Great video to watch right before going fishing.. I can’t wait for Saturday.. 🤙🏽 again thank you Benjie for these fun fishing videos. Very nice leopard shark..
Hi Benjie , So fun to watch as always , I met you in person first day of the PCS Okuma I’m Frank Hispanic guy asking allot of questions ha ha . Hey brother always enjoying your content , million 👍 Likes!!
Thank you so much, yea I think it would've taped at like 38 to 40 inches but not sure. Grateful to have beached it. Granted it was on the back but still fun to feel that pull. Tight lines!
@@BenjieKimFishing definitely over 38, that was a tank. Thank you so much for your content. I’ve had some great experiences thanks to the information your videos provide.
hahaha no lie I was considering editing out a couple of those "I saw a fin!!" screams. I annoy myself but hey, I am who I am, let's just let it roll lol. Thanks for the comment, tight lines!
Thanks Leonard! I did film a session recently where I caught with the squid. I'm gonna make the video but might be a couple weeks before I get it up for you guys. Wishing you a great weekend! Tight lines!
Beautiful afternoon surfcasting. You probably know those sizable Leopards are good on the table when steaked like a salmon. Also, I'd like to know what is your take is on switching out the jerk baits (LC or whatevers) 3 trebles to 2 single hooks. Please reply.
Thank you Ron, always great to see your comment and I hope you are well. I always use a braid backing and I'm always in a state of transition with that lol. I've gone from 30 to 20 and currently using 15. Just trying to maximize sensitivity and casting distance. I'll use a fluoro leader anywhere from 12 to 20 pounds when throwing the Lucky Craft, mainly for abrasion resistance and pulling out snags in heavy structure. For halibut and striper I go with 15 pounds. Def on the lighter side but I am more of a finesse fisherman. For perch, I'm good with anywhere between 6 to 12 pounds depending on where I'm fishing and the rig I'm using. Tight lines!
Thanks for the info. How long is your leader? Knots, wind knots, or tangles in braid for me are a terrible waste of fishing time. Plus braid seems to fray some; needs changing frequently? @@BenjieKimFishing
Down here currently. Is it worth trying for halibut in late may? Would like to chat about what to target down here and with what. I'm from Michigan! Appreciate all the info!
hahaha I mean no disrespect to rays and sharks, I think the main thing for me is that they're not my target species. So even tho they are brutes and challenging to land, when I see it's not a big flat one or sea bass my first instinct is disappointment.
Just moved to SD can you share this location with me. Ive gone to silver strand and only surf perch so far i stay in chula vista. I appreciate you and your videos are full of info! Thank you sir! @bkf

Thank you so much Mike!! So excited to see you and the others!! Let's goooooo!
Landed a 24 today too at super low tide ! They are back, just keep casting yall
First let’s go Okuma San….
Those fights are what I live for, the tug is the drug 😂🍻
Thanks man, yea it was a lot of fun especially because I thought the bite was done and I had missed my shot a bit earlier. Tight lines!

Thanks Benjie, learning how to fish CA waters with each video.
Really enjoyed this video Benjie!
Appreciate you Josh, tight lines!
Man those leopards are tough even on heavy set ups, this must’ve felt amazing on that light action rod! Great video sir 🤙

Thanks Marco, stoked to see you and everyone tomorrow!!!!
Nice video Benjie........can't wait to get back out in the surf.....are you going to feature the new Squid patterned LC in an upcomming video?

When was this session? I’ve seen nothing but big swells and breaks in SD lately. Nothing like 1 foot swells
This was quite awhile ago....sometime in December I believe.
A fish is a fish. The tug is the drug.
Plz recommend good beach for surf in OC area.
Every single beach in OC holds fish and can be very good fishing. Huntington City as well as State beaches are good options. As is Bolsa Chica.
Lots of hook up and catches. ou prefer fluorocarbon line over mon or braid? What lb. test is your go to for surf halibut, striper or perch?
Thank you Ron, always great to see your comment and I hope you are well.

Really good time for halibut right now, so absolutely worth a shot.
WHO has that color benjie? where can i find it?
Hey Benjie, what reel are you using?
What pole length are you using? I live in San Francisco Bay area
Poor leopard sharks 😂
They just don't get the respect their bigger brothers do!

@benjikimfishing
I’ve never hooked a bass from shore at least not a sand bass lol
Salad, wind, swells, dirty water, but other than that it’s perfect…😂
Hey Benjie, you gonna be at PCS?
I was there all day yesterday at the Okuma booth. Unfortunately won't be there the rest of the days.
what kind of rod you use and how many lbs of line? I wonder
In this video I'm using the Phenix Trifecta Lite 903, 20 pound braid with 15 pound Opsin fluorocarbon.
@@BenjieKimFishing Can 20lbs of braid enough for Hallibut? Thank you for answering!

Do they work in the night?
Yes. I recommend any version of the Half Mirror Glow and charge it up with a UV light.
Is this in San Diego?
SD County 👍

Why you always have to say last cast until you hook up lol
Because my last cast is usually 150 casts lol!
@@BenjieKimFishingI don’t think any fisherman ever has stopped at one cast after “one last cast”
Switch up to a slower punching swim bait presentation.
