Thank you!!! I hate when people call Marines soldiers. Some people think that a soldier is anyone who is in the military and that is not true. FOR ALL OF YOU: Army - Soldier Marines - Marine Navy - Sailor Airforce - Airman (no, not a pilot)
I hope so man, I won't settle for less than rifleman, anyother job in the ifantry will just make me frustrated w/ life in the marines I just know it. Also, what was the hardest part of boot for you? For me, I imagine it will be running.

You earn the rights to wear the EGA. You bought the EGA for about 6$ to give to the Drill Instructor to be handed back to you on ceremonial day. It can be bought on Ebay. It can be lent.
@DevilDog4life55 , how about this, you do a literal comparison of what it physically takes in either spec. ops service. And there really are seals that fail ranger school, asa matter of fact, many of them get sent there as punishment for things like dui. And thats a broad statement you making about kickin my ass, im taller than you and ive been workin out for years. Thats cool ur 0311, im a poolee, and i chose 03, question tho, do they guarantee ur job as rifleman?
This 'keep-the-hands-behind-the-back posture reminded me when I was a schoolboy in my elementary first and secondary year, in a school which had a particularly traditional and strict schoolmaster. (And that was well over 40 years ago.)
Not if it was in self-defense, which it would be if you tried to punch a drill instructor. For the others getting theirs in, for them it would be coming to the assistance of a comrade under attack. On top of that, they would be using force to combat insubordination, so I see nothing wrong with that.
How is it possible for me to view Marines (outdoors) w/o covers on their heads?!.....much less Drill Instructors....of ALL People?! When I went thru MCRD in '68, we paid SEVERELY if we were found outside & coverless!!!
hmmmmm. how much you have to learn, young devil dog. or is it old devildog? idk of any other marine thats 58 and been through the crucible. either way, you got a lot to learn.
They look semi-squared away, they must have just started third phase. I dont recognize the place, I graduated from Parris Island. Aug. 18, 2006. Pfc Jones, R. 3d Bn Mco.
Ive always been told don't call an enlisted military sir or ma'am because they will just reply, "I am not an officer, I work for a living, do not call me sir or ma'am"
I'm a Poolee and know better than to start shit about boot. None of it matters, because at the end of the day, both places suck hard, and they produce the same end result. Lean Green, Fighting Machines.
Some of those damn recruits didnt even know what was going on, Didnt snap to attention, Didnt respond to the Di. WTF is going on at MCRD Sandiego? Now Parris Island, Thats where its at. THE CRADDLE OF THE CORPS! OOH-RAH!
I'm just replying to what appears in my inbox, and no, i'm not getting worked up. Even if my statements might indicate that, there is no possible way for you to contrive that i'm upset, or even emotional at all. I'm not, and overall my attitude is very casual about this, and furthermore I was correct in my original post. Ranger school is more physically demanding than BUDS is, and I believe they are a more tactically sound, and combat feasible fighting force. PM me next time, im tired of posts.
highest casualty rate? cut the TV on and listen to the news and count how many times you hear about a soldier being killed versus hearing about a Marine getting killed. and last time i checked, we all get payed off the same payscale, so...
@SpiritofVersaille actualy they do..if its in BLACK IN WHITE ON PAPER... ITS GUARANTEED... ITS UR RESPOSIBILTY TO MAKE SURE ITS IN BLACK IN WHITE AND ON PAPER.. SHOWS HOW MUCH U REALLY WANT IT... OOH-RAH
I LOVE MY MARINES BECAUSE MY COUSIN JOSHUA DENNIS NELSON IS IN THE MARINE CORP AND HE SAID HE LOVES IT BUT RIGHT NOW MY COUSIN JOSHUA DENNIS NELSON IS IN IRAQ UNTIL NEXT SATURDAY JUNE 26 AND THEN HE COMES HOME AND LEAVES AGAIN FOR AFGAINSTAN AND WILL BE IN AFGAINSTAN UNTIL SATURDAY JULY 3 WELL I LOVE U MY MARINES FROM UR BEST FRIEND SHELBY LYNN DIIRO IN FERGUS FALLS ,MN
I have to concur. We grew up in the 80's with the fear of the Russians. I joined the Army National Guard in 87 as a cav scout. I was into all the Rambo BS. I then went active air force for seven years and served in Desert Storm. Im not ignorant to the fact that we did not care for Kuwait but for the oil of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia provide us. I can atleast except the truth of this and understand why we would protect them but to invade a country for this is f...up.
Ha, yeah. Marines, Navy, Air Force and the Army can poke fun and mess with each other, but let someone else come in and mess with one of them, there will be blood. Hell, we have to put up with each other at a lot of the MOS schools anyway.
If you all don't like it why instead of bitch about it on dag gone you tube why not try to change it get into congress so that you can try to make a change and if you didn't you can at least have had made an effort. Have some respect. people get stoned in other countries for even implying the stuff you are flat out saying. You have the right to speak openly and freely which you exercise by bad mouth the country that gives you that very right and the men and women who protect this land
he will defend himself and the other drill instructors (and some recruits too) will help beat the shit out of the sorry recruit who did it, and then the MP's take him away, (the MP's will probably get a few baton swings in too) =)
An ifintry marine and infintry amry ARE the same. the differnce between army And USMC is that all marines MOS are combat oreninted, onlike Army who have alot desk jobs. However army has more (alot more) special arfare units. I.E. Green Berets, rangers (like myself), delta force, ext. force recon is not special forces. You are the few and the pround only because you dont have any "Poogs" to do shit work. the navy does it for you.
I don't believe they're "suckers". But may God damn ANY politician who doesn't count every one of their lives as precious and sends them into harm's way without good cause.
im not in this arguement but ill tell you, i can probably beat the shit out of most marines, army, or whatever. Its cuz im 6'3 and 200lbs. The military deserves respect, but mostly its just a bunch of young guys who want action. thats it. Theyre still people and i know dozens of marines who aren't in that great of shape physically. People join the marine corp oftne because they marines make you feel special. They promise everyones a badass, its just not true. but military service is noble.
im sorry. I just couldnt join the branch of the military that highest casualty rate, AND the lowest pay. We're not pussies, we're just smart. It's an Army thing. you would'nt know.
NO THEY CANNOT!!!! unless they (as a unit) are coming back from a deployment. However, wearing your camis in public is UNAUTHORIZED Sgt of Marines, '03-'07
Nah, man HOOAHH is what the Army says. I think its the biggest bunch of bull ever. But Its HOORAH for Navy and Marine Corp. But when you sound off theres a tendency to say OOORAAAAHHH instead thats all. Its just a mispronunciation. I would know only because I'm my NJROTC unit's commander, and I will be enlisting when I graduate.
Ron Paul is a republican, I know that. His personality shows different than republican however, that is why they did not support him during the 2008 election.
you sure have only "heard" a lot of stuff to to say you have experienced recruit training and it was a waste of your time. i'm starting to think you have no idea what you are talking about.
Now that I think of it, it was a waste of 3 months of my life. The only useful thing taught to me, was field week which consists of learning about your m16, swim week, and crucible, the simulation of war. Everything else was pure waste of just learning how to walk, talk, and move. Only masochists would love this crap.
Some of these people in this video are close to retirement now.
Thank you!!! I hate when people call Marines soldiers. Some people think that a soldier is anyone who is in the military and that is not true. FOR ALL OF YOU:
Army - Soldier

