You can take this track and put it straight into Grim Dawn and you'd have no idea. There's several areas in that game that share the same exact tone, even guitar notes. Even the way it's played is the same. I absolutely love it.

I think a huge part of my love for the fortress of meropide quests was the INCREDIBLE soundtracks. I live for game OSTs that really put their whole soul and blood to invoke the right emotions.
Fontaine reminds me a lot of Bioshock 1, this whole water city aesthetic and especially the Meropide Fortress... Besides, of course, Fontaine is the name of the villain of Bioshock 1, so yeah. These soundtracks are wonderful! The first soundtrack of the Fortress, exactly at 3:05, gives me goosebumps like no other. The Genshin Impact team did a great job with the music choices in this update, honestly Fontaine is the city I loved the most.
The fortress has hands down the best tracks in the game honestly, every single one of them is just so incredible honesty. Can't stop listening to them, they're just all around perfect and have such a cool atmosphere to them

I don't think it's possible to convey the vibe of this area through music any better. Such an eerie, yet strangely calm soundtrack. Like quiet acceptance of the shittiness of the place, especially Wriothesley's theme. Honestly that's kind of what life feels like at times

Hoyo-mix delivers once again! I loved all of the Fortress of Meropide soundtracks. It was such a vibe playing through the Archon quest to this music. The rest of Fontaine had nice music don’t get me wrong, but it sounded more like regular classical music and didn’t have the same individuality as these “prison” soundtracks had.
