I pray the Sisters restore the Traditional Liturgy and fullness of the Religious Life as St Madeleine knew it. And I think they will. They say they want to be faithful to the original charism of their order but they’re not there yet. I’ll pray for them 🙏

Most religious orders reserve the title "Mother" for those who are in leadership roles, such as the mother superior of a convent, while the remaining members are called "Sister." But there are some exceptions. When Mother Cabrini founded her order, the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart, the title "Mother" was given to each fully professed sister because the foundress wanted the Italian immigrants, especially the children, to think of the sisters as mothers to them. That was later changed as a result of Vatican ll which removed the title of Mother and allowed the sisters to change their names in religion to their birth names. So, Mother Laurentzina became Sister Diane and Mother Elvira became Sister Dorothy. Soon after the order introduced the modified habit.

However good and pious they are the charism of the Society resides in the congregation whose mother house is in Rome and their claim that St Madeleine Sophie Barat (they can't even pronounce her name properly) is tenuous. They sttaed they read the Pope's exhortations. They clearly never red the 1969 motu proprio of Paul VI which stated that the dressing of postulants as brides before receiving the habit was inappropriate as any bridal symbolism should be reserved for the profession of vows. Though I love the religious habit it's wise to remember that rhe habit does not make the nun, true sanctity requires no special clothing.

They no longer have nuns (maybe a few old) and convents are gone. So God Bless these wonderful nuns. Habit is important. So what if one mispronounced their founder's name
