Okay, I recognize the profound influence BP (and in turn other reactors) have had in introducing Ren to others. I really love reactors because it’s like sharing something you love with your friends and building a shared love of something.
But I’m really here to see BP mouthing the lyrics in almost all of them. 😂

@@Resoundio Awesome! I signed up on your project, too. I’d honestly be really interested in seeing a project taking one new release song, doing a concert at one week, one month, 3,6,&12 months. And see the influence that a “chain reaction” could have. Oh, 10 reactors did this song, how many more would do it when they saw those reactors had done it. Etc.
That's a cool idea! I could imagine also just putting out some network maps that show a sort of expanding reactiverse (including around a particular song), perhaps as a sort of navigation interface that is superior to TH-cam for search@@StevieGasko
@@Resoundio That would be awesome! It might be hard to incorporate, but tracking a subscription growth post reaction would be interesting as well. A concert would influence those subscription numbers, it would be hard to see how it grew organically from the reaction alone.

I have wondered how many views Hi Ren has really had in total if you also counted the views from the Hi Ren reactions?... I'm not sure if the algorithm you have written pulls in this kind of view data, I was just wondering that's all... great job dude.
Thanks for the encouragement Chris! I haven't pulled in view data, the TH-cam API does not provide it as far as I can tell. It is possible to do, just a bit of work and I haven't had a super compelling reason to do so yet.

People don't react that much when they see Hi Ren for the first time. They just sit and absorb, I think they get that they're seeing something special, something actually new. It's an overload of several different types, but once you sit, think and absorb it hits you hard and there will be a reaction.

Why not post them? Like you said, there are those of us who enjoy watching the first encounter with this song in particular. All humans want to belong. We look around a room to see if others are as moved with the movie they just watched or the concert they just witnessed or even with traumatic events. We look to gauge where we are. I would love to see you in particular interact in such a way. You are intelligent and engaging, and Im willing to bet your friends are the same. Happy Birthday Hi Ren! Respect to BP for starting the invitation reactions trend with his gold star versions.
Sadly (?) I've seen all of these on BP channel. I love how everyone was mesmerised. I get you had to cut the bits when they stop and talk and it just reminds me of the first time I saw and heard that song. As someone that has been writing music for over 20 years I couldn't look away. Like a deer in headlights which is rare. I fell down the Ren rabbit hole hard when this came out and still stuck in it.
IMO, nothing sad about getting deeply into something meaningful!

Thank you ! I have watched every reaction I can find for Ren. I am older and my husband passed just 3 years ago. I needed the reations very much, because I really didn't have anyone to share him with. I believe Ren has and will continue to change music as we knew it. He is a once a generation Superstar. The rest of our planet is just starting to learn this, but I have known since first hearing "HI REN" last January.

I had to take a minute after I heard it to process what I had just heard. Since then I've been on the Ren bandwagon and getting as many people in front og him as I possibly can. That's awesome! I'm thinking about making a short video about how to gracefully create a space for sharing art with others you care about. So often I see people posting in social media about how they feel rejected and so forth when they try to "convert" people, and most of the time I suspect they're unaware of how suffocating they're being. Do you think that would be helpful?

I had been shamelessly playing Ren songs before hi ren was released. once it came out I was all over it showing friends because I loved watching their reactions and loving the conversations it would start. then I discovered the reaction community on yt. never knew it existed until hi ren. so that's what I have been watching for this whole year.....
I loved that you chose BPs introduction to Ren for this. what really stood out to me was the progression of BP through all of these!

Thank you sir for all your research and work. This was awesome and I can't imagine how time consuming it was. Ren is special and I love he is getting some of his flowers now. His determination is a beacon for all to watch and follow. He is my favorite artist for 1 yr now. I have quickly added all his CD's and his merch to my growing collection. The money is well spent. Ren seems to pour his earned money right back into his art. MG3 is a great example. Thank you again.

