This is the best Longboarding movie i have seen this year. Digging the mic'd up riders, and the idea of following him in a car as he narrates is really smooth. This was perfect.
Hey Louie it's me Joey with Go Longboarding Day! This is sick. Thanks EG for linking me to this! This just changed my view on downhill bombing. Time to go practice!
@EinYeTi I'd stick with the 70mm's simply because it works with tons of free ride boards. 70mm is like the happy medium. Offset meaning the core is off-center, being slightly more towards the inside of the wheel.
The video edit was sick. The concept of narrating while freeriding is sick. The follow cam in the car is sick. (How did you guys mount the camera to get such a stable shot?) The skating is sick. THIS IS FCKING SICK! One of the best skate videos I've seen!
So today while longboarding me and my buddy did a check in a driveway at this rich neighborhood, and coming out of the driveway back onto to road we were stopped short by a hummer and almost hit it. We said we were sorry and waved, then he pulled into the driveway we just shot out of. AWKWARD. and we got bitched out for doing that. but, we hit the feature!!!! THANKS
@powking86 no it doesnt look close at the end. its not a vugenhaussen nor is the tail bolted on. i have a chopped voodoo xl with a kicktail bolted onto it.
@SnoMan1818 you should start by trying to make deeper and more charged carving. it also depends on how loose your trucks are + if your wheels have sharp edges ( not been broken in yet) it'll be more harder for you to slide. When you're carving you'll feel that in some point the wheels stop having contact with floor on that moment you'll realize your almost sliding after you get the idea of what it is it's just using the same science but trying to focus on the contact between wheels and floor.
@SummerConspiracy Yea I was thinking they look most like the 70mm or the 73mm but the 70's have a 50mm contact patch as opposed to the 73's with a 40mm so idk which would have been better for freeride as seen in the video. what do you mean by offset?
When you think about it, skating is a REALLY odd thing to love to do. People who don't skate never understand why we like it so much and if you put yourself in their shoes it kind of makes sense haha. I don't know what it is about skating that I love but I know I'll never stop doing it. To quote the great Louis Pilloni, "Get on your board, ride down a hill, grind a bank, snap an ollie. Skateboard."
Here I am a decade later, reading your comment as a novice longboarder, and this comment still rings true. I get funny looks or straight up amazement from people when I tell them I usually cover the 5 mile ride to my work on my board. And yes, it‘s not easy, but it‘s just so damn fun!
@TheZC13 practice practice ;). No seriously, PRACTICE like crazy. Usually I push uphill or anywhere switch, just to get experience. Lately I've committed full days to riding switch, doing slides, carving, even just grabbing rail and lightly bombing and tucking. It's REALLY tough at first, but after a month or three, you'll notice a LOT of growth. Also, you'll want a bidirectional board (symmetrical length-wise) so as to get those switch 180's to regular. Makes it more fun :)
i suggest to get a baseplate at like 44 degrees and get some VENOM SHR bushings and do a board side 91 red and road side 88 sea foam. its a really good combo for fast downhill and good freeride. just adjust the tighnest and ur good.
@SnoMan1818 well you should firstly start by using harder wheels since the softer they are the more gripper they're ofc. In my opinion otangs are one of the best wheels for longboarding around. I'd advise you to get 86 A wheels, those are the harder available in otang variety stimulus are made for free ride and sliding. You can always look for slide guides at youtube. If you need to know about anything else send me a pm . Peace
@robotrock909 No I'm pretty sure they wouldn't do that. My guess is the first bit and the bit where the car bumps up would be him talking properly and the rest recorded after and edited in.
@Houdini116 definitely not. it is a louis prototype but it uses the super shaka mold. Louis helped create the super shaka and just created this from it basically that's all i know and everything you know is wrong.
