Personally I’m surprised they aren’t going to do the coaster in 2026 for their 50th. But maybe that’s to avoid what’s going on at Great Adventure. If it fails to open then well they got their 50th anniversary coaster.
@ninjagirl226 They’re probably going to do the 50th in 2025 since the park celebrates “seasons” not anniversaries. Look at the 40TH anniversary, it was in 2015. The 25th? 2000.

@@H3lue Exactly, they just keep getting bad investments. Let’s look at the past 15 years. 2010 they get Skyrocket, decent ride but it’s had serious issues with day to day reliability and was SBNO for 2 seasons. 2012 they get Black Widow which goes down for maintenance constantly because Zamperla can’t design a good ride system. And it’s also had extended downtime, I think 3 full seasons. 2015 they get the 4D theater which closed during Covid, never reopened, and is now used as an employee locker room and storage for cleaning supplies. 2017 they get Thomas Town which is mostly alright except for the epic Zamperla train which derailed 3 times in its opening year. 2019 they get Steel Curtain, don’t even get me started. Low capacity because of the horrible ride system, multiple full seasons of downtime due to structural issues, highly prone to faults, and it opened with a rattle which is reportedly destroying the track. In 2023 they got Spinvasion, which has the occasional fault but is a pretty decent ride. And during this time they removed a bunch of fan favorite rides like The Turnpike, Pitt Fall, Paratrooper, Bayern Curve, and The Log Jammer.
Honestly both of these seemed like a pipe dream a few years ago, and while Quantam Accelerator wasn’t on my bingo card, it’s nice that Goliath’s plot isn’t going to be empty anymore. Supposedly Crackle Axle Canyon at SFNE is gonna be demolished in the somewhat near future and here's hoping another coaster goes there. As silly as it sounds, I wish SFNE still had a flume-type ride.
Dr. Diabolical was really rough when I rode it in July, which greatly surprised me given it is just 2 years old. My experience was similar to your rough rides on the brand new this year iron menace.
I am so happy that Great America is getting what is probably the single largest Six Flags investment since El Toro in 2006. This was my home park until I moved to Ohio a few years ago, and even though I have two great parks within my reach, my heart is still at Great America. I am still desperately hoping we get that giga someday (and now that Six Flags is probably a lot most likely to start dropping Cedar Fair-sized investment, this is looking more feasible than it ever has before), but for now, we’re still getting something pretty cool, and I’m fine with that. Also, I absolutely love that you’ll be able to walk all the way around Quantum Accelerator and look at it from every angle. It’s absolutely going to sell that ride to everyone who walks down that midway. That was a fantastic choice for the park. Also, Intamin is back on the menu! This really is a different chapter for Six Flags now.
The thing is with B&M, all their newer coasters have a so called ‘B&M bounce’, Mandrill Mayhem, Iron Menace, Penguin Trek, Phoenix Rising etc. so hopefully Rapterra and Wrath of Rakshasa won’t have it for the sake of B&M as a company…
With how busy pandemonium gets at sfne I think this is a great edition. Something big would be awesome but a good capacity launch coaster right in this area is great.
I was at SFGA friday and they started construction for WOR..they did the demo and cleared most of the plot of land..hopefully it'll be ready by April 2025
Six Flags La Ronde turns 60 years old in 3 years. There hasn't been a new coaster for almost 15 years and they've pretty much demolished half the park due to rides becoming too old. Just wanted to let everyone know. Please pour one out for my home park.
both of these are so good for their parks now also i please hope that gadvs next coaster is a wing and also lets hope magic mountain gets a new coaster this year
I’m so excited!!! Great America was my home park for a long time and I still visit at least once a year. This new addition is going to be great for them!!
Here are my opinions: The Dive seems like it would be a good fit but I think it's to simular yo X Flight and Batman even if it's a completely different type of ride because it's the parks 3rd feet dangling B&M with 5 inversions. The family launch is honestly a fantastic fit. A launch coaster is what SFNE needed badly and also they didn't have a good family coaster and this fits both those categories. I know some were probably expecting or wanting a thrill launch coaster but the motorbike coasters are some of the most fun out there.
@AirtimeThrills I know and it may not be that big of a deal. But if you think about just Batman and X Flight alone, they are both B&Ms that have around the same height, same length, same speed, same number of inversions, and sane feet dangling experience so it almost seemed to simular, then they are getting this Dive.
i get what you’re saying with there being some wing seating on a dive and it also being floorless but i feel like the pacing on each is so different from one another that they are 3 distinct ride experiences. if it were an 8 across or 10 across i could definitely see it riding similar to x flight. it’s a 7 across though so the inversions are gonna ride completely different
@howenator I hope so. Even if they ride the same, it's still just the fact it's so similar in those ways and that they look quite similar because of that.
I think Wrath of Rakshasa looks like a great ride and it’s awesome that we don’t lose any coasters to get it. However, I think the park’s lineup of great but not elite coasters is already so excellent that I think an elite ride would make the layout more complete. That said, it will be a great ride and it certainly won’t hurt. It should be a big success even with the weird name.
