Batu Caves is a striking limestone hill featuring significant cave temples, situated in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia. The site gets its name from the Stone River that flows past the hill and is renowned as one of the most popular Hindu shrines located outside India. The caves were discovered in 1892 and have since been developed into Hindu temples. A key highlight is the towering golden statue of Lord Murugan, standing at 42.7 meters, marking the entrance and serving as a prominent religious symbol. The complex comprises three main caves, with the Cathedral Cave being the largest and most frequented by visitors. To reach this cave, visitors must ascend a vividly painted 272-step staircase, which has become a famous photo spot. The Art Gallery Cave and Museum Cave at the base display a plethora of Hindu statues and paintings, while the Dark Cave offers educational and adventure opportunities. Batu Caves plays a pivotal role during the annual Hindu festival of Thaipusam, attracting thousands of devotees and spectators. Despite being a religious site, Batu Caves is open to visitors daily, offering a unique blend of cultural, historical, and physical experience. Visitors are advised to dress modestly and be mindful of the wildlife, particularly the monkeys, when exploring this magnificent site.

There’s a place where you can climb colorful rainbow- colored stairs,face the steep walls, and see Hindu sculptures and paintings.
