I wish they would explore other eras of music, too. Like, Motown had a big influence on K-pop, so that music style would be so nice, although it tends to rely mainly on the vocals, so it can be risky if any members aren’t good enough. The 70’s and 80’s both had more of a focus on instruments, and their styles are more iconic.

Ive been moving away from kpop for about a year now in favour of vocaloid and the few kpop songs that I’ve liked over that year I’ve been able to listen to for months without feeling bored or tired of them. I definitely think the kpop industry pushes for overconsumption of music and taking a break and discovering new genres of music has been very beneficial to me
Oh gosh that last segment hit me really hard, because you know I've been going through this lately. I am really glad that I stepped away from the public kpop and ktube space for most part just to really reset and be able to enjoy my own things again. I highly second this advice!

I feel like I am the opposite in a lot of ways - for me personally, idc how long a trend lasts (unless i really like it and it’s too short lol). But i really don’t care if everyone and their dog does a trend, it’s just more for me to love! And it makes me excited to see different takes on them. Outside of kpop, i also still listen to the same groups/stuff i listened to 15-20 years ago 😅 I don’t follow a lot of new music unless it is an artist i found and like and for me, it’s just a comfort to be surrounded by music i know and love. And that’s why i think musical sound trends work a lot for me. I also listen to a lot of different groups and so i feel like i get something fresh all the time? Well, it is harder for me to get into just any group now but for the ones I do, i become obsessed with and then I can just rotate the artists!
i recently got into boy next door after the dropped earth wind and fire because?? it’s so fun?? i miss silly kpop love songs, AND it has a bridge, and the rap was so good. Then i got into their other songs and they seriously cook.
I know people aren't huge fans of nmixx's mixxpop but for me it helps the replayability so much knowing that every track is gonna surprise me. I feel like you're definitely right about how important bridges are, a few years ago it seemed like everybody was cutting them out but I think (hope) that we'll get longer tracks from everybody now, like IVEs Heya, excellent bridge so it's replayable.
I've been burnt out with K-pop for about 2 years, lol. I was/am a predebut Stay, and suddenly, I just started to feel this feeling of being overwhelmed and underwhelmed at the same time. I wasn't enjoying my faves music as much, and overall, K-pop started to feel like a chore to engage with. I eventually figured I was feeling a little over stimulated and moved on to checking out different genres, and it made me realize just how much we consume in such a short period of time. The pace at which new music trends thrive and die is bonkers, and I wish there was just a more general push towards allowing groups to embrace the authenticity of their identity. Experiment, try new things, but do it to be about the songs they want to make or the stories they want to tell. Regardless, this was a fun video to watch. I love how expressive you are, and your editing is really cool! I'll be sure to check the songs you mentioned liking out!🩵💜🩵💜
I've been having "I'll see you there tomorrow" brainrot for the past few weeks now. I want more house music nowww(not too much though 👀) also I've been noticing more Amapiano bsides lately(Lessera, TXT, IVE, SVT), because of Tyla's success and I genuinely hope it doesn't become too big
@@greeng6914 Amapiano is a genre that was born in south africa, it is a blend of hip hop, house music, and traditional south african music. Smart by Lesserafim is an example, I don't know what SVT song OP was referring to
5:50 i cant express how much i love bridges like atp i cant listen to a kpop song without a bridge, i dont get why others dont like bridges, like how?? 😭
I've been praying for more bridges, they're so versatile like Heya's for example. We don't always need a 2min song with drums and yelling added to the last chorus
For real i didn't liked y2k from the very start and I was so worried when other groups started to do this concept (it was like why2k). But it's good we have now something different and i hope each group could find their own style.
