand name snob, in which I don’t like that idea.

      They were like that, but “Inspired By Gibson” range after 2020 is really worth more than its price, obviously they are a little worse in everything compared to Gibson, but the difference is like 5-20% and definitely not enough to write them off as “copies”

    • @chrisjames1924
      @chrisjames1924 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Most of the 90’s Epiphones are awful and mostly used poor quality laminate. This ‘inspired by Gibson’ range is a different beast altogether and sounds better than many late 70’s Gibsons you’ll find for sale.

    • @whitestripe484
      @whitestripe484 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      On the other hand their wood quality considerably differs throughout their line. Firebird would have absolutely the same wood as Gibson’s model, both in quality and amount of pieces, yet their SG standard can be 10-piece with a woodgrain veneer over it. It isn’t exactly catastrophic, but you just have to know that stuff before buying

      As someone who ones multiple Epiphone and Gibsons I can say that they have pros and cons
      Gibson:
      -Bad quality control
      -you might not like nitro lacquer
      -Bad break angle
      -Overpriced because everything is manufactured in the USA even tho the quality is partially worse
      +you get the "authentic original"
      Epiphone
      +relatively cheap
      +partially really innovative models
      +great selection of guitars
      -it doesn't say gibson
