Extreme care is required when unboxing the model espcially the pantograph and the instructions must be read.

This newly developed ballast renewal machine from Plasser & Theurer is equipped with two drive options - electric and diesel-electric (hybrid) - by
means of a 600 kW diesel engine. Driving engines and hydraulics are always driven electrically. The electric drive allows for a low-maintenance, as well
as silent and low-emission operation (CO2-reduced).
The trendsetting design is mainly function-orientated and keyed to enhance work safety. The model is to a high degree a copy of the prototype in terms of both function and design.

Operation optional in drive mode or working mode travelling forward at ca. 1 km/h with tamping unit moving vertically and horizontally. Pantograph motor-
driven, several light functions. Digital decoder with original sound for electric resp. diesel engine for DCC, MM and analogue mode DC, compatible
with RailCom. Excellently synchronized tamping unit with the drive motors and the sound. Premium two-part model with zinc diecasting chassis and two
synchronized drive motors ensuring a dynamic yet sensitive train operation, supported by integral current memories.
With coupler pockets acc. NEM 362 and attached system coupling.

That is sharper than any image or catalog could make. I have seen Faller's and I know Maerklin is releasing one... that is a beauty and have only seen and heard good things about it! Congrats on finally getting it!

Up To now that shop is great, Ive pre ordered another unique item , not sure how the import tax is delt with as I did not pay any up to now..
@@hovermotion Hi Jim. I think it depends on the operator and the service they use. Pittney Bowers rolls in all charges with the price so there is no surprise fees for me. But it depends of where the item comes from . Here in Northern Ireland, we are still part of the EU and the UK so I have had import fees from model trains I have bought directly from the US and they are done via Royal Mail and Parcelforce but when I have bought from the EU via Pittney Bowers. All is rolled in the final price so it comes to me with no hold ups. I just bought a Stadler Eurodual that will come in September on my channel. Peter.

Hi Mihir, Yeah at last I was nearly giving up on this loco...Glad I went the extra mile as it looks a stunning model to view in person..
Be very careful about the pantograph as it is very delicate. When putting back into the box always remember to put back the pin to stabilise the pantograph this is to prevent from accidental of causing the pantograph to be out of position due to accidental bending the panto when you turn over. Try turning over the loco without the holding pin and you will see the pantograph "falling" from its postion. I has mine "bend" while putting it back and the pantograph "dislodged " when i turn over trying to screw back onto the acrylic and now the pantograph does not sit fully at the base.

That looks very nice and at a good price. They are a good shop/eBayer I've got some nice stuff from them. That unboxing is nearly as complicated as getting a Trix Big Boy out of all it's boxes 😅

Thanks, I will wait and see how much extra it would be, I normally pay up front and then the items are delivered from the holding areas in the shipping company.
Hi Jim.
It looks like they have deducted 19% German sales tax - It is very disturbing if no VAT was charged on import and there is no follow up from the courier - I have had FedEx send me a customs invoice 2 weeks after delivery. With Parcelforce it is demanded before delivery. With UPS it is billed at the end of the month. Typically we get hit for a £25 handling charge and the 20% UK Vat on import.

I am totally confused on this import business. I know there are no charges under £120 and no hold ups at customs but a penny over and you get hit with % charges on the total cost..
I think many business have lost out exporting to the UK because of the impact on extra costs..
I think this shop has a special all in one price maybe...

I use MSL quite a lot, they use FedEx for shipping. Usually FedEx ask for payment of duty before delivery but there have been times when a package has come through and they request payment later, so be prepared for an invoice to arrive
