Man, i love your videos, please keep making them. When I stayed at Marriott on Soi 22, I always turned left, never thought to go right. And, I didn't even know about that walkway between the shopping malls, excellent work and such good quality.
I watch your channel for these tips and places. O'shea's looks like a great one. A break from Thai street food for some iIrish food awaits me on my next trip.
I have to keep track of the receipt just to remember how much I've drunk !😊 that glass door looks very clean at O'Shea's... I'd walk straight through it, lol. Great video...
Awesome video. I'm coming back in January to look at condos for my Spring 2025 Bangkok retirement. I've decided on Phrom Phong, and your videos are invaluable!
Phra Khanong is 3 stops down the line and the rents are MUCH lower . Easy walking distance to O Sheas / Royal Oak etc on a nice day , I can walk from my condo on Rama 4 in 25 minutes .
My buddy and I were at Stella's last night and it was packed with your TH-cam followers, lol. Happy travels to Tokyo. I will be back there Sunday and having some world class Yakitori (Omakase style, babee!)
Robin Hood was my favourite daytime bar , the corner booth first left when walk in door was my spot . The manager always sat down for chat , staff knew my drinks , Heineken, tiger promotion girls always a delight, never got into the Oak bar crowd bit clique for me 😇 seen the cheap Charlie’s bar memorabilia from Soi 11 moved new location bar , my Indian friends always made me welcome there , never had to buy drink these guys are seriously wealthy 😀
Great video, new subscriber. I'm going to Bangkok in 4 weeks and your videos are really good. Has anyone ever said you sound very similar to quagmire from family guy lol
Hey thanks for watching. Ya, the boys said I sound like Quagmire. Ha ha. I'll take that as a compliment. I am a pilot too. Small planes anyhow. Shoot me a comment if you're up for a beer. Plus, I want to start doing some basic interviews. Nothing personal. Just expat questions about moving, etc..
Would love a vid showing Boon’s perspective and advice - not too many female BKK bloggers - where to shop etc. don’t know if she wants that exposure but would love to see!
Yes, they do. Nothing wrong with that. Most Arab folks like to hang out on Soi 3 and Soi 5. Many Indian folks like to hang out on Soi 22. You go with what you know
Hello, thank you for all your efforts. If I visit Bangkok and want to take an excursion to Japan for a couple of weeks. Is there storage places for my extra suit case in Bangkok? Do banks offer safe deposit boxes there. Thanks again
You know I'm not sure. If you stay at a hotel, just tip the bellboy well, maybe 500b. He'll keep that bag safe for a few weeks. Even if you don't stay at a hotel, go to the Hilton or Hyatt. Those guys will take care of you if you take care of them. You can rent a small storage locker on Soi 22. It may cost much more than that. You'll probably rent by the month. I used to see storage lockers at the airport rail link. But, that was years ago. I don't pay that close attention. I'm in Tokyo today. Great city
@@EagerExpat I was in Tokyo in may, it was nice. Also In Bangkok for 4 days. Thailand suits my personality better than Japan. I think. Thank you for your suggestions
I have been to a few places that consider your alcohol and mixer as two drinks. Say you order a vodka soda ( or sota as the Thais say) they will give you a glass with vodka and a full can of soda. There are a lot of Thai mispronunciations I was in a bar and ordered a vodka soda and the bar girl said do you want absolute or mirnoff I said I will take an absolute I don’t know what mirnoff is. Later she showed me the menu and that is how she pronounces Smirnoff. Boy your uk bars close early lots of time I don’t go out until 9.30 so unless I was stopping for food I would probably have one and then continue down suhkhumvit. Does the phrom pong area have the late night street vendors for beer like other areas of suhkhumvit have?
Ya, that's more a red-light thing. Cowboy, Nana etc.. will do that. At O'Shea's a rum and coke is one drink. But, many think they are being ripped off. No, a screwdriver is usually two drinks. Vodka then OJ
I don't remember the hotel in the video. The Double Tree? Like any city in the world it depends. High Season might be $175 near the holidays. Low season weekend might be $50. $70 sounds pretty good as I sit here today in Tokyo. A nice size hotel here is way closer to $300 a night. Tokyo had a 23% hotel tax on top of that. That makes $70 look pretty good to me.
thanks...adding O'SHEAS to my list of places....liked the looks of the meal......all of these helps in planning a trip
I really like O Shea's. Great food too.

Thank you very much. Soi 22 is a great street
You drop so many gems in these videos. Definitely trying Im Chan when I get to Thailand next month.🙏
Im Chan is a go to spot. Great food at a good price. They even have beer.
Thanks for another great video Joe. Always enjoy the exploration.
Thanks for following along

Hey that's great to hear. You can always move. But, Phrom Phong is a great area to start

Robin Hood is a great bar. We often times start there, go to O Shea's and then Royal Oak
Thank you for posting these videos, I learn a lot about the city that I occasionally visit from Jomtien.
I really like Jomtien. Thank you for watching

Downtown Bangkok is always busy even during weekday, more busy during weekend.
Yes, with 16 million people in the area, it can get a little crazy
I'm really enjoying your videos. They'll keep me "satisfied" until I can visit!
Thanks for watching. Get back over here soon
Another great video!
Thank you very much

I ran it by her. She didn't sound to excited. Ha ha. She doesn't give me any grief when I'm always filming. That's good enough for me.
Always awesome! Video! Chance for another Tijuana video?
Hey thank you very much. No TJ videos from me anytime soon. I'm in Tokyo tonight. Those videos soon.
@@EagerExpat Thanks !! Tijuana has gotten very expensive!
Bangkok City amazing in evening hours 😊 Great restaurant also. Most foreigners love expats bars near asoke and Nana plaza area

Tx mate you are a good guy and Nice vlog❤
Thank you very much
Moo Ping underneath soi 24 station is tasty and convenient for breakfast after a morning jog at Benjakitti
That is a good spot. I've had a few meals. But, I'm an Im Chan man. Been going for a decade.

As a person who has a problem with stairs. Is it hard to cross the street in sukhumvit?
All the BTS stations have an elevator. Just use those to get across the street. A small challenge. But, it will get the job done.
😊
Thanks for watching Jim
I like street market food
You an me both. Good stuff

I’d say Lumpini is equally as good a park as Benjikkiti.
They're both nice. But I like the skywalk.
Hotel showing $70 and up per night, no bargain there, small room. Much better options in the area.

@@EagerExpat it was O’Shea’s Hotel
@@drjeff6956 Oh I'm surprised. It just looks like a basic place. They did just re-model the place.