@cabeSR1234 i get like sideways curves but then i just keep going right (im goofy btw) its like i carve hard and its like a hard turn i cant get the full 180 im at a 90 degree turn right now... also should i get different wheels because right now i have 70mm 75a Nineball Wheels.. im pretty new to this whole thing i got my first and only board on christmas.. its 42 inches but its a surfboard shape idk if that matters with sliding but i was wondering if i should get a 9 star type of construction
I'm pretty sure he's riding the daisy. Even though it doesn't have the daisy's graphic it has the tail. Also this was the top video when i searched sector 9 daisy. I'm not 100% sure so don't get mad at me if i'm wrong haha.
My left ear enjoyed this.
this is one of the most helpfull videos on you tube we need more instructive videos thanx
Louis is such a kickass dude. All around down to earth guy, super awesome to skate with....and of course, he's damn good at skating. Sweet vid.
This is the best Longboarding movie i have seen this year. Digging the mic'd up riders, and the idea of following him in a car as he narrates is really smooth. This was perfect.
Such an awesome guy
Awesome video. Great shot at 1:07
ahahh rides like a beast and narrates the entire time! that takes skill!
videos like this get me stoked to skate
Louis is an amazing skater
This man clearly knows what it's all about. Amen to his sentiment at the end.
This is probably my favorite video ever
Yeah Louis! your 360s are so clean and smooth.
Hey Louie it's me Joey with Go Longboarding Day! This is sick. Thanks EG for linking me to this! This just changed my view on downhill bombing. Time to go practice!
I love his style its so relaxed. makes it look easy
louis is so bad ass no matter who he rides for he is just epic and so chill :)
This downhill has an upbeat infomercial vibe. You're like the Billy Mays of freeriding.
finally.... louie has come back on youtube *Thumbs up*
Oh my god, I want that board!!! DH with kicktails are where it's at!
more louis videos please!!!! we love seeing him skate!!! ill buy your boards!!!
@EinYeTi
They look like Sector9 Race Formulas. 70mm, 80a, with a sharp lip and is offset. Usually go for about $40 in most online longboard shops.
Man, this guy is crazy, but full of energy. I hope 1 day I'll be able to skate as good as him.
10 years later ... got that good? ;)
awesome riding man great run!!
@EinYeTi

this video is so sick. Louis Im glad to see your enjoying sector9, I still watch your videos from loaded. But good to see you still spread the stoke.
I'm pretty sure that board is the Arbor Hybrid Gt. The board Kody noble used in that San Francisco video.
he make it look so easy
'i dont know what i was gonna say.. i just love skating' haha. Love it!
That speed is crazy.
One of the best riders out there! sick vid!
"I just love skating, all kinds man, just get on your board, ride down a hill, grind a bank, snap an ollie... skateboard"
The best from Sector 9.
No, then it would be like any other video. He just also happens to say one of the most inspirational quotes in longboarding history and the end.
THANKS
Sick riding! Respect!
I actually met this guy!!
@powking86 no it doesnt look close at the end. its not a vugenhaussen nor is the tail bolted on. i have a chopped voodoo xl with a kicktail bolted onto it.
i think its a downhill division daisy... with a pre-production run or an alternate graphic.
@SnoMan1818 you should start by trying to make deeper and more charged carving. it also depends on how loose your trucks are + if your wheels have sharp edges ( not been broken in yet) it'll be more harder for you to slide. This video does not capture just how crazy steep and how f'ed the pavement is, Louie kills it!
@SummerConspiracy Yea I was thinking they look most like the 70mm or the 73mm but the 70's have a 50mm contact patch as opposed to the 73's with a 40mm so idk which would have been better for freeride as seen in the video. what do you mean by offset?
great stuff - even today
Sector 9 Racing Formula 70mm 80a, not sure about the 70mm but since its a top mount I assume they are.
I think Louis is riding a proto daisy from the new 2012 downhill division, correct me if im wrong.
man those switch stand up slides are crazy

"Be careful with that, alright?... Well let's bomb this! Come on, let's do this! Let's get this thing!!!"
@TheZC13 practice practice ;). No seriously, PRACTICE like crazy. Usually I push uphill or anywhere switch, just to get experience. @oscarman2 suction mount on the hood, and its the super shaka mold with his own cut i believe
WOOOW kwel, what wheels arre those??
