    Thanks for doing this video. Another great offering! For me at 60 years of age and my wife at 58 years of age who are still quite active, getting the new 2.0 version was the only bike available that checked all the boxes. Even though they are Chinese made bikes, it's an American company that sells them with hundreds if not thousands of positive reviews. They are priced so I could afford to buy two of them. The 2.0 version has front suspension, and has a rear rack and has fenders included like with the 1.0 version. They fold so they will fit in a storage tote and inside my RV when traveling. They ship as a class 2 bike so we can ride them just about anywhere. They will last if taken care of. The company offers replacement/extra batteries that are less expensive than others offer and many other things that are less important to us but still nice to have like wider handlebars, more water resistant etc. The only negatives are having to wait for them and having to pay upfront but it's the way the world is right now so we have to be patient like with everything else.

      Thank you and I agree 100%. The Lectric checked all my boxes and made it possible for me to get two as well. Pretty much all ebikes are made in China but at least Lectric is based here where a lot of others aren’t. Their customer service is great! The 2.0 will be perfect for RVing for sure😁. I can’t wait for your’s to arrive so you can finally see how great they are!! 🤞🏼

    Congrats on 100 subs! The fastest way to grow a channel that I've seen is to make a lot of 5 to 12 minute videos. People who do that seem to just explode on TH-cam. We can hardly wait to get our step through bikes from Lectric. Where did you film this, looks like a big place?

    • @ReflectionsofOurLife
      @ReflectionsofOurLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much! It's really hard to made short videos when you're basically doing a biking vlog type video. So many send messages that they like my commentary on the videos so I'd feel like I was shorting them. I'm actually a pretty shy guy and have always tried to stay out of pictures and videos which is what makes this channel so crazy to me. I just really feel comfortable talking to you guys. I have noticed that about 75 to 80 percent of my viewers aren't even subscribers...maybe they don't like the long videos :) But as you can see, when I get a chance to talk, I have a hard time stopping LOL!! By the way, I filmed this at a park about 1/2 mile from my house in Fairmont, West Virginia. It's a town of about 19,000 people which is a decent size town in this state. Fairmont is about 15 minutes south of Morgantown, WV if you've every heard of that.

      @@ReflectionsofOurLife I certainly applaud you for putting yourself out there by making these videos. It's not easy to do that. If I am interested in a subject, and I have the time, I enjoy longer videos too. Most of the time life interferes and it becomes a matter of priorities. It's my fault for subbing so many great people. I believe I've heard of Fairmont, and for sure Morgantown.

      @@ReflectionsofOurLife I got a msg from Lectric after my inquiry into the 2.0 xp. I am going analyze the new model. I don't really need the 4" tires because I am too wise to ride on dirt at my age. 3" tires makes more sense for me. Got the new sprocket last night. It's nickel plated & almost too pretty to install on the bike. We shall see. Lectric is a class company. I can tell by talking to them. The 18th is next week. Hahaha...you definitely have a way with words!!! I saw a video of the new bike and it’s pretty intriguing! Looks very much the same with the black and white options. The baskets can be taken off easily and without them, it looks identical except for the front forks. They really need to have suspension on the back wheel since you set so upright on the seat. The back wheel going over bumps is what gets to your rear end and back the most.

      @@ReflectionsofOurLife I grew up in rural Ontario, Canada. The traffic here in Queens terrifies me. - But speaking of waiting, I received an offer to upgrade to the new 2.0 Lectric bike. It has front shocks, wider handlebars, water resistance certification, mount points for front and rear baskets, and 3" tires instead of 4". I think it's worth upgrading, but I haven't received the actual upgrade offer yet, and don't know what that is going to do for the wait-period... Time will tell. There is a fellow from the city who posts Lectric XP rides all over the 5 boroughs. His you tube channels is "RAW" - sounds awful aggressive, but it's quite tame and well-done videos, if you're interested in seeing city street riding, as well as many of the parks round and about (as he's constantly dodging people hahaha). It'll bring you both the wonder of the big city, as well as the appreciation of living where you do.

