Welcome to LISBON, PORTUGAL! This was by far one of my favorite layovers to date, thank you so much for watching and coming along. Have an awesome weekend! JJ
Hi Julia👋🏼Your vlogs are so appreciated, for many reasons. When I watch one of your videos, I know I am going to see the world through the eyes of a very humble person, who appreciates the blessings of traveling to new places and enjoys sharing the adventures with others. You take the time to carefully edit, setting the beautiful scenery to just the right music. You don’t over dramatize your experiences, rather, you describe them in a way that displays you are mature beyond your years. Thank you so much for all the work you put into each and every vlog, whether they be of the travel variety or just hanging around home. You are beautiful inside & out! Sending much love your way💕💕💕
Lisbon is truly one of my favorite cities. Yes it is very hilly. I remember my mom getting a battery changed in her Gucci watch which had over 25 pieces. There was an old time watch store on the corner and the wonderful man was able to change it and actually put it back together. Beautiful memories since my mom is no longer with me.
I love how Luna is so energetic and has that smile when she sees mommy. Definitely brightens up a room. Also Lisbon was gorgeous and I hope you go there again soon.
Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, has been chosen as the most cost-effective capital city in Europe for 2023 according to a recent poll by ABTA, a major organization of travel agencies and tour operators. The annual travel poll studies travel expenses in 35 European destinations. Lisbon emerges as the top pick for a cheap city trip.
Yes, Julia, the beautiful beaches are out by Cascais, which is a 35/40 train from Cais Do Sodre station. To go to Sintra, where the Moorish castles are, and Pena Palace, you hop on the train from Rossio Station. Also about a 35 minute ride. To really see all Lisbon and the surrounding area has, you need 5/6 days. There is so much to get enthralled in. Some of my favorites were Eduard the 7th park, Fonte Luminosa, Santa Justa elevator ( with amazing views of the city). Belem tower, and Praco do Commercio.
Awww, I was just there. Just before you said you got lost searching for the castle, I was like turn around, go through the arch. 😂 we took my 89 yo mother-in-law to Lisbon and was amazed how she managed the hills/cobblestones. Granted we took more taxis than we normally would for her. I too found the food so fresh and affordable in Lisbon. I’m an expat living in Germany but the food in Lisbon was a real treat.
Well you’ve successfully plopped another gorgeous destination on my bucket list!! Wow! So gorgeous!!! So glad that medical emergency worked out ok. Those can be scary! But as you referred to, training is SO vital. In my years in EMS I couldn’t begin to tell you how often that training just automatically kicked in on a bad call. It’s like it just comes naturally to remain calm and be able to do your job. Then it’s afterwards that you kinda freak out. Lol! So you had a helper to get packed and ready for this trip. It would’ve been a bummer to not be ready. Lol! Always love seeing Ms Luna in your videos!! Fantastic video as always!! Have a blessed week! ❤️✈️
Yes our training is so vital! I can only imagine the immense pressure you are under as an EMS and thank you for doing what you do! It’s greatly appreciated 🙂 have a great week and thank you for watching!
I enjoyed this one! My wife is Portuguese and we visit Portugal every year to see family (we live in Philadelphia also - northern suburbs). Lisbon is an amazing city! Now you know why its nickname is the City of Seven Hills! It's a workout for sure! If you end up there again, I'd also recommend going to Obidos. It's an hour or so north of LIsbon, but worth the trip! Another castle with the town inside the walls.
Oh Luna! You are just becoming more and more adorable 🥰 Helping your Mom pack ❤ I am so sorry the start of your flight was a medical emergency, Julia. Am happy the passenger has recovered. Thank you to all flight attendants for being there for your passengers’ safety and care.
Wow, that scenery is fantastic! When I saw your community post of your new trip, I immediately thought of Portugal based off the pictures lol. Looks you had a great time!
Love people watching and roast beef sandwiches.. What a nice little adventure. Flight attendants are very important in the transportation industry for sure. You don't get enough credit for the training and the logistics to make it all work. You get to go to some fun places even if it's just a day. In the end, there is no place like home.
Yep I could see why this trip would rank up there! Gorgeous! Hehe the assistant packer :) Love the pin too! Big time props to you and your colleagues answering the call to that emergency. 🥰🥰 Glad the person is ok.
Hi Julia, Lisbon looks absolutely amazing. I hope you get to return in the near future. I am glad Luna was able to help you pack. Thank you for keeping us safe in the skies while travelling. You do an amazing job as cabin crew.
Absolutely Yessss !!! Lisbona e' bellissima, Grazie Giulia per il video , molto bello !!!! i just hope that you have drink just a little bit of Porto, i think that you'll love it ... see you again here !!! Bye !!!
Might I suggest for your next visit, the trams are a fun way to see the city and not too difficult to use; my friend and I on our Lisbon visit rode them and just fell in love with them to get around
Awesome! So glad that you had a great layover! I was able to watch it on a TV as we moved and the people left a smart TV that my husband knows how to get things to connect, whohoo! Lisbon looks beautiful and wishing you the best for upcoming travels and your first Halloween in PA!
Luna, a beautiful flight attendant’s assistant. Yep, I can see the difference between a stair master and the steps in Lisbon. In Lisbon, there is an elevation difference. Great seeing your fridge being covered by the location magnets. Have fun.
So glad you enjoyed Lisbon. We have visited Lisbon a few years ago and are revisiting next May. Thank you for reminding us how beautiful the city is. Xx
I had a 2&1/2 hour layover in Lisbon last year(on my way to Spain), which gave me enough time to eat some Portuguese food and pick up some souvenirs, but I definitely want to come back and explore more of Portugal. I climbed many stairs in Seville and schlepped my luggage on cobblestone streets in 90-degree heat, but would do it again!!🤩 I'm glad you had a great time Julia!! ❤
Hahaha you definitely need to come back to explore. I would climb all the cobblestone streets in Europe in the heat just to be there. Thank you for watching! ♥️
Hi Julia looks like you made the right decision to be based in PHL much better trips. I always loved laying over in LIS. As fas as the onboard M.E. glad it all worked out always nice to have the help of medical professionals. Have you ever had to use the Defib? I did twice in my career. I didn't know you're Union Steward
Hi! Loved Lisbon. I have had to use the defib but it was actually not on a plane, a family member of mine had a medical emergency once and I used my skills from being a FA to help them. Thank goodness they are okay and I’m so thankful for my training!
What a beautiful vlogg Julia!!! Loved ur hotel room. The scenery was unbelievable!!! My knees were screaming when u had to go back up the steps.😅 Thanks for sharing ❤ ✈
Another great video Julia. Nice to see your helper, Luna. Since moving to Pa it seems like you tend to get more European trips. Thats really nice. Safe travels. ✈✈✈✈🐕🐕
One of my absolutely favorite places that I’ve been lucky enough to visit! The hills are crazy there, and there is no way to avoid them if you want to see things other than the waterfront! Thanks for sharing 😀
Oh wow 😃 that's so cool, I've read a book where one of the settings was in Lisbon, Portugal, and ever since, I've been wanting to visit. Edit: Ms. Luna ❤🥰
Hi Julia, I just read American Airlines will start flying from Philadelphia to Copenhagen (Denmark) where I live. Hopefully you will get the chance to see Wonderful Copenhagen. I’m absolutely positive you would love my city and it would be fantastisk to see one of your blogs from Copenhagen. The weather is usually best from May to September, so fingers crosses you’ll get a trip in the summer month. Greetings from Copenhagen 🇩🇰
Went to Lisbon in June and I did the same thing with those stairs I went the wrong way and it was 35 degrees! It’s so beautiful but didn’t have enough days to do everything
Lisbon is by far my fave European city! Definitely do visit Sintra, it’s worth it!! It has multiple castles though so make sure to look up which ones you want to visit before getting there.
I recommend doing a guided tour of Sintra, Cascais, and Cabo Da Roca (most western point of continental Europe) - I booked through Airbnb Experiences and it was awesome that a local will drive you around and take you to hidden gems.
Welcome to LISBON, PORTUGAL! This was by far one of my favorite layovers to date, thank you so much for watching and coming along. Have an awesome weekend! JJ
Love thisss

