I don't think St. Thomas is a forgotten parish because all the aggregate that build Jamaica hwy, homes, hotels came from St Thomas. One of Jamaica brightest son came from St Thomas Robert Lightbourne he's the one that got Goodyear to open a tyre manufacturing plant in St Thomas, Cable and Wireless earth station. All of Cable and Wireless submarines cable run from St Thomas to all over the world etc. Before Cable and Wireless bought Flow, Flow submarines cables run from St Thomas to Florida. What about the oil find in Morant basin.

Also they will be the sol harbour towers in ocho rios .
St. Thomas In Jamaica looks lovely. Our St. Thomas here in Barbados is in the centre of the island with no sea. Does Jamaica have any landlocked parishes
Negative Saint Andrew is not landlocked it has almost ten miles of ocean front from *Harbour View* to Eleven miles *Bull Bay* before the *Saint Thomas* border...🤔
So sad how slow Jamaicans are if they paided America to do there highway they would look much more stronger the paint would look brighter and better and it would be done within a year 🇺🇸China doing this to ja on purpose see how fast they get there roads done
People get with development so jamaica can become better country to live in when we finish we can host the world cup.2040 its about time we enter the world stage.
Hello Michael Brown, I like you're a visionary, world cup 2040 I'm in agreement with your thought it's really about time. I just never see such level of developments talking place in jamaica as what I'm seeing now. I saw this level in Houston and Atlanta. So Michael I will join you to talk about it more, more conversations and proposals to various entities and stakeholders.
It is not about size and population. When Finland host the Olympic their population was little over 3 millions. 2012 Olympic in London they have about 180,000 people attended. Just before the pandemic on and off jamaica had about 4 millions visitors, so it can happen if we think big and have a vision. A OLYMPIC WI SEH .
@@errolpaisley9489 you talking about England..who have like 60 million people..huge country..Finland hosted it years ago..in the 50s..we are too small a country to host so many people at one time
To say Jamaica has not received investment in the past ten years is false, JPS new power plants, harbor drenched, highway consideration, bauxite, tourism, stock market fund raising. What's missing are the linkages.
I'm wondering how Nepa allowed JPS to build a gas turbine power station in Old Harbour bay ? Do NEPA knows what's the operating temperature for a gas turbine power station? I believed is 3 gas turbine JPS has. * The operating temperature for one gas turbine unit is over 1000°F and a gas turbine power station is not efficient it's a waste. Electricity is very high in Jamaica already. The type of power station that's good for Jamaica is steam turbine, because the power station could sell the steam to manufacturing companies. I'm hearing that JPS want to install a gas turbine power station beside Petro Jam 🤔😡😡
@@waynemcfarlane1233 LNG is cheap and reliable at the moment, electricity is expensive because traditionally we use liquid petroleum gas LPG, the sites they choose are traditional sites. As for steam that's probably more expensive to set up and supply fuel to to give the required power as opposed to steam.
NWC should take this opportune moment to DAM the river to PROVIDE water to supply the need of present and future..even creating turbine/hydro ELECTRICTY...was done in Nevada u.s.a. Hoover dam
You think cutting through solid rock is cheap.? Its good to have corners makes u a better driver straight roads all di time winmrk u drop a sleep. Lol.
I don't like the bridges that was constructed, and those that are currently under construction now! I'm not a structural Engineer however, I know that steel beam are stronger and lighter than reinforced concrete beams. I have notice that the bridges at three miles, and those under construction now, are the same type of building technique. My problem with reinforced concrete beam and road, is that it is much heavier than steel beam and corrugated metal platform for the roads. The other negative with reinforced concrete, is that, it's not flexible. Jamaica is a country prone to Earthquake! So a lighter, more flexible structure would cope with an Earthquake better. I believe a steel structure would need less maintenance also, because a steel beam can be treated with protective coating which would protect it from the weather, so it won't rust. On the other hand reinforced concrete, which have rebar(Steel Rods)to give it strength, it cannot be treated with protective coating; because the rebar have to stick to the concrete, so they act as one unit of strength. The moment moisture, water or salt, get to the steel, it will rust and expand outward and crack the concrete(spalling)the structure become weaker, well, we all see what happen with the apartment block in Miami Beach...I don't trust these bridges...
Stop using the word mega. Look up the word and see that you are using it too loosely to describe the project. The superlative mega can be changed to big development
