Disclaimer: Written and produced by MadV as a fan project and pitch song for Lana Del Rey. Inspiration was drawn from Lasso as a concept, the name of her upcoming country album. I generated a voice that sounds similar to Lana through Ai, and prompted it over 450 times to sing my lyrics the way I wanted it to, in the style I envisioned. I added instruments on top of the out-put and did layering through music production software, to make the sound cohesive. If I could, I would give Lana this song, as I made it for her, and for fun because I love music. I seek no financial profit from it. We need a reality check here. This is terrible and most of the positive comments are from bots. No disrespect to whomever made this as a fun project, but if you actually like LDR's music then the 'voice' is awful, the 'melody' is crap, the 'production' is so blah, the 'lyrics' are a cheap imitation and my days the 'photo' is a catastrophe.
Lana Del Rey would hate anyone trying to say this is how she sounds or writes. AI 'music' will ruin real music if we're not careful - it can't do what great artists like LDR can do and it's ridiculous to pretend and to get bots to then say it's great. 🎀

The industry is full of crappy music. I'm a big Lana fan but even Lana has a few songs that I think have "crappy melodies", 95% of fans could say that about their favourite artists, 99% if they were honest with themself. The whole point in this production is that it's a pitch-song. An artist can take it and do what they want with it.
The production on this piece is amazing and classically theatrical. If it wasn't good, I wouldn't have uploaded it. In-fact I would have privated this if people weren't genuinely enjoying it, but they are. And I know for a fact the vast majority aren't bots, because I never paid for bots and one user with 50k subs has even asked if they can use the song in their video. If any account looks like a bot account, it's yours.

@@DarthMadV Well I'm not a musician so I don't know what it is but I know that I have come back to listen numerous times since posting this comment (and I posted it a month ago) but something about the lyrics just draws you in. Especially the start, it tells you a story of a woman's past. Though it isn't explicitly mentioned, the song sings as an old woman, speaking about her prime when she was at her most dazzling, beautiful, flirty and young.

@@TamaraKane Nobody owns the sound of a voice because many people (including singers and rappers) can sound like each-other.. either purposefully or not. Thus, I don’t believe in “stealing” voices. You can steal melodies and riffs, but not voices…. Just like you can’t steal the sound of a guitar. A voice is just another instrument. And, this voice may sound like Lana, but not exactly. Ai wouldn’t compare to Lana’s real voice singing this song.
This sort of production is like a draft you can pitch through. Ideally a producer and song writer with connections would make something like this, and then pitch it to whom they wrote it for to see if they like/want it. Say Lana took this song, she would sing over it and improve it in her own way. And since i wrote it for her to sing (in my dreams), it only makes sense the voice sounds similar to hers.
Overall, at this point in time, Ai vocals are limited compared to non-ai singers. They can be glitchy and usually transform over the song.
All I know is that I’m making music i think sounds good, for fun and for others to enjoy, and these new tools are helping me realise that I’m good at writing and composing songs. That I’ve been held back by not having access to the people I needed to help bring my songs to life, in real life. People can try to demonise such music because Ai is involved in sound generation, but that’s usually because they don’t really understand the work that goes into creating a high quality song involving Ai, that can pass as authentic. Creating music with Ai is the future and musicians are going to be using it for inspiration whether they admit it or not. Including Hollywood producers and artists. Even-so, not everybody is going to be able to make good music with Ai, because it’s hard and very time demanding depending on your goal. BUT it opens doors for creatives to make the music that they wanna hear, but isn’t being delivered. The only time I think it’s not okay to use Ai in the production/creation of music, is for writing lyrics.