SFNE is my home park. Torn on this coaster that plot sat empty for so long and Goliath sbno for a couple years before being removed as well. We thought we were getting something massive up until about a month ago. Happy to get a coaster for sure just was expecting something else
Cedar Fair most likely wouldn’t have been involved in SFNE’s choice of Quantum Accelerator tho, right? This is too soon after the merger was announced.
Its funny that you say that this is a capacity win for the park compared to the Canada's Wonderland's new coaster. I mean its 21 seats vs. 18. And the extra wide rows lead to dispatching issues too. You're not going to get great capacity on a dive unless you have tandem loading. And unfortunately parks seem to have stopped adding this -- despite how much it helps capacity.
Considering that both DarKoaster and Arctic Rescue are very enjoyable Intamin straddle coasters, I have confidence that Quantum Accelerator will be a hit. I was very surprised by both of those coasters, enjoyed them much more than I thought I would.
SFGam def needed a new people eater with Goliath having capacity troubles too. Only using that small Bucc Battle plot leaves some other plots open for potential future additions too
I like the Dive coaster addition for Six Flags Great America but I don’t know what to think of Six Flags New England’s addition except that I think they could have done better great video once again!!!
for SFNE, this is a total win. Yes, some will want more power in the launch, but this fills a gap in the park lineup and the goliath piece of land. It was always a long shot to expect a huge launch and removing flashback at the same time. Maybe flashback will get a new paint color and new trains since its staying. With some changes, it could be saved. Chris for #buyorsell, RMC is no longer a top flight ride manufacturer? #buyorsell, none of the legacy six flags rides announced for 2025 will actually open, and will be delayed until 2026. Lately, its been pretty quiet for RMC.
rakshasa looks like a large dive coaster, its so close and the layout looks like the best dive layout. I think great america is a prime pick for a giga if they can make it work in eagle's plot or smth, it would be the perfect standout cause i dont think any other ride other than a trex would work as a standout since a hyper is already there.
SFGAm is my home park. I've never ridden a dive coaster, but we already have X-Flight with basically 3 of the same elements. I'm worried that Wrath is basically going to be the same experience, especially on the outer seats. Are dives really that different?
I really hope sfgam can get their flagship A+ coaster soon as I believe we were in line to receive this dive 2 years ago as the president of the park mentioned Dr. Diabolicals layout was designed to fit in sfgam’s plot of land.
So, will there be two or three years of Six Flags and Cedar Fair new coaster announcements before it’s one company? Any idea how many years the company starts planning to construction of a new coaster?
Coaster additions start their talks about 2-3 years before they open (or 1-2 years before they are announced) depending on the size of the project. The merger-affected additions won’t start getting announced until 2025 or 2026 at the absolute earliest. It talks a long time to go through the bidding, planning, financing, and approval phases before a even single track piece is even fabricated.
I don't get the beyond vertical hype, it just means you accelerate at a slower rate, the fastest most forceful drop is always going to be 90°. You get more negative G across the crest but a dive coaster forgoes that by stopping you at the top anyway, the whole point is meant to be free-falling down
But get rid of those vest restraints and those 90° drops are just as fun suddenly (imo more thrilling).. the vest restraints and tighter restraints on coasters as a whole has required rides to have more aggressive airtime
could this mean possibly new intamins at cedar fair parks? Glad to see more intamins being built in the US. Both these coasters aren't what I personally wanted, but they do help round out their lineups.
@@michaelkucharski4251 with the merger, Intamin will either be welcomed in or completely boxed out. Since CF seems to be taking the reins, i wouldnt be optimistic
After the Jokers/Batman, has Six Flags really done a bunch of cloned coasters? I can't really think of one since then, assuming something like Maxx Force or Dr Diabolical don't get cloned.
Not super excited about the SFNE coaster but it was very much needed. I go with children sometimes and all they want to do is ride Pandemonium. Finally another great option!
I’m just happy SFGA’s getting a new B&M. X-Flight is a casual wing coaster, and Superman is a clone, so Raging Bull is holding it’s own. Plus, I love dive coasters.
The Dive Coaster at Great America is not what I wanted. But it is definitely a GP pleaser. I'm not a fan. Once you've ridden one, you've pretty much ridden them all. But it is a good addition. I'm just not going to make me rush to the park

Oh well, but my Vekoma launch pipe dream isn’t dead yet, we could put one in where Whistlestop park was.
That spot will eventually become Hurricane Harbor’s Paid separate entrance.
So wait SFNE is going to separate Hurricane harbor from the main park?
@@RascalTrainz not yet, but it makes the most sense for them to do that
Love your new mic dude it sounds great
Same old mic but playing with the audio levels lately
With how busy pandemonium gets at sfne I think this is a great edition. Something big would be awesome but a good capacity launch coaster right in this area is great.
I was at SFGA friday and they started construction for WOR..they did the demo and cleared most of the plot of land..hopefully it'll be ready by April 2025
Six Flags La Ronde turns 60 years old in 3 years. There hasn't been a new coaster for almost 15 years and they've pretty much demolished half the park due to rides becoming too old.
Just wanted to let everyone know. Please pour one out for my home park.
Keep in mind that SFOG also turns 60 in 3 years
@@edt-ze3ke Sounds like there’s two good candidates for new coasters.