My 7 yr old son is really into Greek mythology and blew me away when we watched Asaf Avidan's "The Labrynth Song" (th-cam.com/video/oiL9ItjmHRw/w-d-xo.html) when he's like "Oh, this is about Perseus and the Minotaur". Which he figured out because Asaf's refrain is about Princess Ariadne, who helped Perseus find his way out of the labrynth. Graham knows about that myth because his favorite podcast Greeking Out represents Ariadne as a spider whose web spinning abilities helps Perseus leave a trail for him to make his way back out. Anyway, your spider avatar + Arianze reminded me of that. Or maybe a reference to Anansi the spider trickster god? Something else?
@@Resoundio My name is inherited from my paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Arianze Varamopoulos, it goes without saying that she was of Greek descent. It is probably related to a more archaic or more modern version of the name Ariadne in Greek (she was born in the late 19th century), and I am also going to assume that the name is related to the myth, but that is all I know.
In any case, it is a blessing to know of a seven-year-old boy interested in such topics... It is a shame that I cannot send him the dozens of books I have on Greco-Latin mythology, they are all written in Spanish.
But maybe you can find some that is translated. There is one that especially captivated me when I was his age ("Myths and legends of ancient Greece"; Author, Anisia Miranda).
For when he is older, I recommend "The Golden Bough" by James Frazer, which is in English.

Guaranteed a fantastic reaction concert would be people's first reaction to electric callboy. Would have to find a song that people did first (their a techno/ electric, pop and metal band) reaction to cause their first reaction is often times humor with what da fuk did I just watch to oh my bloody hell this is legit fantastic. You can possibly do hypa hypa or pump it. Those usually seem to be a first reaction songs for them. Would love to see the bizarre looks on their face. Electric callboy has also done reactions to their reactions so you might be able to put that in their as well

Thanks for the question, I appreciate it. Go ahead and submit it, it will depend on the context and the song and the vibe. In this video, for example, there's a bunch of profanity from the reactors. I'm much more likely to include profanity from reactions if the song itself has a bit.

This is indeed a lot of work. I built a software framework called Resound to help with a lot of the manual work (which itself was months of work), most importantly finding the matches between the reactions and the underlying song.
The framework does NOT use any of the generative AI that is so popular this past year. However, there are a two places where an off-the-shelf trained neural net is used: (1) for facial recognition in an image, which I incorporated in an algorithm for identifying and tracking reactor faces in the video and (2) for source separation, separating voice from accompaniment (as you might find in audio editing software to e.g. isolate a guitar track from the song as a whole).
I hope you're feeling alright today.

I know I fall into that pattern frequently, as it is drilled into us from so many angles as we're indoctrinated into the Money Game. Sometimes it is hard to recognize.
p.s. I know for a fact there are houseless folks who deeply appreciate Ren, and in fact one of them gave the most insightful comment on my Money Game Trilogy reaction concert. I'd love to hear some reactions from them (alongside a way to help them out).
@@Resoundio Reacting to Ren performances is one thing, but reacting to the same performance over and over again, using the excuse of having a guest is just plain lazy, and becoming a real bore. Even though Black Pegasus has reacted to him what seems like hundreds of times, it was shocking to realize how little research he had done on Ren. After awhile it became obvious he was just milking the fanatical Ren base in order to get clicks.

Hi, I explained that in the video thumbnail, video title, video description, 1 minute in the introduction, and in the outro. Literally the first word of the title is tagging the guy, Black Pegasus. So I don't see why I'm "fudging" anything, which would imply that I'm being dishonest about what I'm doing. This is a tribute to BP's work introducing other people to Ren over the past year.
I'm going to do a full treatment of Hi Ren next year, and it is going to take a lot of work. The Money Game Reaction Monument I made that you liked took me about three months, and Hi Ren will also require that amount of time. Aside from paying homage to BP, this video also serves as a place where I literally invited people into a process for helping identify their favorite moments in Hi Ren reactions for me to use in that bigger treatment.
Overall, I'm sure I will be putting out reaction concerts on this channel that you probably won't "need" (I mean who needs any of it). You can feel free to just not watch the ones you're not interested in!
I am afraid that I cannot watch Black Pegasus anymore. I think he is 'putting his hand inside the cookie jar, take mire than you need'. Getting in so quick with his reactions, not giving people a chance to hear things on Rens channel, who does certainly deserve the views. I know Ren thanks reactors but is BP actually briginging Ren any new fans or just being a leach. Just my opinion......freedom of speech.