I agree, pick any food category and restaurant and I find food/drink half of what is here in Toronto.
Ohhhh, Luna is so cute, wagging that tail!
I just started watching your videos until 3:30am and I cannot put my phone down. Your humility is so refreshing ❤❤❤

Luna is so funny! Too bad you can't teach her to fold and put away laundry.
LOL!
Hahaha oh I wish I could! 🤣🐶🐾
I've thought the same about our dogs. But not in the cards other than stealing sucks or hopping in the basket when it warm.
A nice trip in Lisbon, Portugal!❤
It really was, I already can’t wait to go back!
Love the shoutout to Nesta in the ACOTAR series - I’m reading the last book in that series right now ☺️📚

Awww, Luna was your assistant packing ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Hi julia, i love your vlogs, i like the fact that you show us what you are doing instead of just talking about it.❤
Beautiful! I haven't been there for a number of years. We stayed at Lapa Palace and went to the castle. I loved the coffee and pastries!
Yes! The trip to Sintra is magnificent!

What a beautiful old city.
So glad you enjoyed Lisbon. We have visited Lisbon a few years ago and are revisiting next May. Thank you for reminding us how beautiful the city is. Xx
Thank you Julia , that was a really beautiful video, from start to finish . What a lovely interesting city , with spectacular views .
Well this was timely, thanks. We arrive in Lisbon on a cruise 11/1 and fly LIS/PHL on your airline on the 3rd. Can't wait!
I find is so funny you leave the huge metroplex of DFW and go to Phillidelphia and get way more international. Portugal is a great place!
Not really surprising. PHL is AA's primary hub for it's European network. Acquired in the their merger with US.
Always look forward to your videos. You let use travel through you. Im getting to old to travel anymore.
Glad to see you back fit and well. Happy landings.
I loved seeing this beautiful trip....wow!! Thanks Julia for sharing this gem of a city!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching 🙂
Julia, being fair skinned, SUNSCREEN. My red haired mom used to burn so easliy when we lived in Hawaii, the sun near the equator is intense!
Hahaha yes I did wear sunscreen, thankfully I did not burn at all!
Good, SPF 90 might do it....
Waaaait
We are not near the equator
We went to Lisbon last November and really loved it too!
Love the ponytail
