So suggestion is to play consistent during matches but what about practice? Incorporate closer to desired level of shot selection and try it (to get mistakes and feedback), correct?
No, in my opinion most players try and hit the ball way to hard in practice and miss too many shots. Then in matches they either keep doing the same, or completely change to floating the ball. The better option is to work on consistency on practice as well and gradually improve / increase the speed of the consistent rally ball.
Thanks a lot for your wisdom. I just finished my second UTR Flex League in Sydney, right now rated 3.74. Enrolled in OTI and Fuzzy Yellow Balls and devouring any good advice I can find online. I'm on a quest to improve my serve, having found out surprisingly that I have a waiter serve. For 2 months now, I have been shadowing every night at home, and the shadows are good indeed! Until I toss the ball... Well, sorry for sidetracking. I just wanted to point out that you are super right, I am winning every match by focusing exactly in passing the ball over the net one more time than my opponent. Up to 4.5 UTR works, but I have to improve my depth because when playing with higher levels, short balls mean lost points... I'll keep an eye on your videos coach!
Glad you enjoyed the video! OTI and FYB have some great content. I can't remember the name of the OTI coach (James I think), but he has a number of good videos on creating the racket drop on the serve 💪
Well, everybody´s got some different problems. I can´t complain about my shot selection. Reduced it from "all in" to something more reasonable recently. And on a day when my aim tolerance is one Meter, I aim 1.20 m inside the side lines, that´s no rocket science. My footwork is my Kryptonite. Especially whenever the ball flies harmlessly towards me, my feet just stand flat on the ground, making me choke half my shots. And knowing about it doesn´t mean being able to do something about it. Far from.

@@TennisHacker Got it, thanks. I suffer from overplaying as well (only one year of playing, starting in 25) so it's an issue haha
