Got the feeling from his interviews that their relationship had run its course - he never refers to her, certainly not in any negative way. But at the core of this song I think you would always harbour the doubts that your 'issues' (at the very, very least) were what hastened the demise if not the actual cause... it could just so easily feed the negative spiral.

They need a bigger word than inspiring.

Thank you for this! I agree with you 100%. I've always thought that this is one of Ren's best songs. It's hauntingly beautiful and is an emotional masterpiece. The cinematography is breathtaking and the explosion of Ren's vocals at the end is both heart-stopping and amazing - I found myself holding my breath and I didn't even realize it until the end. I'm surprised this video doesn't have ten-million views! I always recommend it to reactors - it's a must see if you love Ren and needs to be pushed!