everything is made to invoke nostalgia nowadays (even for audiences who havent even experiencedthat time period they are referencing, like, nj is referencing late 1990s-early 2000s, when they themselves were born at that time lol)... now i can barely understand what nostalgia really is lol
The end part about taking a break hit hard. For years I pretty much only listened to kpop and I’m only now starting to branch out again. Kpop is so dear to me as it was there for my lowest points but I wasn’t feeling as gravitated towards it anymore. I ventured out and found a new love for pop punk, emo, rock, etc
this was such a nicely edited video!! as you were talking about getting tired of trends i was kind of… feeling a bit disappointed because this is such an overused argument, just more of the same complaint, but the last segment when you also got to that conclusion was so relieving and interesting !! really, what i think works best (for me) is not just listening to music for the trend, concept and not even just for the artist… just leaving your heart open and trying new things and artists… going back to old songs too… there is so much being constantly released, we should take advantage of it !
that said, billlie consistently releases Good music no matter the genre and i think you should def check them out if you havent already…. they have Not failed me so far
The way you incoroprated the Odd Eye Circle teaser sound in the intro is chef's kiss!!! Edit: ok, the entire video is so smoothly edited. The concent is intelligent. New subscriber here!
The thing that I do if I’m feeling like everything sounds the same , is just trying out new K-pop artist for example 2 gen or listening to older tracks from groups I like for example TXT cuz most of the time older tracks sound completely different from newer ones. (Just to make it clear I’m mostly listening to K-pop and not for example main stream cuz I like the mix between korean and English, also I love the bridges in most song I listen to ) 😊 By the way great video I agree with every point.❤❤
While watching I was feeling like I both agree and disagree with some of your takes, but after the final thoughts I think I'd rather say instead that you're right about trends always being a thing and that taking a break otherwise is good. However, I also think it's even more important to take some time and look for groups that do things differently, there are ALWAYS some imo. I probably say it because I've been a massive Dreamcatcher fan since 2018 and they've always been standouts from any existing group, but even with new groups I can say the same. You mentioned Rescene (btw I loved their debut so much too), but one of the groups that they actually reminded me of is Billlie and they've definitely been doing things their own way, the last 2 EPs were fantastic. I've been really enjoying all of the releases Modhaus have put out so far (both tripleS and ARTMS, one just released great album and the other is on its way), so much good music in less than 2 years. Or if anyone likes pure music similar to Gfriend, Lovelyz, Oh My Girl then CSR and ILY:1 exist (tho unfortunately one is inactive while the other seemingly changed direction). Purple Kiss have been performing greatly and keep their quality high (Sweet Juice was such a unique yet amazing title track last year). And Young Posse have entered the scene exploring many genres of hip-hop. Anyway, I'm yapping way too much but the point is that if you're looking for something fresh and unique - you can ALWAYS find it. Trends exist, but companies and producers do know that sometimes they need to stand out and explore new directions. And if afterall you still don't feel like you enjoy modern k-pop much then like you said - take a break. Music doesn't end on k-pop.
And THIS is why i love NewJeans. Fresh concept and everybody follows. Yes you can argue they aren't the most talented group, but their ideas have been ahead of the curve and the 5 young ladies execute them to the max.
I'm surprised you didn't mention "Impossible" by RIIZE. And I like "See you there tomorrow" (I stan TXT tvm) but the repetition (repeat x5000) on the "chorus" irritates me so that I can't enjoy it completely. And I feel like I'm the only person in the world who feels that way 😂
I totally feel you 😭 the chorus started losing me a bit too, despite me loving the song. As for riize, I just don’t know much about them and haven’t heard any of their latest releases :(
@@Jayegato I don't feel so alien anymore, yay! "Impossible" is the pre-release for their upcoming comeback. If you like house music I think you'll love the track 🙂
Quite honestly that is why I love groups like NCT or Loona. They have endless potential to try out different styles and concepts with their sub-units. Personally I loved it when they did the concept change for the empathy album, til this day "go" by NCT dream and "touch" by NCT 127 are two of my favorite NCT songs ever! ^^ & Loonas sub-units exchanging songs for their concerts was always one of my favorite parts! (Haseul, Heejin and Yves performing Sweet Crazy Love was everything for me! TT)