I must say that they look pretty good but the wait time will tell how may switch I guess. Funny you mention it but I have seen several of the videos from "RAW". I can across them a week or so ago. Now he has nerves of steel!! I enjoy his rides through NYC though! Talk to you soon, John

    I have seen every youtube video ever made about Lectric XP bikes. I decided early, based on years of bicycling experience in various terrains and conditions, that I do not need the unnecessary weight of a front suspension fork for the type of riding I plan to do with it. From the many videos, it seems to me that a Lectric XP, as well as several other folding electric bikes would meet my needs. When I ordered my XP in March 2021, I really thought I would be riding it before Summer. Unfortunately, it now looks like that will not be the case. I have seen two other folding electric bikes for sale locally at a price of either $300 or $400 higher in price. I'm beginning to believe that I should have bought one of those and rode it out of the shop. This is not a problem specific to Lectric, however, because almost everything I have ordered from Amazon has also been greatly delayed, so don't believe anyone's delivery time estimates.

    • @ReflectionsofOurLife
      @ReflectionsofOurLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Max and thanks for dropping by. I hear what you are saying and totally understand. I ordered my two bikes last year in September and received them in about 4 or 5 weeks. Since then, it seems there has been a run on ebikes and most brands that you have to order seem to have huge wait times. I'm part of a facebook group and all they talk about is how long it is taking for delivery. The main problem is that there is a shortage in parts just like the lumber and other industries because of COVID and other outside influences that makes them harder to get put together and shipped. Buying one locally might be the thing to do if you can find one that is up to your needs. We tend to nit pick these bikes until the cows come home but it really comes down to what is right for you and your timeframe. It definitely is frustrating though and I feel your pain!

    I’ve had a knee replacement and I’m looking for an e bike, what are some opinions on that? I am 6’ tall so I don’t think I would need a step through for the height purpose. I’m wondering also if the seat will raise up high enough for my long legs?

    • @ReflectionsofOurLife
      @ReflectionsofOurLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kathy...I'm glad you stopped by and asked 😊 First of all, I'm your height and still have plenty of adjustment for the seat. I've actually seen a guy that was 6'5'' ride one of these bikes and had no problems. I've personally never seen a bike with such a long seat tube as the Lectric! Actually, the regular bike's seat tube is a couple of inches longer than the step through but I have both and am able to fit just fine on either. Now to the second part of your question. My wife just had a hip replacement 4 1/2 weeks ago and just started riding her bike the other day. We did a 12 mile ride Saturday evening and she was able to do that just fine. I haven't had a knee replacement but I do have a pretty bad knee. I bought these bike just because of that and if you look at some of my other videos, I don't have any problem at all with it. The great thing about these bikes is that you can peddle as much or as little as you want depending on how you feel. You can even ride with just the throttle and not peddle at all if you don't want to. I don't know if you have subscribed to my channel or not but I will do a video showing and talking about how good these bikes are for all kinds of bodily issues. If you'd like to subscribe, you will be notified when I post a new video. I hope this helps! 😊

    My lectric black step through in coming in two weeks. How did you get that side mirror on? Is there a cap on the side of the bike you can remove or do you have to cut it with a knife? You have to cut out the rubber on the end of the handlebar. The first Lectric video I have on my channel is a bike review. In it, I show myself putting the mirror on my wife’s step through. That might help show you how it works. We are very fortunate to have tons of bike trails here and most of them are very easy to get to. There are a few that I have to get there with my truck but they aren’t to far. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. re: "is this ebike right for you", I've found that ebikes in general probably aren't right for me. If you're a healthy cyclist already and can comfortably go ~12-15mph, there's not much upside to having an ebike that can go up to 28mph. Even at max speed you're still too slow to fit in with cars on any public road, and safety is a legit concern at 25+ mph IMO with the roads I'm dealing with. If you want to go >20mph for extended periods of time you're probably better off with a proper moped or motorcycle. And if you're staying in the 15-20mph range, you're mostly just giving up exercise in exchange for slightly more speed. I was hoping the higher speeds would open up more options for commuting safely, but that isn't really the case.
    The other interesting thing is that on my ebike I'm mostly only using lower pedal assist modes that use under 150 watts of power. So anything 500+ watts ought to be more than enough power unless you're heavy and throttle-only and going up hills and such (and at that point, maybe you ought to be more interested in motorcycles anyway).
    Having said that, I'm still a bit interested in the XP for winter fun due to the low price point. I don't have any fat tire bikes yet.

