The Apr intake does a thump sound after the rpm’s start going down and it drives me absolutely insane. The sound is also no where near as loud as the IE intake I had on my mk7.5. I don’t recommend it
Lucky mines didn’t snap but if I remember correctly…we had to shave a part down on the APR charge pipe in order to accommodate it…my situation might be a bit different as I have the APR turbo hose kit as well…but if you Watch back you’ll see the shot of what he chose to shave down…
Which has been the best intake out of the ones you've had. I remember seeing you had the nuespeed intake. Have a mk8 myself want to know what irl feels and sounds like.
I'll put it to you like this: Nuespeed: Very open loud turbo noises and installs nicely MST: Another loud one install is a bit more complicated than nuespeeds but sounded great. Also the "closed" add-on didn't fit for me on this one APR: The most well rounded and versatile considering you can run it open or closed and install is clean. Nice sounds open and sutle yet audible turbo noises when closed hopefully that helps
I just did the Neuspeed intake with the Neuspeed hose and inlet. Install was perfectly straightforward and smooth. Sounds great. Both are nice, but I didn’t want to,reroute the coolant hose and did t need to with Neuspeed
Engine Cover = Uselss garbage. Harmful actually, as it traps heat and directs it down onto hoses and wiring, causing it to become brittle and fail sooner.

It’s the mk7 ie v3 intake lol. I’m glad they went this route. The Apr intake on the mk7 that left the whole left side open felt ridiculous
APR states it’s a direct fit for the mk8 R but it’s actually not? I wanna buy it but this makes me second guess it.

ugh I hope mine doesn't just ordered one. I had the IE in my MK7 GTI
the MK8 might have better sound insulation... so maybe that's why it's not as loud... sounds good in this video though.
Does the APR coolant underhose feature a one way check valve like the oem hose?
Is it even necessary? Will the system for without it?

Honestly I like both. The MST was a bit louder as I could never run it in its closed form as my lid would line up properly so it was always open.

Yet the car came with an engine cover. It was removed do to recall but my GTI has a factory engine cover on it

APR is a plastic shit.. IE its good
