I was thinking the same thing. Like 4 scouts could of killed all the monks that ACCM had, and then he would of destroyed.
That's exactly what I was thinking. The opening was so brutal it looked unrecoverable. But ... monks? Really? Full map control, massive lead, and the monks do it? Like, that's not Monk+Pike+Huskarl or Monk+Knight, it's just Monk. You could destroy an opponent's TC in the heart of their base, but not the near-unguarded vills in the middle? Scout Cav, please!

well my main civ is celts, and when i do what this guy does, its very hard to keep an eye out on base, but its very important. Play once and then judge him again, if you aren t over 1800 rank you can t blame him
the 2nd castle foundation wasn't eve started to build, it has 1 HP, the woad was standing on it so he can't build but when it's converted the 0.00001 second the game consider the woad not exist thats when foundation is started however only 1 HP and vil can't start building it due to new converted woad standing on it so it just kills it. it's pure bug in game as u can see the woad is always standing on the castle foundation and it started to build while woad still standing on it when it get converted and if u watch carefully, the woad attacks the castle before it appears and start building. Hoang didn't lose from going to IMP, he lose from that castle. play it at 0.25 speed and watch the castle didn't start building
you can place foundation of buildings on your units but cannot start the building until they get aside. I think its not a bug, i mean the woad then got converted and hit the castle standing there as it was 1 HP. But i don't know why the castle foundation had 1 HP, is this a new feature in DE bcz i know farms foundations have 1HP but does this applies to other buildings as well??
You're correct. Even watching it at normal speed, it seemed suspect to me.
I agree the only reason hoang lost was because of that or at least the mayor reason.
Hoang during his stream was so confused by the castle situation that he was apparently tilted (not rage but pure confusion) after loosing the castle foundation. I agree the castle bug lost him the game
It wasn't a bug, it was pure gold the timing it happened, Te closest thing to the castle was the wolf, and it was converted if attacked the closest thing, that was the foundation of the castle in Te exact moment it started building....pure timing lol
I wouldn't call it a throw. The 2nd castle deny was mostly luck.
He threw the game when he rushed without taking map control.

No, you can call it a throw as Haong failed to produce military throughout the game.
It’s mainly due to his play style and the fact that he seems to freeze up when he gets unexpected push-back.
@@NathanCassidy721 if you compare him by meta standards you could call every game he loses since throw since he always fails hard at some "basic" thing or another.

Khmer are the best civ to use them with, too because of double crossbow in Imperial, which makes each scorpion fire 2 projectiles.

@@the_rover1 That's not accurate. English longbows could not and can not penetrate steel plate armor. The heavily armored French knights were stopped by sharpen wooden stakes or abatis, which protected the English Longbowmen from Calvary charges. The rest of the French army primarily consisted of moderately or lightly armored sergeants, levy infantrymen, and archers that got picked off by the Longbowmen while trudging through mud.
@@FrogWalrus what about battle horses. have they been fully armoured with plate armour...? in case the heavy knight fell to the ground, and somehow managed to get up on his feet again, how did they approach the english forces on muddy terrain? it was raining just hours prior to the french vanguard knights deciding to attack.
@@the_rover1 Most horses only had head armor and weren't fully encased in plate. The cavalry charge itself was premature, initiated at the start of the battle, and apparently was completely disorganized, with nearly half the knights still at the French camp. From what I've read, the mud also heavily effected the cavalry charge.
Personally I believe the English won the battle in spite of an army composed of 80% Longbowman, not due to it. The French army was superior, but the English had far better position and tactics. It seems the English also had better leadership.
In most scenarios a French army of 12000-15000 soldiers, composed of men-at-arms, archers, and a few thousand heavily armored knights, would smash and route an English army of 6000-9000 soldiers with 80% being Longbowmen. The battle of Agincourt just wasn't one of those scenarios. Brain beats brawn.
@@FrogWalrus indeed, I fully agree on your arguments above. I thought about it more carefully after posting my reply as I remembered a recent lecture at university (prehistoric archaeology) to not get confused with popular science and folklore, but relate on evidence that is on the table. historic science is always a matter of which sources you pick and which you ignore. which may opens new perspections or deepens a path already being gone.
firstly, we will never completely understand and get to know what really happened on that day since much information about the surrounding happenings, social interactions and decision making have been lost forever and therefore cannot be gained.
it's like making assumptions on a crime scene. some things just don't seem to fit.
what we do know is, that the french arrived on the spot bit by bit and not in close formation or even ready for battle. they had a tough walk as well, and ground began to get muddy at around noon due to overnight rain. chronicles state, that the french heavy cav decided to upright attack and not wait for the footmen to arrive (mailed sergeants, pavese crossbow contingent, etc). the english had superior positioning uphill in between two close forests with rudimentary fortification like the tipped spikes you mentioned earlier in order to prevent a devastating cav charge.
the english man at arms stood alongside their longbow archers, which used the open terrain in order to send volley after volley. bodkin arrows do harm flesh and uncovered/leather covered/gambeson covered body parts, but may not penetrate plate armour and do only mediocre harm to still in use chainmail armour. war horses on the other side were significantly more vulnerable to arrows than the knights they had on back and provided a bigger target to hit. a plate armoured knight on ground had, in fact, pretty solid moverability given the armour was custom built to his body size. if the knights made it up the hill, in the thick of the battle, as supreme professional warriors at their time era, they were combatted by the english men at arms and most probably driven back. the ones still on horseback (tactically?) retreated due to little charge effectivity and rode over the arriving pavese crossbowmen, who didn't have the opportunity to shoot efficiently to make a difference and tip the pitched battle.
it is said the heavy knights assaulted right away as they didn't see much threat in those 7000 english archers and did not want to share the honour of the triumph with the french footmen. but this is subject to discussion.
In my opinion, Hoang got overly focused on the future at the end of this one. He was overstressed and needed a break from the action, and that's when ACCM saw his chance to pounce, like you said--I believe it came down to ACCM's foresight, his ability to recognize that Hoang was caught in a moment of weakness. Hoang made the first thousand moves, but ACCM only needed one to end it. Also, Khmer is pronounce kuh-mai (forvo.com/word/khmer/). Keep up the great casting, T90! It's always a pleasure to listen to you.

