By this point of having already removed the steering wheel and whatever else was in the way, it was only a few fasteners to remove the switch and the most difficult part was feeding the wire through the steering column. I could tell the job had been done before because the wiring of the one being replaced looked newer than some of the other factory wiring. I used a new old stock AC Delco switch to replace this faulty one, and so far so good.
Nope, all fixed. But previous owner told me he had to replace this once too so might be a good idea to keep a second one on hand. This isn't my first Regal of this era and never experienced it before though.
