Leigh Morton that is so scary and yet when I read your comment it sounded so true. Josh is back on the property, the younger children taught to obey without question and not tattle are primed to be victimized by him. How could she leave when the children are at risk?

She will not leave until they are grown she will not risk being banned from seeing her kids that she loves and raised and has to protect.
I feel like she still has a lot she wants to do at home first before she finds someone and moves out since I think her parents have to approve of their future in laws. It might just take her longer to find someone since her parents still need help with the little kids around the house and Jana is the only one old enough to know what to do properly with her younger siblings since Joy,Jinger,John David,Jessa,Josiah and Jill are basically already married and moved out of the house. Jana is pretty much the only one left who’s is old enough to help her parents out plus I think I read somewhere that Jana didn’t want to be married off quiet yet or something like that. Even though she’s in her 30’s by now. Also Jana can’t really move out unless she’s married off and right now she’s not courting anyone yet. Basically somehow there was a good reason Jana was still living at home Iam sure she’ll eventually move out once the time is right once she’s engaged or married off. She clearly had some sort of plan she’s going through before she’s married off and right now it’s a good thing if she’s at home because of the pandemic that’s going on. And family is the most important thing right now there was something about Jana wanting to be married later on down the road but not right away or something like that as the reasoning for why she’s still at home.
I can see that. My oldest sister didn't leave home until she was over 30 and decided to go to college. I think a big part of it was that our dad died when I was 12 years old. Mom had a lot of health problems and she worried about her. Plus Mom didn't treat me very well during my teen years sometimes and my sister ran intervention on my behalf. I honestly think that she worried that Mom would turn on me if she left.
That has been my thought, she might feel a need to protect the younger kids.
Jana could totally be an influencer if JB&M were not holding her down.

I think she is fine with that probably thinks that they're doing it out of love because they care for her and she probably sees it that they are trying to protect you from harm it's all to do with her mindset.

I love Jana. She seems so sweet and I always thought she was the prettiest Duggar girl. She is also so talented in many ways and is very handy around the house as well. I’m happy to see she has her own little sanctuary/apartment at the family home but if her parents are still monitoring her social media/texts/etc, I think that is such an invasion of privacy given her age. In the other hand she never seems unhappy but it must be very, very difficult for her having everyone analyze her life and why isn’t she married and to speculate maybe she’s gay. I only wish the best for her and hope if she truly is completely controlled by her parents and miserable, she can get out of there.
Always look joyfull, that's what she's thought all her life! Of course she looks happy, JB can't have anyone seeing her true feelings. That would possibly mean that she's not allowed certain things!

When children are very young they need their parents to role model telling right from wrong. Slowly parents encourage their children to take more responsablity for their own choices--by trial and error and support from their family and community. Then as grown children they can make good decisions. Apparently JB and Michelle failed to do this as they need to monitor and correct their grown children's poor decisions. They do not trust their children. THEY raised them to be untrustworthy. THEY are failed parents.

It's more like they purposefully sabotaged their kids so that they, the parents, would always be needed to step in. They have rigged things so that they can be powerful and worshipped. They don't seem to understand that what they've done is very destructive and proves their major lacking as parents. And they won't ever find the ability to care. They get what they want: control. One question for all who r reading this comment? Why would any father or a mother chaperone an adult-smart daughter or a son or both if they did trust them. If u r confident in raising a child very well, the test of your upbringing is to trust them enough on their own. Chaperoning proves the weakness of your trust. I believe Jana is a very smart and capable woman that deserves 100% trust. She earned it, even though she was never married she is already a mature caring mother, look at how many siblings she has raised over the years since she was 5.5 years old. I wish I was invisible, it’s one thing to depends on her to babysit it another when u don’t trust her to make a good Christian woman decision. She is in my prayers. What goes around comes around.

Because they are control freaks...plain and simple. Fundamentalist approaches to religion are rooted in dogma and control. Jim and Michelle are inherently this way so that is why they are attracted to a religion that reflects their need for control.