Thats a beautiful hill :) I just love skating :)
That was awesome but I wonder just how long the run was in miles?
@BNomo1 I saw a longboard shaped like a sector 9 roxanne with the carbonite graphics on the bottom
"Get on your board, ride down a hill, grind a bank, snap an ollie. Skateboard." i Love that Quote
what is that deck? it looks so cool
SO ABSURDLY GOOD
Louis ftw. S9 represent! What deck is that? The graphic looks like the vugenhousin but the shape Is different. Looks dope as hell anyway
i suggest to get a baseplate at like 44 degrees and get some VENOM SHR bushings and do a board side 91 red and road side 88 sea foam. its a really good combo for fast downhill and good freeride. just adjust the tighnest and ur good.
What is this song playing in the background? By the way awesome video!
skate all day er' day for life! keep livin the dream louie!!! pce

ya but set-up does help a lot. been trying to slide for a year now, finding it really difficult.
needs more views tbh
my left ear loved this...
Is that the Sector9 Downhill Division "Daisy" board???
louie pilloni, i can't believe your a pro
James kelly's arbor signature model, vagun hausen.
What trucks and bushing set-up does louie ride?
Dude you jumped my car! hahahha
Maybe 1/5 roads can even possibly be skated down here, but there are hills literally everywhere, so
Went to college with him at Gonzaga we use longboard together
This dude is awesome!
loved that video
What amazes me is the wheels on the board don't get flat spots in them.
@robotrock909 No I'm pretty sure they wouldn't do that. My guess is the first bit and the bit where the car bumps up would be him talking properly and the rest recorded after and edited in.
What board is he riding? Freakin awesome vid btw.
@powking86 thats not a vugenhaussen but i wish i knew what it was. new sector 9 or arbor?
Sector 9 DH Daisy (Carbonite graphic)... caliber trucks and 72os raceforms?
did they shorten the kicktail on the released daisy? it looks smaller than in this
@Dom3y does that apply to more than just longboarding? .... intense
is that the daisy just without the same graphic
@InDaClub717 alright thats pretty dope ill try it once i get my board!!
"DUDE thats my car dont do that!!" immediately does it again.. haha!
@ChCreation i feel like this would be the tutorial for a video game, like how to skate paths
so how did they do the narration without getting wind noise? did they voice over and match his lip movements?
"And into the might Cliff Coleman!"
He then proceeds to do a Bert slide.
how was the camera mounted to get such a good shot? oh and what board
Search "With a side of Victor" It's 20 minutes but it's so good! This hill is in that Vid
what wheels is he using? They look mad!
man that guys great man. 2:07
awesome! with what camera is this shot?
Longboard-Tribute to Bob Ross, loving it!
Daisy s9 arrow?
@sector9media dude what wheels are those looks like your sliding on air.
yeah ive had some ppl tell me that im gonna get bored of it or tired of it. theres always new things to try theres no was im gonna get bored of it!
@Hoiz28 abec 11 72 A wheels.. the thing is that if he doesnt have understood how slide works it'll be harder to get the idea of how to slide.
@Houdini116 definitely not. it is a louis prototype but it uses the super shaka mold. Louis helped create the super shaka and just created this from it basically that's all i know and everything you know is wrong.
hell yeah louis! killin it
teach me how to longboard Louis
@cabeSR1234 i get like sideways curves but then i just keep going right (im goofy btw) its like i carve hard and its like a hard turn i cant get the full 180 im at a 90 degree turn right now... also should i get different wheels because right now i have 70mm 75a Nineball Wheels.. im pretty new to this whole thing i got my first and only board on christmas.. its 42 inches but its a surfboard shape idk if that matters with sliding but i was wondering if i should get a 9 star type of construction
what longboard is that does anyone know, it looks cool
Does anyone remember seeing this but with the view from the follow car the whole time? Is that a different vid?
I'm pretty sure he's riding the daisy. Even though it doesn't have the daisy's graphic it has the tail. Also this was the top video when i searched sector 9 daisy. I'm not 100% sure so don't get mad at me if i'm wrong haha.