    • @ReflectionsofOurLife
      @ReflectionsofOurLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi OrdinaryHuman and thanks for stopping by. I hear where you are coming about ebikes. I guess people have different reasons for wanting an ebike. I can't speak for everyone about why they wanted an ebike but for me and my wife, they opened up a whole world of opportunity. We have a few factors against us that don't allow us to get out and enjoy all the trails we have in this area. We are both getting up there in age. My wife has had a hip issue for a while and can barely walk a few hundred yards without having to call it quits and I myself have knee issues and at nearly 300lbs. needed something to allow me to get out and enjoy nature a little more. Biking for very long hurts my knees as does walking so having a bicycle with pedal assist to help when I need it was my biggest selling point. Very similar reasons for my wife. For us, speed has nothing to do with it but having that motor as backup is everything. Where we usually went out for maybe a mile or so walk or ride, I can do 20 mile rides and enjoy more of the outdoors while burning calories at the same time. We also live in a very mountainous state where regular biking is much more difficult and again, our stamina isn't what it used to be. We usually stay on bike trails so keeping up with cars isn't a problem here. The XP is also a lot of fun and can make a quick trip to the local store a lot easier than walking or taking the gas guzzler 😄 I get nothing but compliments and interest when I'm out on mine.

    People watching this TH-cam video should know that I ordered a bike back in early March, and still have not received any shipping information. Please don't believe the six weeks on their website, total nonsense. I'm expecting five months before I receive my bike. I have no idea how these people are staying in business with service like this.

    • @ReflectionsofOurLife
      @ReflectionsofOurLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I totally understand your frustration. I’m not affiliated with Lectric in any way and not trying to make excuses for them but, unfortunately, with most all ebikes coming from China, American suppliers have very little control over when they receive them and are able to ship them out. The estimated ship times are given based on historical timeframes that they have had. With the growth of ebike sales, COVID restrictions and the US’s relationship with China recently, we are kind of at their mercy. I’d say that most companies are having trouble filling orders quickly unless they are a lower sales quantity company and have them stocked up. Hopefully, everyone will get through this and they will start shipping quickly.

    • @Deltro61
      @Deltro61 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do get that many businesses are suffering from delays due to Covid. We are pretty much seeing that everywhere. What I am bothered by is the fact that Lectric continues to tell people six weeks on their web site. And it wasn't that long ago, they wrote everyone to say to expect another week delay because they were hand checking FedEx orders, or something along those lines. Letric has 50 employees. I have a hard time believing it would take that many people a week to re-check labels. They also told me probably five or six weeks ago now, the bikes would ship next week, and I had priority because I ordered back in March. Then I came to find out that they didn't even have the bikes in the warehouse. Maybe they were sitting in a cargo ship in the Pacific Ocean, who knows, but they certainly did not have them on hand ready to ship. Then is was custom delay, always something.
      Bottom line is they're lying to the public, and people have a right to know that. That doesn't mean their product is crap or that they don't stand behind their product, they just need to stop lying to people about delivery dates.

    • @ReflectionsofOurLife
      @ReflectionsofOurLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear you. If you go to any Facebook Lectric group this is the main topic of almost every post. They definitely need to get better at leveling with customers and not give false hope of the bikes coming quickly. I ordered mine early last year and I can say they were much quicker then. It still took about 8 weeks to get but I can see it’s much worse now.