If they were flying to LA together but doing seperate activities like she was going with her friend then that would be ok, but if he went to La with the intention of chaparoning her that's weird

In the Duggar family, a chaperone tags along when someone is courting. So this tells me Jim Bob has his suspicions about Jana and her friend. He is SO creepy!!!

I assumed she would stay with the younger girls simply because they lock themselves into the dormitory every night for "protection". Unless the responsibility has been passed onto Johanna, I assume Jana would still have that responsibility.
The Duggar girls room has always had two bathrooms and sinks outside the bathroom. She's still in the girls' room.
Was looking to see if this was already said. Also, the white and blue stripes were shown on a girl's room makeover episode. With other girls having moved out, there would be more space for a couch etc now.
Mary Duggar had a suite off the laundry area for a number of years. There are floor plans of the Duggar home where you can see the layout.
I think that is where she is, too.

Man the more I learn about this family the more it's kinda sickening. Them not getting any money for working she could make alot of money with her own show if shes that talented with gardening and fixing things up. Too much control. i honestly think it is she is worth so much to the family they dont allow her to leave. she is a female jack of all trades, a live in nanny. and to be honest all the girls are beautiful. i personally think janna is the prettiest. she is also the only female adult (i think she is the only female adult) still living at home. i really dont think she wants to leave its more shes not aloud or feels like she cant leave.
I personaly dont think she is inlove with her best friends. I think her best friend is the only person who she probably feels comfotable talking with about everything going on in her life, and talking with about her family. I feel sorrt for all the Dugger children their life story reminds me alot of leah remini with scientology. I wish all the kids the best. The light always prevails some it takes more time then others.

That is definitely the “girls room” where all the girls slept...with so many gone now (only Jana, Johanna, Jennifer, Jordyn & Josie left) and Anna living back with Josh there’s enough square footage to split the space...those “curtains” are clearly a room divider (in your video you can see right through them) so she has her own area. There were 2 bathrooms in that room, one on each side, so it makes sense she would take one to herself.

I love how Jana felt that she had to tell us she's a mother figure to her younger siblings as if the whole world didn't already know that.
I have to share that my great-aunt always lived at home. After my great grandfather passed away when she was in her mid 20s, she and my great grandmother lived together till by great-grandma passed 25 years later. She was the "maiden aunt", and held a special place in the family. She was amazing with all of her nieces, nephews, all of us greats, and kids in the extended family.
I dont want to know what my husband is looking at. I dont want to read his emails or texts. Prob because I KNOW I can trust him. And when it comes to hokey-pokey stuff, I'm his one and only hot mama!

I'll bet you Jana was the one getting up with them in the middle of the night. I know nasty Chelle wasn't exclusively nursing Josie or the one before her since she had an entire stand alone freezer with just breast milk in it when she was taking it to Josie in the hospital.
I can't remember if this was before or after I married a Mormon, they asked for my computer passwords, I refused to give it to them. Who knows what they would have done with my information. Mormons are almost like the Duggars.

@@laurenmaher127 I think they were like "oh, come on, you can give them to us". I wouldn't give them to them. I started to realize how controlling they were (they actually told me they didn't want a wife that was controlling, but really they were). I had to do the housework, because I was in school (I actually wanted a degree at the time), and they never believed I cleaned the house when I did without them watching, so I quit trying. Nowdays housewives vlog doing chores and cleaning, and people will actually watch them do that.

I used to watch the Duggars years ago and always thought they were a creepy to good to be true family. I have been around them a few times and live in the same state. I would say she lives there because its all she knows and they have said that for a daughter to move out they need to be married. She is not going to buck tradition. She is most likely satisfied and dealing with it ok. If I were in the same situation I would probably do the same thing if I could live somewhere that nice and I would save my money. I don't believe she is gay but she may very well be happy being single. I did not marry until I was 40.

