Thanks for the video! Cool thing to put in a switch like that!
I just rewired my touch lamp. It was different from yours. Mine just had two similar power cords, one to the plug and the other to the socket. No indication of white or black (neutral/hot) wires. No wire for a ground.
When I snipped out the module and wire nuts, I was left with these cords (regular power cords you can split in two). On these, one side is ridged, the other is smooth. After I took out the extra wires and wire nuts going to the module, I split the cords a bit, and stripped the end and reconnected the smooth to smooth and ridged to ridged. Just as you would with any simple lamp. I'm installing a cord switch, since it's a wall lamp over a desk, that is easiest.
I couldn't find many youtube videos about how to go from touch to switched lamp, so I thought I'd add my two cents, in case anyone runs into a similar situation. It took me a bit to figure out that it was just like rewiring a normal lamp, which I've done before.
All those different colored wires hooked up in threes using wire nuts threw me off at first.

Im trying to use smart bulbs in a touch lamp, and its a very annoying combo. The bulbs don't work at max brightness for one, so there are 2 settings that turn the lamp on, 1 thats off, and 1 that just flickers. The other issue is if you touch the lamp when the bulb is scheduled to be off, it wont turn on (and worse) wont update. That means when you try to fix it after it was supposed to turn on, its still in off mode until that time the next day.
    Thanks for the tutorial!

To replace the weight you could use lead tape as used in golf. You could stick it on the wood plate you install or tape it inside the bottom.

You do not explain the specifics of each wire connection like what wire is hot and which wire connects to which wire - so I can’t figure out how to do this -
