I was fucking losing it when Scottys just trying to share his passion for sandstone. Also can't believe you decided to punch the rapid with yer feet hanging out the side. The bit where you towed the rafts and you almost lost it, must just be the she oaks but reminded me of Turon so much. Great video Mattsy.

What an adventure Mattsy people who have never experienced time spent in wild country like the mountains or even the outback have never really lived it's those kind of places that make me feel alive I've spent a large part of my 74 years on this planet exploring ,hunting and fishing the wild places and it's great to have company but to do it on your own is the best.The memories of the times spent never leave you.

This trip was highly entertaining! I laughed out loud through both yours and Scotty's. However, the location was just phenomenal ... there's something surreal about those moments where you find yourself alone (or with a companion) in a vast wilderness that overwhelms and inspires. "How is it that only I/we are here? To enjoy and savour all of this?" Yet, also gratitude that being witness to such a place without the crowds of other humans because then, one can really listen, observe, take it in. Of course, there's also that edge of appreciation for the fact, "I could die out here." Anyhow, I hope both continue to take adventures together from time to time!

Yes!! Man I said a few videos ago i was going to do Kosciuszko. I did it the hard way.. Hannels spur. There was a 1 in 20 year weather event! Basically a white out. Was pretty nuts. Navigation was nuts. Gotta be honest the first colab you and Scotty did got me onto your channel and I said to my missus he’s defence or ex defence. I’m defence too. Can always tell. Quick question, do you have a self-bailing raft? I've been looking to get into a bit of low-class whitewater this summer, but don't have a ton of experience with pack rafts.

And yeah mine is a self bailer. If you don’t think you’ll get into the whole whitewater rafting sport but more to be able to explore sections of rivers for adventures and stuff, I’d probably recommend a non self bailer in the thinner 210?? Material. It’ll roll down to half the size and you could just about pack it inside your pack with everything else haha
This one rolls down to the size of an old school mat roll, bit chunkier, and you have to strap it somewhere on your pack. It’s probably around 4kilos. Non bailer with thinner material is much lighter and compact.
But yeah, depends what your long term intentions are because it is an investment. Happy hunting mate!
Actually on that note, check if they do self bailers in the lighter material first. They may actually do that. I’m just assuming they’d all be the tougher stuff but I could be wrong. If so, see how small they pack down and decide. I’ll probably downsize mine at some point.

I actually just impulse-bought a pack raft on FB Marketplace for a pretty dang good deal, primarily to throw in my car for a big road trip later this year. It was only after I bought it that I started doing more research on the different types of rafts. This one is a pretty burly bucket type, great for taking a lot of abuse but definitely not the lightest or smallest pack size. I don't have plans to do much more than class 2, maybe some light class 3, so I guess I'll just send it with a non-bailer and see what happens.

Hi Michelle, it’s a friend of mine ‘Caity Dee’ but the song isn’t available anywhere as she never finished it 😂 You are probably the 1000th person to be saddened by this. Believe me I’ve tried to get her to finish it but they’ve just had a baby so I doubt it’ll happen for a while if ever. 😢