We've been practicing for a while now and we have slowly been getting better. I've binged tons of your uploads including HC3, BOA, the LEL's and the NAC3 matches (my favorite). Thanks to you and players like Daut, Liereyy, MbL, Viper and others, we've been slowly getting better. I just played my first two ranked matches and I won! I know I still make noob mistakes, but I've been trying to follow all of your and the other elites of the game in how you play and your strategies. Thanks for making me feel like I'm not a complete nerd for still loving this game after all these years, and I hope some day I can be a legend like these fine players!
It baffles me everytime that people don't go for monastery and siege workshop against hoang right away instead of throwing knights into his monks

Shout out to ACCM for turning the tables. Also I learned to never quit the game even when loosing. I always did this but when I reveal map and see others eco after match I realized I could have done something, this something was done by accm.

fairaly clear why he lost tho, Accm was obsesivly getting hes economy up and maintaining it as much as possible, even when he had less vilagers they were allways working, Celts on the other hand had alot of them just standing around or not farming what he needed, still sick skills from ACCM to survive long enough and well enough to put those res to use and slowly get back

That's the reason, why Hoang is top50 and a semi-pro instead of top20 and a real pro. He isn't flexible enough to quickly realise he needs to change tactic and adapt.
But the progress of this guy is still visible, maybe top20 soon. ;)
He needs to play other civs other than celts or huns. And also adapt with other tactics. With that done, he has a lot of potential.
I really want to see Hoang eat TC with Incas. Sure the siege isn't AS strong but he already attacks with villagers, and Inca monastery isn't the worst thing. Imagine his play with buffed vills!

Ahhhhhhh, the old days of Capture Age - and Hoang: where he didn't yet acquire and execute the strategy of booming!!
The Castle thing must surely have been a bug, cause how building buildings/castles in this game works is u put down the foundation, that foundation has 1 hp and is untargetable and cant take dmg not even from an attack ground as well as it can only be seen by your team.
Then as soon as the first villager starts building it can instantly be attacked, but the hp doesnt rise by 1 it rises in bigger steps lets say each tick the villager gives 20 hp to the foundation (cause the game processes in ticks and each tick the vill gives a set amount of hp), that already is too much for one woad raider to onehit as the woad raider has like 9 (?) Dmg? Like i didnt look up the numbers, but im sure the foundation either is on 1 hp or on like 21-50 and there is no in between so there is no chance the woad could have destroyed it like that.
The woad must have destroyed the foundation when it was on 1hp and shouldve been untargetable.
as a defensive player seeing hoang lose like this is very satisfying
if these replays are demo files, start playing in the middle giving players control of each side on a custom game is perfectly possible. Someone just have to do a tool for it. like get a demo file state at some point and create a custom map out of it.

Just out of curiousity; How do they manage to get that many games? Even if many of them are under 10 minutes, it will take time. Can't wrap my head around this.

Even with the Castle situation Hoang should of NEVER lost that game not getting eco upgrades till 40 min mark not getting LC like come on earlier on so monks couldn't convert as easy even a better 1sr castle drop from the beginning there where SO SO SO many ways Hoang could of closed that game HE LOST THAT GAME. Castle drop issue or not.
Afterall Huang isnt that good countering his counter. He could have gone light cav way way earlier seeing ACCM starting a U turn with monks. And he is absolutely surprised how ACCM come back into good econ from 0 TC, and attack his castle with rams, scorpions and knights. Tho he is unlucky with the 2nd castle destroyed, total game changer!

It takes a while for monks to convert a building, and they have to be next to it vs at a distance. It’s typically too dangerous to be hanging around an enemy building/ base for that long

Where were Huang's pikemen? He had the techs, he had the buildings, he couldn't get to the monks and siege with his light cav because of the knights. It would have been so easy for him to create a few, and he would have been back in control of the engagements.
Scorpions counter pikes and his food eco wasn't good enough to mass them
@@krityaan He was using light cav (food intensive, bad against scorps) and woad raiders (bad against scorps) - mixing pikes with the light cav wouldn't have made anything worse with regards to food usage and scorp issues. He had enemy knights raiding him, nowhere near scorps, so at least keep some pikes on the flanks where the knights were coming in.

That’s the Khmer farming bonus. Farmers don’t have to drop off their food at TCs or mills. They just continuously put food in the bank as they gather it. The only time it’s interrupted is when they walk to a different spot on the farm to collect from.

If Hoang had his second castle, none of this would have mattered, even with all that gold ACCM woudn't have been able to push two castles without imp. And I really disagree that going imp was a bad decision for Hoang, the bad decision was switching into woad. Hoang should have upgraded his light calv to Hussar and kept pumping them out, maybe even add a few stables. Still though, ACCM got so frigging lucky with that castle.