NOOO THISSS. Nct is a group I don’t even Stan, but I always tune into their comebacks because they’ll always provide me with something super interesting and unique. Exactly the same for Loona and post loona
@@Jayegato Trueee! And for NCT and Loona it doesn't feel like chasing trends, but more so creating trends lol ^^ I remember back when Limitless (NCT 127) was released and everyone was hating on the styling, but they basically did a Y2K thing before everyone else and they stayed true to the style (it has to be at least a little bit ugly to be trendy Y2K, you know) And then Loona doing lore before everyone else and making it a trend. Not every hero wears a cape! 🤧
The thing is...TXT has always done something different. Compare Crown to other 4th gen songs in 2019, Rock while others did Noise, Run Away+Cant you see me? while Retro was in. You could argue Blue Hour was the closest to the Retro trend. Then Good Boy Gone Bad while boring core was on the rise, Sugar Rush Ride completly uncomparable to anything i have heard in kpop. Deja Vu. Which song in 2023/2024 can you compare it to? You would have to go back as far to I need You by BTS to find something similar. Their bsides too. They take off, Bighit ignores it. Other groups do it too and get popular with it. (For example (non bside) Lovesong/Loser=Lover +Tomboy, Tinnitus +Smart, Ill see you there Tomorrow/Deep Down + new Riize song) i am so done💀 Everytime they did something that was in trend, they did it better. For example Frost (bside). Listenable Noise. Their discography is full of different sounds thats why as an only Moa I have nothing to complain about because I don't have to rely on trends. I listen to TXT and get something fresh all the time🤷♀️ Hope one day they get the recognition they deserve...
@@Jayegato i think we really believe in them and their art🥹 My whole heart screams "these 5 boys deserve everything". They give us the music, the performances, the geniun love for their craft. They work hard, but dont take anything for granted and are humble ( from what other people who met and worked with them say about them i really believe in them being good people). Just 5 best friends doing their best against all ods (bighit at the forefront...) I cry warching them and honestly i dont know how they bring out such emotions in me. I am rarely touched. But they just have it. They have something i cant find in other groups. Or artists as a whole. I tried. I really did but they really are my one and only and i will push until more people see them and fall in love. Sorry for my rant but your comment really made me wanna put it out there😭🙈
@@5XKXNXA Don't apologize! It warms my heart to hear you say that. I might not be too well versed in txt and I've only really listened to their title tracks. But every time I see them I get happy because I can feel their genuine energy. They're one of the FEW groups I support specifically for their members and personalities. (as I'm more of a person who stans only for music) Txt is definitely very special, and moas are the best fandom I've come across.
@@Jayegato oh no dont make me bawl😭😂 Yes they are..idk they just feel real? Its so easy to love them🥹 Although i really started getting interested in them because of the music and performances i saw, but their personalities really where the cherry on top! Maybe if you have time and want to you can listen to my fav TXT song called Farewell, Neverland. Its just..pretty. beautiful. emotional. With that i will stop crowding your comment section😂 Thank you for liking TXT💙
Disagree. NewJeans' concept isn't anything new or actually mind-blowing anyone could've done the 2000s McBling aesthetic. NewJeans was just the one who kickstarted the whole subculture.
@@CherrieJellyBeanie "Anyone could have done that" yeah but they didn't till new jeans did it. And they are the group with the most PAK in the whole kpop industry. Do u even understand the sh*t that comes out of ur mouth??
7:33 help thats my fav part of ill see you there tmrw 😆😆😆😆 that part feels so sparkly and dancy to me lmaooo for me i just didn't vibe with the fact they kept repeating that "ill see you there tmrw" line like 5 times LMAOOO
Oh this was a great video, all of the songs mentioned are amazing and I love the video format and concept, you've got a new subscriber right there. I don't think I can ever take a strict break from Kpop, but I normalised leaving some releases "for a rainy day", so I don't get overwhelmed by the amount of music, I consume and come back to them, when I feel like it. I think listening to all kinds of music, outside Kpop helps a bit with the trends, so it doesn't affect me as much, but if I hear another basic retro song, I might just not even listen to the whole song, like that was a loooong trend😅.