@@taal223 True, but OG has a higher chance of receiving a new coaster than LaRonde tbh.
@@edt-ze3ke I know, but a man can dream.
I still have no idea how they managed to avoid taking out Demon for this, but I’m all for it.
Six flags ain’t playing any games with these announcements, though knowing them, these coasters are most likely going to be delayed!
You know they won’t start on them till the winter weather is gone haha
@@Brandon-qd2lb Great America tore down Buccaneer Battle last week & they are preparing the ground right now, working around the clock.
Better that they take their time and make sure the ride is right and avoid another fiasco like the Top Thrill 2 relaunch.
@TylerPCoyne Nah, CF knows that they’re doing. Selina may have chosen the coasters, but Zimmerman will take charge and make sure they’re open in time.
Wrath of Rakshasa is gonna be super photogenic too going over the footpaths multiple times
One thing Great America could use is another family coaster. Something that is a step between Whizzer and Demon.
And a refresh of the kids areas, they are starting to look pretty bad.
both of these are so good for their parks now also i please hope that gadvs next coaster is a wing and also lets hope magic mountain gets a new coaster this year
You forgot to mention that Frontier City is getting a renovated refreshment stand
@@DonkeyPopsicle if only
I’m so excited!!! Great America was my home park for a long time and I still visit at least once a year. This new addition is going to be great for them!!
RIP Dudes phone @2:11
that would also be amazing if six flags america got anything ever
Also, Great America really needs a Sky Screamer.
SFGAm being my home park, I agree!
Imagine showing a 9 seat car while describing a 7 seat car lmfaoo
Here are my opinions:
The Dive seems like it would be a good fit but I think it's to simular yo X Flight and Batman even if it's a completely different type of ride because it's the parks 3rd feet dangling B&M with 5 inversions.
The family launch is honestly a fantastic fit. A launch coaster is what SFNE needed badly and also they didn't have a good family coaster and this fits both those categories. I know some were probably expecting or wanting a thrill launch coaster but the motorbike coasters are some of the most fun out there.
@@maxhagenauer24 i get the 5 inversion b&m with your feet dangling but i dont see the experiences being that similar
Cedar point has all the same rides plus a floorless
Could added sand and weight be a factor into the B&M shaking? Idek I didn't go to school, someone ELi5
Cedar Fair most likely wouldn’t have been involved in SFNE’s choice of Quantum Accelerator tho, right? This is too soon after the merger was announced.
Absolutely not. I would guess planning started over a year ago.
@@notdoctorq Exactly.
Great America needs a giga so bad. I hate to say it cause I love the ride but American eagle can go. We need that giga!
It did say quantum accelerator has 11 airtime moments at least, and that drop probably gives some good ejector in the back.
@@thedashcamkid6175 id be stunned if you felt any of those airtime moments
I’m surprised that Intamin is involved, considering that Six Flags and Cedar Fair have merged, and Cedar Fair had bad luck with Intamin.
I wouldn’t mind having a dive coaster at SFOG placed in their Go Kart area as they could really a new high capacity machine in their lineup
2025 is going to be a really good year for new rides, theres so many!
2025 has to be one of the most exciting years for the roller coaster industry
@@edt-ze3ke yeah its going to be insane

Put the top 15 1-2 punches in a tier list
I’m over here proud of Great America like it’s my child
Good move for SF Mexico getting that Tilt Coaster, since Beto Carrero surpassed them in attendance numbers (and being an overall better theme park)
We'll have to find out if it's indeed a tilt coaster or not when it gets announced
@@edt-ze3ke indeed... the pics only confirm Vekoma, but I hope it's a Tilt
I like seeing B&M get more innovative with every dive coaster
My home park finally is getting something new after 5 years
Buy or Sell: we will start to see more steampunk themed additions across the six flags/cedar fair parks
I’m calling it Wrath of Chaka Khan or Chaka for short lol
After the Jokers/Batman, has Six Flags really done a bunch of cloned coasters? I can't really think of one since then, assuming something like Maxx Force or Dr Diabolical don't get cloned.
Not super excited about the SFNE coaster but it was very much needed. I go with children sometimes and all they want to do is ride Pandemonium. Finally another great option!
You say 7 across but I see 8 in the animation? 🤔
@@hundoe100 yeah the animation does show 8 but RCDB shows 7. Either way the capacity is good and that was my point
When you say that the ride has 7 across seating right over a picture showing 8 across seating....
I’m excited for next year, just hoping they will actually open
Are they gonna open in time
I’m just happy SFGA’s getting a new B&M. X-Flight is a casual wing coaster, and Superman is a clone, so Raging Bull is holding it’s own. Plus, I love dive coasters.
When do you think Six Flags will announce the other rides for this year?
Aug 22
The Dive Coaster at Great America is not what I wanted. But it is definitely a GP pleaser. I'm not a fan. Once you've ridden one, you've pretty much ridden them all. But it is a good addition. I'm just not going to make me rush to the park
Did you want it to look like Dr. D at Fiesta
Love this video.
i want a giga dive coaster after that questionnaire circulated
I’m genuinely excited for these.
