I absolutely enjoyed this review, very insightful! i just got gifted this deck yesterday and really excited to begin. When you spoke on the reversals not being done in this deck did you mean that the cards have never been in the reversed position when you gave a reading or even when they did reverse you just chose to read them as the non reversed way
First what a brilliant gift you've been given! This was my first deck, also a gift AND it is what has me loving Tarot to this day! I hope you'll love it. What I meant by reversals not used on this deck is that the breadth of meaning is described right on the card in the upright position. So, you need not turn the image upside down to see the more challenging side of the messages of a card. With this deck in particular the images are very detailed and would be difficult to see clearly if they were upside down. If the message you are meant to receive has a delay, resistance, opposition, etc. you will see that right in the description. It's a nice, simple way to see the potential messaging in the card without distorting the image to do so. That said, if you are more comfortable with reversals, then by all means use them. With this deck you could reverse some cards and if they show up in your reading, make note of them and when you turn them upright, read the message as a delay, resistance or the opposite of the message on the front. I think it really depends on your reversal reading style. I've never personally found reversals necessary for full messaging with this deck. Great question and thank you for the comment. All the best to you with this deck. It's a real charmer! VERY clear!

Hi Tani. When Doreen left the divination community and became born again Christian she denounced our community and even asked us to burn our decks and to never use them again. She was one of the first to help bridge the way from religion to spirituality and divination and helped so many to find this practice only to turn around and burn that bridge and make many folks question themselves. I have great respect for what she has created and contributed to our community but, it was really difficult for people to understand her 180 turn to say the very practice she was so much a part of was evil. I have no ill will toward her at all. That is the basis of the controversy though.
@@GlindasGuidance I am sad to hear that Doreen left the divination community. Her work is incredible! I could actually see where Doreen is coming from. I do not want to freak people out but when my significant other bought this powerful deck a couple of years back and we were using it to know about our futures. During my reading, my spirit guide came to me and told me to never use tarot to know about our future. It made me a question for a while if using Tarot/ Oracle is a wise idea to use after all. Now I use oracle and or tarots as a tool to look into the problem or situation that I am facing. Once I know what it is it is up to me to move forward. I plan to do this as well if I am going to use tarot/ oracle cards to help others.
@@katherinemahlum178 Doreen is a lovely soul and I wish her prosperity, joy and peace on her newest adventure. I agree that her decks made a huge impact on the industry and have always been some of my favorites for their spot on insights. As far as reading the "future", I don't think that any of us can "know" that very well. We can have ideas of the probabilities and see where the trajectory of the present is heading IF we stay the course but, the future is always mutable and influenced by the collective consciousness and the Divine. I too use these divination tools as a reflection of the present moment and a peek at the current energy and where that might take us. Much like a weather forecast, I find there is nothing wrong with seeing a possible storm up ahead and bringing an umbrella. If the storm doesn't show up, we won't be unhappy that we have an umbrella. If the storm does show up, we'll be happy we were at least a little prepared. Best wishes to you and your clients as you divine. And thank you so much for your comment I truly appreciate it!
Of course we have our very own path to walk, but going from Tarot and spiritualism to fundamental Christianity is going backwards. I left fundamentalist Christians years ago, and with Bible never shutting up about endless murder to advance one nation's agenda I just don't understand how someone (Doreen Virtue) coming from love, light and freedom of spiritualism can embrace such teachings. Oh well.
It is very difficult to understand other people's journeys. And I can't say what prompted Doreen to take the path she has. But I have another friend who has taken a very similar path and has now returned to a place where she has a relationship again with the tarot (Fundamentalist Christian - to Tarot/Spirituality - to devout Christian and cutting ties with tarot (and tarot friends) - back to Tarot). Now, more than ever, on our Earth it is time to have compassion and to try our best to understand that people have been deeply programmed and led by fears that seem very irrational to others. And to be resilient and allow others to change their minds and their experiences. We don't' have to accept them back into our lives if it's not right for us but, I like to think that we can take the pieces of that experience that resonate and still enjoy them. As I have with Doreen's decks. I wish she hadn't taken this path and in doing so spread fear and doubt into the minds and hearts of her followers but she has and each person's relationship with that experience is very personal and I don't think we should judge it. I do thank you so much for your comment on my channel! I really appreciate the discussion, especially since I got my start in tarot with this particular deck and from taking Doreen's course with Radleigh. I will forever be grateful for the experience even though I no longer resonate with her current expressions.
@@GlindasGuidance The irony is that after ignoring all bloody military escapades of outright genocide (let's kill everyone who is not of our freshly baked Judaic religion) and outright fairytales that Bible consists of, and concentrating on "prophets" only, one can see how strikingly similar prophets' experiences of their premonition dreams are, including their conversations with spirit entities (so-called angels, although in many cases I think those were dark entities, ordering to kill), use of divination tools (urim and thummim), and later Christian practice of "expelling demons", or in modern terms spirit release of those who attached themselves to their victims who still live in their physical bodies (Carl Wickland's book "Thirty Years Among the Dead" is an example of such treatment), and so on and so forth - all this is so identical to what countless spiritualists across the globe do nowadays. But Bible was canonised, accepted as the only way for people living in the Northern Hemisphere and used to demonise anyone who'd have suchlike abilities in modern days. What Bible suggests that people with such "supernatural" abilities died thousands of years ago, and nobody has them anymore, and if they do - they have them from the mythical creature called Satan. Ironically, those who kill people in this realm go to the lower, darker spheres of Afterlife, called Shadowlands, because murder is inconsistent with Light, so we can easily trace the origins of the Biblical "God", who would not think much of ordering to exterminate entire nations, including innocent babies, at least 2.500.000 people as recorded in the Bible itself, and countless more by those who followed this religion in the last 2000 years. Again, writers of the Bible had very little understanding of Afterlife, and they strike me as someone who has more of a Darwinian "you only live once" concept, creating passages that I assume Doreen refers to, where Bible says that those practicing divination should be exterminated from the face of earth. Charming. Also, completely pointless, as all you'd do by killing is simply discarnate individuals from their physical bodies, as it is impossible to kill anyone in a real sense since we are immortal, therefore all these threats of Biblical God and Christ coming back and killing all unfaithful is an empty threat, as all you'd be doing is just speeding up their transition to Afterlife, where they proceed according to what kind of personality they had, not beliefs they've held. It's very perplexing to see how Doreen didn't grasp very basics of Afterlife to fall for Bible controversial and oftentimes cruel doctrines. These are very serious facts and questions that we need to pay our attention to if we want to be supporters of Light, love and compassion, and we ought to be honest while at it.

The irony is that after ignoring all bloody military escapades of outright genocide (let's kill everyone who is not of our freshly baked Judaic religion) and outright fairytales that Bible consists of, and concentrating on "prophets" only, one can see how strikingly similar prophets' experiences of their premonition dreams are, including their conversations with spirit entities (so-called angels, although in many cases I think those were dark entities, ordering to kill), use of divination tools (urim and thummim), and later Christian practice of "expelling demons", or in modern terms spirit release of those who attached themselves to their victims who still live in their physical bodies (Carl Wickland's book "Thirty Years Among the Dead" is an example of such treatment), and so on and so forth - all this is so identical to what countless spiritualists across the globe do nowadays.