I think we get tired of the same type of music because like you said kpop follow trends , therefore kpop lacks originality , for me i would love to see more k R&b , seeing kpop touch on ALT rock like jhope , for me personally i think i never grt tired of kpop because im mostly listening to kpop ballads 😭 amd im always looking for nee groups to stan , EVERYONE HATED sticker by NCTU but i loved it personally just because of the flute😭😭
i've fallen into the vocaloid hole alongside kpop and the instrumental of i'll see you there tomorrow reminds me so much of sasakure.uk's songs, makes brain go brr with the techy sounds
watching this i feel like you as well as others will just always end up getting sick of the sounds you loved at one point and i can’t fault the music for that, and it’s no one’s fault really like people can get bored and that’s fine, i just always happen to find music and groups that i just so happen to love, sometimes the trendsetter or the blueprint doesn’t really get me to be into a certain trend and someone who just took the trend and ran with it could make something that will appeal to me more so i’m really not against trends fundamentally
I have not seen the whole video yet but just wanted to say noise music, for me, started with NCT back in 2016 and not Stray Kids. Stray Kids succeeded them. Just hoped NCT would be mentioned too for noise music.
I really wish more groups who took more risks & did something different got recognised. It only seems this worked with Newjeans, which is nice since they did something that wasn't done for eras in K Pop. But there are also other groups doing the same but don't get recognition. Kiss of Life are doing Rnb so well and have yet to win a music award in music shows, it seems they are getting slowly noticed but not enough. I would love to see a K pop girl group who did Jazz music as their style. But the issue is the minute something different is a success, the whole industry copies it and that becomes oversatured like how UK garage due to Newjeans.
i did take a break but not really bc i was getting bored with the music it's bc of my adhd making me hyperfixate on video games but tbh i feel good coming back to so much new music
Talk that talk cant be a newjeans copy when they came out during the same time, comeback preparations take months of planning. The first time ive seen y2k being in kpop was in dumb dumb by somi, you cant sit with us by sunmi and the feels by twice. Newjeans was unique more on the music than the concept because y2k was already emerging in 2021. But like i get ur point, I just wanted to point that out.
I agree, but when did I mention talk that talk in this video? 😭 I remember I put an mv clip as a visual, only in reference to the y2k aesthetic. But I didnt mention that song
@@Jayegato fr i first saw yoyo 50 minutes after it was released (it only had 5k views!) and let me tell you i was HOOKED! their concept, lyrics, mvs, literally everything about them is perfection.
honestly i was sooo burnt out of kpop after 2022 and was abt to drop it.. but like this year and last year, releases from TWS, boynextdoor, and zb1 just refreshed my inner burn. 5th gen concepts these days are just so different than what i’ve normally seen. TWS’s fresh concept and boynextdoor’s weird concept combo immensely improved my view on kpop.
I have only a little. At first I was very turned off, but I did start to vibe with them more and more. I haven’t listened to boom bap hip hop in a while so it was refreshing when I got to xxl
I don’t know if the majority here would like these groups, but two suggestions I have here; One) Xdinary heroes. If you like nineties and two thousands punk or journey style ballads, this is the group for you. I’ve been a fan since their debut and so far every album has been super interesting. They can do metal or a ballad and it goes hard. The songs I’d suggest are “PLUTO” from LIVELOCK, and “Good Enough” from Deadlock. Two) PLAVE. So to clear things up, a lot of people think that plave isn’t real. They think they’re AI, but they’re people wearing mocap suits, which leads to the interesting concept of virtual idols. Me personally, song suggestions are “Watch me woo!” From asterum 134-1, and “The sixth summer” from Asterum: the shape of things to come. Their music is generally closer to pop music, but they’re self-produced so it feels like they actually put care into it. me personally I’m not super into mainstream music trends (only exceptions are txt and skz) so these are my main groups.