I'm 33 and still live within my parents due to the fact that my dad needs help with everything and my mom can't do it all alone and my brother would never do for my parents what I do.

It looks as though she has put up sheets or drapes to sort of block off a ‘private’ area for her within the girls room and also gotten to claim one of the 2 bathrooms off of the girls room for herself! It’s a step up from basically having a bunk in the girls room but still isn’t her own space by any means!

i hate when people make fun of people living with their dads. i’m 33 and i had to move back home because of a serious illness. i could move back out now but haven’t yet because of money issues and not being physically or mentally strong enough. i hate that stigma here in the us. like your a loser if you live with your parents.
I think that she can't leave! Jim Bob Duggar won't let her. I think she would be so successful having a show on HGTV and just living in her own two bed house by herself.
What is Jana really missing out on in the world? There's rent, utilities, budgeting money, and other daily living expenses... shoot if I had the opportunity to stay at my parents house rent free or less expenses, that would be one less headache...

She's an adult and has every right to move out of her parent's house. The law is on her side. If she wants to move, she can move at any time. There has to be a money element as to why she's still living at home. Dad must give her an allowance and she doesn't want to give that up.
I think Jana knows damn well what she's doing. True, we all know Jim Bob's rules are batshit insane. But think about it: if Jana can stay single, and therefore continue living at home with free room and board, then she actually has the freedom to build her brand. That way she can hawk $200 beauty products and snap pictures of her home decorating projects without having to worry about going hungry or paying rent. And as long as it doesn't break any rules and is gender-appropriate, Jim Bob won't stop her-- because the more clout *she* gets, the more clout *he* gets by proxy.

I don't know why Jana is staying there but it doesn't seem like such a bad deal to me. If I were raised that way and didn't want to work at a regular job, it might be nice. Her parents pay the bills, she helps with household chores, apparently she has plenty of time for her hobbies. She was raised with family and might be very lonely in an apt alone. I do think she might be riding out some of the childbearing years. This is basically her time to have the break she didn't get growing up. As far as the restrictions - she's used to them. It seems normal to her.
I lived home into my early 30’s until I got married. I live in a state where rent is high. I paid off my education loans that way. Nothing to do with religion. Moved out when I got engaged

That is the girls room the only reason why I know that is because the blue and white striped pillar in the middle of the room is part of the girls room and I saw it get painted when I wash the redoing of the room on TH-cam
Off this topic but was thinking about what would happen to the big house once JB and Michelle pass. I feel like Jessa is trying to line up to get it but Anna and her husband would feel entitled to it as he is the oldest child.

As a teenager I always joked I would live with my parents until 30 lol. I moved out at 17 and never looked back. I lived very sheltered...Just not as much as poor Jana. I am almost 30 now and I just can not fathom still living with my parents. It took a lot of people to teach me how much they sheltered me from...Jana is gonna need that on a much bigger level. I hope that one day she gets the confidence to take a hold of her own life and get out of there with whoever she chooses. Even if its a woman! Jana deserves so much more in life then she is getting.
Jim Bob doesn't want to lose control of Jana. If JimBob and Michelle want to go away for a while Jana is expected to stay with the younger kids. Jana has asked to leave the home for school including being able to go to Juliard and she was told no. I think the parents don't want her to get married or to leave the house because she is a built nanny. Jana really needs out of that house. If capable of taking of all the younger kids then she's old enough to go n a trip with her friend without a chaperone . Further proof that JimBob is a control freak.

