A few of us guys got together back in '77. We called ourselves the Paris Mountain Boys. We played at Southside and a few other places, mostly in the dorms and practice rooms. We were asked if we would play "Turkey in the Straw" at a Saturday "Student Body." We had to get it checked first. After listening for a bit, Ken Pruitt crossed his legs really high and said, "guys, I don't think that checks." Oh well. That was then. This is now. Maybe we cleared the ground for you.
Mr. Britt, we thought BJUgrass did an excellent job this year in both sets, and were pleased to have them participate in the IBMA Foundation's Bluegrass College Band Showcase again during World of Bluegrass. Thanks for your comment! -Nancy Cardwell, IBMA Foundation Executive Director
I love bluegrass music. I grew up in Anderson, about 30 miles from BJU. We drove over to Greenville many times to attend the Sunday Vespers Services at BJU, and a class of mine went over and toured the BJU Art Museum which was very impressive! I have a good friend who attended Bob Jones Academy. I also remember that back then, in the 1950-60 era, having "Bob Jones graduate" on your resume was a big plus in finding a job! Thanks for the great music!
Lovely, I never would have imagined the changes to BJU since I was on campus in the 60's and 70's. As a product of Bob McKenzie and Blanford Dixon McKenzie from the dining common fame, our family has been supporting BJU since the ground breaking and signing of the Charter in the Library of our Panama City home. I'm glad to see the joy. Confused about some of the changes. ❤🙏❤ Jane Tutte Mayberry, Hopkins, S.C.

It’s about time you introduce some Bluegrass strings. There are those that play the violin and those that play the fiddle. Same instrument same beauty. Both can bring glory to God. Comparing people to violins or fiddles, I’m a fiddle. 💕
Love from PA, age 74. Wonderful to hear Christian young people sing Blue Grass!
I am 84 years old and love you Blue Brass Pickers. I am also a Church organist for 52 years. Than you, Amen