It breaks my heart that kpop stans are now complaining about the y2k-fication of the genre and calling it overdone when it JUST started🥲 atp it feels like chasing whatever's trendy and not the quality of music being produced
This is why I like aespa and Dream Catcher so much. I never get bored of their music. Other groups that are creeping up on me are RIIZE, Wooah, Purple Kiss and Tribe (I don't know if that's the correct spelling, sorry). Stream aespa Supernova y'all ✨
I feel like kpop groups have been losing macro group concept & personality. They debuted more kpop groups with faster training time, but some are not ready. Back then we can see group concept, and there are MV concept. You can see how every group is different from each other. SJ is different from Shinee, Nuest is different from Exo, Snsd is different than Sistar, also different from 2NE1. Their entire group concept is different Since 4th gen and now 5th..., they all almost the same. New jeans is indeed a "fresh air" in this era, because they actually have group concept.
LMAO. I was recording and I was like “you know what let me just try this” and ended up keeping it in because I thought it was funny and unexpected 😭 hope it didn’t hurt any ears though
🤔🤔🤔 i assume why trends are needed while also why they are hated, when something has been done for a long ass amount of time (for example survival shows making use of heavy evil editing to gain traction, songs that are 2 mins long only, certain sounds that invoke the feeling of nostalgia) it can definitely feel tiring for sure lol For me what i took away personally from this vid is that whatever makes you feel like the happiest person alive can be through multiple means, whether thats thru music, books or other things all of us should have something that makes us feel like life is worth it! When we do things that are uninteresting to us, thats when we feel life getting too repetitive 😅 Omg sorry for the long message, hope you kinda understand where im going at with this 😅🥲🥲 Wishing you a lovely day, lovelyyyyy 🩷🩷
I’m so glad we can all have different opinions and take always from this topic! Thank you for sharing yours. What you said rings very true for me personally. Have a lovely day as well ❤️❤️
I personally think ARTMS and kiss of life will probably be the most interesting groups as they dont just follow trends. Ive been feeling frustrated with the amount of songs that are just carbon copies of one another and I hope more groups will debut with unique sounds.
i don’t think the y2k aesthetic was caused by newjeans that was beeen trending in the west. newjeans sound itself was still a throwback so not crazy different than retro just a newer era. groups that try to match nj’s (illicit or w/e their name is) are boring as shit. personally i think kpop is in a very dull place still
I also wouldn’t mind songs in the genre of seventeen dino’s wait. I got overshadowed because they immediately started promoting god of music but the production is so good
I also hate y2k (always have tho… I didn’t want the retro trend to end it’s still so amazing) but why is ur editing style still screaming y2k to me (and by y2k I don’t mean.. y2k… I mean 2020s version of y2k bc even tho I wasn’t alive there it’s obviously very different lol)
Yeah it def falls into that ajanugu category of retro elements with y2k influence. 😭 maybe ironic for a video that talks about both trends. Or maybe that makes it more fitting.
IVE have stayed away from being effected with trends and have brought amazing music from the time of their debu. Idk why you guys miss literally the biggest girl group rightnow and only include newjeans. Also, regarding newjeans...the trend they brought got so boring fast that their next releases were not as good to the ears as Attention or Hype boy was. Ditto is the only song that i still listen to meanwhile attention hype boy omg etc are all skips now. The songs are too short too. As much as i loved Newjeans at first i'll have to say their hype was undeserving. Now its the same story with Illit. Also how can we forget Gidle, this group has my outmost respect. They bring the funny , weird , and crackhead energy of kpop. 🎉

Regardless, this was a fun video to watch. I love how expressive you are, and your editing is really cool! I'll be sure to check the songs you mentioned liking out!🩵💜🩵💜
Thank you for your perspective and kind words!
Oh honestly same. Most groups who cover the genre do it in a very surface level way. I find myself not enjoying most of these songs
Rightt. I never understand when people call bridges boring and a waste of space 😭 they’re so beloved by anyone who doesn’t get their music from tiktok
@@Jayegato exactly thisss!! you're genuinely my new favourite ktuber i swear
@@라이므리 AWW HAHA TYSM
Yeah the bridge is so satisfying…It gets you hyped for the last chorus.
I've been praying for more bridges, they're so versatile like Heya's for example. We don't always need a 2min song with drums and yelling added to the last chorus
I just KNOW Rescene are going to be huge one day! They already are so talented.
