It feels as if agreements have been superseded by understanding. Companies may not agree to territorial restrictions, but they understand what territorial competition would mean for both of them. Instead of monopolies controlling everything we live in an age where duopolies or triopolies control prices. I don't think I've lived in a city with more than two choices of internet provider.

If instead of having big companies and giant corporate entities, what if, for arguments sake, government provided more protection and made policies that encourage more small businesses? Perhaps this would create an environment for a flourishing market diversity.