I don't fine the Covenant eyes app so horrible. They want to be above reproach. After the shame Josh put them all through, I am sure that makes them even more diligent in guarding themselves from sexual sins, as well as being more careful in what they view. Josh brought reproach and shame to the entire family......the adult children could leave if they wanted to. Many kids in ATI flee at the age of 18. She obviously doesn't mind living at home.
Sometimes the tracking app isn’t for keeping the kids accountable but because he can make sure he doesn’t run into them if he’s doing something questionable I used to keep up with my moms work schedule as a teen so I knew when to invite my friends over to the house without getting caught

Lana J ...That could possibly be true too ...But I lived in a bad situation with 2 emotionally abusive parents . My sister and I have an older sister 16 yrs older than myself then our middle sister is 5 yrs older than me. But she still left and got married at 18 because back in the day that was not unusual ...But she was my mother for all intense and purposes. Even though she loved the man she dated ...when he asked if she would marry him she told him “well...the girls and I are a package deal if you marry me that means you are marrying them too”...thankfully he said “well...I guess we are getting married then”😊💕...We didn’t actually LIVE with then, we still lived with our parents but they lived close by. I remember they got married when I was 5 and we were over at their house every weekend and they took us to church ...we spent most of our summers with them and went on vacations to the lake and camping with them . It wasn’t ideal ...we always wished we could live with them full time but that wasn’t HER fault ...it was our parents fault . This is the girls' room. The curtain near the start of the video covers the large dormer that had a couple of beds in it. Bathrooms are where they always have been, at the back of the room (the side without dormer windows). They repainted it (on a Counting On episode) with the striped pillars a few years ago. Presumably all five girls that haven't been married off are in this room.

They’ve said in past episodes that when the kids are courting, and they are texting with their person of interest, that Jim Bob sees what they are texting. It’s also a group text where one of the sister is on the text. They’ve said this in an episode before.
So when Jeremy was courting Jinger and would text her, Jesse would be on the group chat, and Jim Bob also had access to see everything they were saying.
It’s so hard for these adult kids to get away because they will lose everything they’ve ever known. And on top of that not only the parents but all their siblings too. It’s easy for me to say go away live your life etc but the kind of loss that would bring her is heartbreaking to think about. If she’d come out as gay and move away she’d lose her whole family. It's probably the room JimBob's mother used to live in - the upstairs has two big rooms - one for the boys and one for the girls - plus the parents room -- and a few little rooms that are connected to the kids bedroom - there aren't a bunch of multiple rooms that they moved kids between - google the floor plans for the duggar home - it will come right up. The rumor about Jana's friend Laura has been around for at least a year - if not more. Jana addressed it not too long ago and said they are just friends. Not sure if Jana is a talented designer - she likes to copy things she sees on pinterest - lots of people do. I saw some info from someone who claims to be an insider a few months ago - she used to attend their home church - she knew quite a bit about Josh's issues that I hadn't heard before. She said that she believes Jana is very happy with her life and doesn't believe she's gay. This person was about the same age as the older Duggar girls and has since left the fundie lifestyle. I tend to believe her. She sounded legit.

Just because someone gets married doesn't mean they're suddenly this drastically different person who now is mature enough and trusted to do things alone but that seems to be how it works here. Of course, you could say the married Duggars are under the control of their husbands, so could they insist their wife needs a chaperone to do something on their own? It's just too much. At some point you just let a person live their life. Doing things alone can be really nice sometimes and the world isn't that scary.
How do you know if she has attempted to move out? How do you know that she wanted to be on social media? How do you know that her presence on social media is due to fans pressuring the Duggars?

I don't consider it strange living at home with your parents past 30 because renting or buying a house nowadays is so expensive and you need a good size deposit to get a mortgage.
Therefore the longer you live at home the more money you save they can put towards a deposit for home. My cousin lived withv hers up to early thirties in an annexe apartment and she's ac pharmacist. She did not move till she got married
If she finally has her own room, this is a step up. She is thirty, she deserves her own privacy. ^_^ I just hope she can one day live her happiest life and be her true self (if she is gay, but I'm not too sure about that one). I just wish all these adult kids could be who they are and their parents would still love and support them.

I also think part of it could be, since Jana's the eldest daughter, she's been a caretaker/nanny/mother figure to her siblings all her life. She might not want to have her own family because of all that.
Like others have stated Michelle might not want to lose her nanny and godforbid parent her own children.
