- Hey, Flower Guy here! I believe it’s entirely true to say that $100 an hour cutting flowers is possible. However, it’s much harder than it looks. It takes lots of time and dedication to even succeed at selling one flower. A lot of people can start very quickly and Flower Farming and come to realize that they don’t have the infrastructure to keep going. This season we have faced a lot of heart aches, diseases, and loss. It is now middle of July and we’re just now seeing things turn around for us this year. I’m about to show you the good bad and ugly when it comes to being a flower farmer. It is not always about how much we can meet, but how much we can learn. I know one thing that’s true. If you don’t correct your mistakes as you learn them in flower farming they just get worse over time because you’re trying to scale the volume! We have went thousands of dollars in the hole alone this year and haven’t seen one dollar to break even yet. The struggle is real. Hey, and if you’re interested in partnering with us we would be glad to hear from you and see your support. Glad too you are continuing with your flower business. Don’t give up. Love watching you. Has been raining raining raining. With thunder and lighting storms in Charlotte.

Your lovely red ball is Cornel and the orange (bronze) coloured ball is Cornel Bronze. Love the Cornel series
I'm not a flower farmer, but I sure love looking at them and learning what goes into growing and selling them. Thanks for sharing it all with us.
You are not a quitter that’s for sure! Enjoyed your spirit, enthusiasm and hard work. Good luck😻
Seniors hope is beautiful ❤️ first time I'm seeing it❤❤
Didn't catch this live, but love the greenhouse. Keep up the hard work, it pays off
I love your dedication!!! Keep it up!!!
Heay don’t recall your name, but hoping that you get this. You need to be aware of Nichole at Flower Hill Farm, utube handle. Her husband’s nsme is brad Pitt, not THE Brad Pitt, but that’s memorable nonetheless.
Both you and her are very personable people sharing your lives and flowrr farms. She only JUST announced her intention to purchase the local nursery where they’re live. Could be most helpful for you to connect and follow her.
I am in the deep south, drought conditions here. Dahlias are not rotting. Wishing you all the best. 😊🌻🌺🌸🌹💐🕊🦋🙏
Thank you very much!
That's awesome
Great video… thank you for sharing
Man, I missed your live. I was working my shift. But, anyway I will catch the next one. Great video, you keep it real. 💯 Keep moving forward, I am rooting for you. Hey best regards to the wife and kids too.
Awe haven’t had rain for more than 20 yrs, stressed trees plants gardens. This year it’s gone back to my childhood weather cooler breezy and plenty of rain in good intervals! I’m shocked and amazed ! Love it as I installed new cut flower rows this year! I’m in Northern Maine on the border with Canada, zone 3. I’m a senior and my name is Hope , does that count?
Thank you for the teachable moments!
Hot drought conditions last week it was in the 100s all week. Next weeks projected to be the same between 90-100 degrees.
Enjoyed the video, great info and beautiful blooms.
Your doing good. Keep up the good flowers.
Cornel is red and Cornel Bronze is copper (orangey). :)
Ontario, Canada here. It's hot. We need rain, badly. Temps are seasonal, but we haven't had a good, long rain in weeks.
Drought and heavy winds here in Northern Germany.
I am Zone 9b.We are 107 degrees and windy. Its super miserable.I have been watering my Dahlias daily.Hoping it's not too much.Finger crossed they do alright.
80s here in NH. Very dry; need rain badly. I raise Nigerian Dwarf goats; those trimmers work great in the garden. Thomas Edison
Get some rubbing alcohol and some cotton balls for your fingers and pruners to keep the fungus spores from spreading by your harvesting.
Too late now. I have learned so much from this year of cutting flowers.
Great content!
Zone 9a (Houston), oppressively hot and humid with very little rain all June and so far in July. I water via drip irrigation, but my zinnias have needed supplemental watering.
For the plants with the troubles.. Use hydrogen peroxide. Stuff you would use for wounds. Make a mix with that water jug, take 1/4cup peroxide, fill the rest with water. Give them deep drinks once a week for a couple weeks. Water as regular.
You’re welcome. 🙏🏻🌱🌺
Hot, high humidity and not much rain.
Zone 3a in Alberta. A lot of rain and cool.
Do you sell to next door states like Maryland. These flower shops needs some variety to spice things up.
We could if they needed quite a bit !
Hot and dry in Salamanca NY … having to water and i normally dont need to for anything in the ground.
Just wondering why you are taking all the foliage off of the stems?
Where do you buy your tubers.
I love watching you you kind of remind me of my grandson but I have a question are you raising those dahlias in a plastic container plastic bag or what I have a 13x27 greenhouse and I am curious about the dahlias I'm wondering if I could put those in my greenhouse because it has a gravel floor and I don't want to dig it up so that's why I'm asking about the pots or whatever that is you have planted those in
They are plastic grow bags
I understand dahlias don't like wet feet but what if the buds/heads are drooping - is it ok to water them or best to be moderate? Tips? Also, $2.50 for florists or wholesale?
Florist
My question is yes you can pick that many but will planting and all the other work what do you think your hourly rate would be?
Well, last year this year have differed for sure
Pray for rain...
i think it is a Thomas Edison, I'm growing it this year
Do you mean Cornel Bronze?
I'm feeling seasick from the video quality.
I’m sorry
Do not do fakebook. Are you on any other platforms? Wish you were...
