      Cheers! I have like four more videos where I go "I think I'm close but based on when I record this I might be 3k" so bear with me on those haha.

    I remember when I learned that I could use DoTs to kill the Tangled on the next turn instead of the current turn to delay the spawn of the mushroom. It isn't very important now that mushrooms stick around for two turns, but when it was only one it was hugely important for surviving the damage output of Cynder plus his Cynderpox on the 3rd phase when he doesn't spawn minions anymore.

    I hold a very low opinion on smites. Early they're nice, vs Bats and stuff, but imo they have absolutely no business in the late game. I once had like 8 smite per turn with okay ability power, didn't even kill mobs against the endboss (in one turn, that is). They're just not a winning strategy.
    Whistle, on the other hand, is still absurd, stronger than most legendaries imho. Literally every second move can be your most influential one. Compare how little Clapsydranium does in comparison, and even that is a great hit.

      Yeah, Harmonious Whistle is nuts for sure; I'm surprised that it doesn't have a per-turn limit (ie. max twice per turn). The smites weren't incredible, but the Blooming Uhn at least adds 2 AP on top of it to feel worthwhile. I've never had a run really pop off with them, but I've always appreciated free damage.

    great run! splice was a solid pickup to kill the tree mobs and cure cynderpox consistently

    Fun run, I've been playing a while and coasted to platinum while avoiding cinder and weaver/clairvoyant because I had a run each where I just didnt do enough damage to clear Cynderpox and slowly died

  • @dennistu
    @dennistu ปีที่แล้ว +4

    TIL the green puddles doesn't do damage, it only inflicts cynderpox :D

      I gave it an extra day because I didn't cross-post the video correctly on the day I posted it, but you won the giveaway! If you could reply in a comment with your Discord handle (so I can be sure to get the right person on Discord), I will send the code to you!

    he doesn't dislike weaver anymore! whooo!!! (your first experience with him seemed bad). Health is more of a useable resource in this game than monster train I think.

    • @RisingDusk
      @RisingDusk  ปีที่แล้ว

      Weaver has actually always been my favorite class, but I do think a recent run was pretty tough haha.

    mosscloak has some good common upgrades u dont wanna miss. actually i find the common/rare etc thing for binding upgrades weird as they all have the same rarity - once u progress you can no longer get ones of the previous rarity

    • @RisingDusk
      @RisingDusk  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A lot of commons are pretty bad, but some are quite good. I like the dash range one on Mosscloak.

    • @NoSpoonsLeftOnlyKnives
      @NoSpoonsLeftOnlyKnives ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RisingDusk I try to always get dash range, and prefer to also get flurry range. I will sometimes skip the other greys just to leave slots open for a more powerful late game build.

    good run, i can do well with weaver, but this just shows more can be learnt, didn't think i could move to the edge to group mobs better. a lot of the time the race against cynder and cynderpox in the final phase is where i wall over with this boss.

  • @NoSpoonsLeftOnlyKnives
    @NoSpoonsLeftOnlyKnives ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I am not certain I have ever had the green pool Cynderpox interaction either and I'm inkbound. I always assumed it did damage and poxed you and stayed away from it.

  • @Zackapo

    Turns were painful at first, once you got some damage it was a completely different run holy crap

  • @matthewshaylor4215

    I've never noticed cynderpox causing me too many problems in all honesty. Maybe on higher difficulties it's an issue?

  • @sholiss3228
    @sholiss3228 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Mosscloak's point is to prioritize and kill shit fast. You kill what you can't avoid.

  • @96pgm
    @96pgm ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What I like to do for the bird boss is to leave a mushroom for the first turn of third phase so I can still clear Cynderpox one last time if I need to

  • @DarkCrusader100
    @DarkCrusader100 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Weaver handles the pools really well, i find on magma miner that the cynder pox can be more of an issue

  • @xyceres
    @xyceres ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I always seem to have more cynderpox then I was expecting. Not sure what it is that causes it thou.

  • @Lootaful
    @Lootaful ปีที่แล้ว +1

    At first Cynderpox totally confused me, didn't understand where it was coming from. Now he's not a boss I fear too much, unless you are really reliant on shielding.

  • @jollyvoqar195
    @jollyvoqar195 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Weaver is a lot of fun - some builds get to be obscene - but, I've failed final boss with Weaver even with otherwise ridiculous builds where I've never failed a run with the other 2 starter classes.

    • @RisingDusk
      @RisingDusk  ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of its scaling comes from number of threads, which can be denied in a 1-on-1 boss fight configuration. It can be weird to plan and think around, agreed!

    that double Critical Stitch feels so *dirty* xD

    • @RisingDusk
      @RisingDusk  ปีที่แล้ว

      It was a really important pickup so the run could get there on damage haha.

  • @Daedrich
    @Daedrich ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Huh, knowing that the green pools only gives cynderpox instead of doing damages changes that fight quite a bit for me.

  • @SPITZtheGOD
    @SPITZtheGOD ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I dont see how weaver could be the strongest as is one of the only characters that attacks are both physical and magic so you need both. I think the most op is either star captain or the mosscloak. Mosscloak dmg numbers are on a whole other level than the rest

    • @RisingDusk
      @RisingDusk  ปีที่แล้ว

      Mosscloak has no baked-in defense which is spicy, but also I think Weaver has gotten much weaker in some recent patches. Weird balance shifts all around!

  • @Lootaful

    I didn't know you could eat fish not in combat and it counts, also at Inkbound rank.

    • @RisingDusk
      @RisingDusk  ปีที่แล้ว

      Fish are an exception to the consumable rules, and can be eaten in or out of combat!

    Cynderpox is basically the worst. Get a few stacks and have low damage? Good luck with phase 3... 😭