Fr
For real i didn't liked y2k from the very start and I was so worried when other groups started to do this concept (it was like why2k). But it's good we have now something different and i hope each group could find their own style.
everything is made to invoke nostalgia nowadays (even for audiences who havent even experiencedthat time period they are referencing, like, nj is referencing late 1990s-early 2000s, when they themselves were born at that time lol)... now i can barely understand what nostalgia really is lol
great video!!!!!! i feel like one of the groups that really fit into the ''breath of fresh air'' thing is ZB1.
God I love zb1
Thank you for the feedback! I def also love billie, they’re so special
Also omg the clips being edited into the tv I LOVE IT thats so gud 💙💙💙
AHH THANK YOU. I worked so hard on the visual aspects of this video. It warms my heart to see it be appreciated
your voice is so calming to listen ton to fr
That’s so nice, thanks
the editing is so good!
The way you incoroprated the Odd Eye Circle teaser sound in the intro is chef's kiss!!!
Edit: ok, the entire video is so smoothly edited. The concent is intelligent. New subscriber here!
Thank you!! I’m so glad you noticed
The thing that I do if I’m feeling like everything sounds the same , is just trying out new K-pop artist for example 2 gen or listening to older tracks from groups I like for example TXT cuz most of the time older tracks sound completely different from newer ones. (Just to make it clear I’m mostly listening to K-pop and not for example main stream cuz I like the mix between korean and English, also I love the bridges in most song I listen to ) 😊
By the way great video I agree with every point.❤❤
Dream catcher, billie, artms, and purki? Oh you have tastes
This is such an eye opener wth
Quite honestly that is why I love groups like NCT or Loona. They have endless potential to try out different styles and concepts with their sub-units. Personally I loved it when they did the concept change for the empathy album, til this day "go" by NCT dream and "touch" by NCT 127 are two of my favorite NCT songs ever! ^^
& Loonas sub-units exchanging songs for their concerts was always one of my favorite parts!
And for NCT and Loona it doesn't feel like chasing trends, but more so creating trends lol ^^
I remember back when Limitless (NCT 127) was released and everyone was hating on the styling, but they basically did a Y2K thing before everyone else and they stayed true to the style (it has to be at least a little bit ugly to be trendy Y2K, you know)
And then Loona doing lore before everyone else and making it a trend.
(For example (non bside) Lovesong/Loser=Lover +Tomboy, Tinnitus +Smart, Ill see you there Tomorrow/Deep Down + new Riize song) i am so done💀
Everytime they did something that was in trend, they did it better. For example Frost (bside). Listenable Noise.
Their discography is full of different sounds thats why as an only Moa I have nothing to complain about because I don't have to rely on trends. I listen to TXT and get something fresh all the time🤷♀️
Hope one day they get the recognition they deserve...
I honestly love how much moa’s bat for the boys. you guys are always so passionate 😭 thank you for this comment
@@Jayegato i think we really believe in them and their art🥹
My whole heart screams "these 5 boys deserve everything". They give us the music, the performances, the geniun love for their craft. They work hard, but dont take anything for granted and are humble ( from what other people who met and worked with them say about them i really believe in them being good people). Just 5 best friends doing their best against all ods (bighit at the forefront...)
I cry warching them and honestly i dont know how they bring out such emotions in me.
@@Jayegato oh no dont make me bawl😭😂

Oh this was a great video, all of the songs mentioned are amazing and I love the video format and concept, you've got a new subscriber right there.
I don't think I can ever take a strict break from Kpop, but I normalised leaving some releases "for a rainy day", so I don't get overwhelmed by the amount of music, I consume and come back to them, when I feel like it. I think listening to all kinds of music, outside Kpop helps a bit with the trends, so it doesn't affect me as much, but if I hear another basic retro song, I might just not even listen to the whole song, like that was a loooong trend😅.