As a hardcore fan of Lana Del Rey, I met her at a Father John Misty concert in Glasgow, Scotland. She was absolutely adorable-radiant smile, captivating presence, and effortlessly charming. Father John Misty, aka Josh Tillman, is a huge name in the true indie music scene, so I was dying to know who this gorgeous woman in a yellow dress was, asking me for a lighter and thanking me with a kiss on the cheek.
After the break, she went up on stage (remember: Glasgow, good vibes, lots of alcohol, pretty affordable) and sang with him. I was completely blown away by their chemistry and also by this woman, who I found out was Lana Del Rey, lol. They ended their set with "Let the Light In." When I got my train back to Edinburgh, I immediately started looking up this adorable gem online, and saw she had just released a new album. I put it on Spotify and listened to it once, twice, three times (pun intended). It was a masterpiece with witty lyrics, lots of poetry references, and VERY high musical standards. I checked out my favorite critics and found out she was an indie-turned-mainstream star.
All of this to say that I used to write for a very popular indie rock magazine. I can’t really play anything, but I know my stuff. Lana has a LOT of country/Americana influences in all of her albums. She writes extremely well and is very bold, but she’s also done an excellent job with her branding. Here’s how I think "Lasso" will be:
She is heavily influenced by figures that are country or have a heavy element of country music: Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Elliott Smith. So, we can expect a lot of dark-themed songs-some heavier and deeper, some just whispered. I’m betting the lyrics on this album will be unbelievably good, though she might opt to not overdo it and make it a little (very little) catchier than usual.
Does country music remind you of whisky and broken hearts? Well, expect that-a lot. I also believe the lyrics will be less complex, the songs shorter, blunt, and they will have some shoegazing touches, like Mojave 3/Neil Halstead/Slowdive. I think there will be one or two very emotionally charged songs with some Beach House vibes (she already does that a lot).
She will sing more and leave the “country thing” always in the background. There’s probably going to be a lot of instrumental rawness. There will be one big, striking hit. The album will be cherished by both the public and critics alike, and it will be very successful. I don’t think she will get as many good reviews as "Norman F***ing Rockwell," "BB," or "Chemtrails Over the Country Club" did, because for some reason the last two are quite underrated by fans. She will always be gorgeous with a lovely hat and sequin boots, which I don’t really like, but they look perfect on her!
In my opinion, if "Lasso" were released now, it would sound more or less like this:
1. **Yosemite** - Classic country storytelling, perfect intro.
2. **Wild at Heart** - Country from start to finish, amazing twangy guitar riffs.
3. **Change** - Gorgeous ballad with simple instrumentals that feels like legends like Bob Dylan.
4. **Love Song** - Catchy, raw, emotional.
5. **Bartender** - Incredible narrative lyrics and mellow acoustic guitar, channels a country barroom ballad.
6. **How to Disappear** - Somber mood and acoustic arrangement, like a cheesy country ballad.
7. **The Greatest** - This would be the first hit; it’s simple, catchy, nostalgic with amazing lyrics.
8. **Dark But Just a Game** - Introspective, with a country-folk feel.
9. **Beautiful People Beautiful Problems** - A blend of a silly pop song with true country music magic.
10. **Tomorrow Never Came** - An instant classic with a timeless feel and strong country elements in its acoustic melody. This would be the second hit.
11. **Blue Jeans** - The storytelling and full Americana imagery in this song are undeniable.
12. **Old Money** - Another ballad filled with nostalgia, plus orchestral elements because it’s LANA DEL REY, darling, haha.
13. **Salvatore** - Lyrics and slightly twangy instrumentation give it a country flair.
14. **In My Feelings** - Straightforward, emotional delivery with acoustic elements for an instant classic.
15. **Cinnamon Girl** - Addictive, deep, acoustic-driven, and delicious.

Thank you for your kind words. If i kept this song for me, then nobody would have heard it and I totally wrote it with Lana in mind, for her, and her fans. Something I myself would listen to. Nothing would satisfy me more than if she sang it for real. That is just a distant dream. Even so, I did it for fun and as a little assessment for myself to see if I could make something that passes as authentic. Something people like enough to come back to, even If it's just one person. I made a mash-up video in the past and I recognised a guy had come back to it multiple times leaving nice comments and that is an amazing feeling, having someone like what I made. @@TamaraKane That's something that people who don't understand the technology say. I mean, you may know how to use it... it's not hard to generate audio with Ai, that's not the talent. That is not truly understanding how to use the tool to produce consumable art. No music Ai generates on it's own is good, unless it's just instruments. All good music that Ai had a part in making, was made because of a creative human knowing how to write/make good music and be the conductor of that Ai.
There's loads of crappy man-made music out there because being able to record and produce music first and foremost, comes with privilege, and luck. Not always talent.
The talent usually comes after luck.. and even nepotism. Many people who are actually good at creating music don't have access to the resources they need in order to create that music. Ai helps fill that gap. At the end of the process, the only thing that matters is if the creator is satisfied with what they made, and if the song fulfilled it's purpose such as communicating the thoughts and feelings of the writer to the listener. After those things, depending on your goal, then you can ask is the song GOOD? Because it WILL represent your talent. Not all creators using Ai, are using it at an equal level of talent.

Also, I labeled this a Lana song, because it’s a pitch song designed for her AND because if I didn’t, nobody would have seen it and I knew it deserved to be heard. If you don’t learn how to work the algorithm, videos like this get buried and nobody hears them. I wanted to see if it could pass as a Lana song and if fans liked it. It’s part of the learning process for me and testing the limits of the tools I use.

Its ok if this is ai because is actually an intelligent result from a mind, wheter is real or not. The references of female country artists the lyrics mention are something Lana could totally love. Specially Emmylou Harris. Its a vibe, everything about it. I don't see it soulles, still misses Lana's secret ingridient, but its a good base for her to build up something personal.