Night Fire at Edson range was the awesome
Remember yelling in the tunnels?
MCRD San Diego did not look like this in 1960. Quonset Huts and Ice plants everywhere. Guess those days were part of the "Old Corps".
yep
@Xaforn Except when you are a recruit. Then every Marine you encounter is Sir/Ma'am
yea..ive seen a couple who ve just come home from iraq in there desert camis
I remember that day,I was 1st phase in golf company, and my Platoon had just took 1st place on initial drill earlier that morning
But... The moment after initial drill marks the end of Phase 1 and the start of Phase 2 lol.

This 'keep-the-hands-behind-the-back posture reminded me when I was a schoolboy in my elementary first and secondary year, in a school which had a particularly traditional and strict schoolmaster. (And that was well over 40 years ago.)
Why is Stevie Nicks singing in the backround?
Not if it was in self-defense, which it would be if you tried to punch a drill instructor. For the others getting theirs in, for them it would be coming to the assistance of a comrade under attack. How is it possible for me to view Marines (outdoors) w/o covers on their heads?!.....much less Drill Instructors....of ALL People?! When I went thru MCRD in '68, we paid SEVERELY if we were found outside & coverless!!!
Where's the Fleetwood Mac music coming from?
Well, as a former British and later an Australian soldier, it all looks very Germanic (WW2).
@eminemdabest02 Such a trivial thing to argue about...

u were probably the one that got out of boot camp cause u couldnt hack it
its because the army is a lot bigger than the marines...the army slogan should be "So easy a caveman could do it"

From what I hear there was no crucible back then, I also hear they get fucked up big time for screwing up on drills. Thank god for modern era.
There Drill Instructors, and its Assaulting a higher ranked officer or something like that, still though big no no.
which is exactly why they say we will "earn the title" they dont hand out free titles like the Army :P
he will defend himself and the other drill instructors (and some recruits too) will help beat the shit out of the sorry recruit who did it, and then the MP's take him away, (the MP's will probably get a few baton swings in too) =)