I think we get tired of the same type of music because like you said kpop follow trends , therefore kpop lacks originality , for me i would love to see more k R&b , seeing kpop touch on ALT rock like jhope , for me personally i think i never grt tired of kpop because im mostly listening to kpop ballads 😭 amd im always looking for nee groups to stan , EVERYONE HATED sticker by NCTU but i loved it personally just because of the flute😭😭
knew this video would hit the second i heard the static sounds from "did you wait" in ur intro
Love your editing style sm!
Thank you!
i've fallen into the vocaloid hole alongside kpop and the instrumental of i'll see you there tomorrow reminds me so much of sasakure.uk's songs, makes brain go brr with the techy sounds
Debut is a French word, and the t is silent, though everyone in Kpop land seems to want to change that for some reason.
As an English speaker. I sometimes pronounce things with an English accent! I hope this helps
watching this i feel like you as well as others will just always end up getting sick of the sounds you loved at one point and i can’t fault the music for that, and it’s no one’s fault really like people can get bored and that’s fine, i just always happen to find music and groups that i just so happen to love, sometimes the trendsetter or the blueprint doesn’t really get me to be into a certain trend and someone who just took the trend and ran with it could make something that will appeal to me more so i’m really not against trends fundamentally
7:11 you literally described it so well. It's exactly what i feel, like i just dissolve

But the issue is the minute something different is a success, the whole industry copies it and that becomes oversatured like how UK garage due to Newjeans.
i hope rescene will get managed well and grow steadily. i love their songs so far
i did take a break but not really bc i was getting bored with the music it's bc of my adhd making me hyperfixate on video games but tbh i feel good coming back to so much new music

2:51 you won’t believe how happy I got when I heard ReScene first in this vid 🤩🤩
honestly i was sooo burnt out of kpop after 2022 and was abt to drop it.. but like this year and last year, releases from TWS, boynextdoor, and zb1 just refreshed my inner burn. 5th gen concepts these days are just so different than what i’ve normally seen. TWS’s fresh concept and boynextdoor’s weird concept combo immensely improved my view on kpop.
have you listened to young posse? i wanna know about your thoughts on them!
I have only a little. At first I was very turned off, but I did start to vibe with them more and more. I haven’t listened to boom bap hip hop in a while so it was refreshing when I got to xxl
I don’t know if the majority here would like these groups, but two suggestions I have here;
One) Xdinary heroes.
I FREAKING LOVE PLAVE. Outside of Korea, I feel like they’re so underrated 😭

Their entire group concept is different
Since 4th gen and now 5th..., they all almost the same. New jeans is indeed a "fresh air" in this era, because they actually have group concept.
2:42 the screaming bit gave me a jump scare at first lmaoooo 😆😆😆😆
LMAO. I was recording and I was like “you know what let me just try this” and ended up keeping it in because I thought it was funny and unexpected 😭 hope it didn’t hurt any ears though
Lmaooo it did make me giggle a lot 😆😆😆 it was a great decision for you to keep that part in
enjoyed the video :D
Yay!
Retro concept better than new jeans concept
personally i like newjeans's concept more :))
Its crazy to thing a rookie can set their name apart from others with concept
🤔🤔🤔 i assume why trends are needed while also why they are hated, when something has been done for a long ass amount of time (for example survival shows making use of heavy evil editing to gain traction, songs that are 2 mins long only, certain sounds that invoke the feeling of nostalgia) it can definitely feel tiring for sure lol
For me what i took away personally from this vid is that whatever makes you feel like the happiest person alive can be through multiple means, whether thats thru music, books or other things all of us should have something that makes us feel like life is worth it! When we do things that are uninteresting to us, thats when we feel life getting too repetitive 😅
Omg sorry for the long message, hope you kinda understand where im going at with this 😅🥲🥲

i don’t think the y2k aesthetic was caused by newjeans that was beeen trending in the west. newjeans sound itself was still a throwback so not crazy different than retro just a newer era. groups that try to match nj’s (illicit or w/e their name is) are boring as shit. personally i think kpop is in a very dull place still
I also wouldn’t mind songs in the genre of seventeen dino’s wait.
Or maybe that makes it more fitting.
you narate your videos like yandere dev💀💀

LMAO
