      My sister used to babysit George's Ex in Oakmont-very hippy granola household-had a chance to be an extra in DOTD-I was a kid that thought he was gonna be an Astronaut:(-maybe in the next life-Romero is a Pittsburgh original like Andy Warhol-Heaven Bless&Rest His Soul:)

      Take good care of your memories,Grant,we can't relive them-I really liked Return of The Living Dead-Clu Galager(right spelling?)was hilarious in that-I'm sure this cat will do a tribute-retrospective as he did for Bill Paxton-Bill Paxton still hurts,but so does River Phoenix man-we've lost to many damn good people:(

    Very nice tribute to the man, the myth, the legend. I came into his films very late and think that he was a really great filmmaker and I admire his work. Thank you for the video.

    R.I.P. George A. Romero, the godfather of zombies. I liked Night of the Living alright, but I too respect that it's a classic and because of his films, we wouldn't get zombie films of today, because of him. Another master of horror and suspense has gone, like Wes Craven. Horror fans are gonna miss a great icon.

    Been stopping by this channel for many years. Sucks George died. Back in the late 80s and 90s I used to wear out my VHS copies of Night/Dawn/Day of the Dead watching them with friends or my brother. When DVDs came along they were some of the earliest DVDs I remember buying. Those movies spawned 100s of hours of conversations about "what if that happened to us?" with people most of my life. As a film maker myself I've envied the Director. RIP George Romero.

    Thank you Mr. Romero. Thanks for the nightmares as a kid. Thanks for creating the flesh eating zombie! RIP to the masters of horror!

    I haven't been hit this hard by a director's death since Wes Craven. It sucks that he has passed away, but what sucks just as much to me? Is that there is no one in the horror genre today that can take his place or carry the mantle. Absolutely no one.
    That's why these losses of legendary horror directors like Craven and now Romero hurt so much. Unlike in the past? There is no one to pick up where they left off. There is no next Romero or Craven. And that's both sad and scary.
    Rest In Peace George. Thanks for the Creepshows.

  • @sfighter0085
    @sfighter0085 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great tribute. Very heartfelt and honest. I just got the news on ComicBookMovie.com, and I was shocked. The first George A. Romero movie I was as a kid was the original "Night of the Living Dead". And, even though your not a fan of it, I love that movie. As time went on I saw the likes of "Dawn of the Dead", "Day of the Dead", "Land of the Dead", "Diary of the Dead", "Survival of the Dead", and "Creepshow". All (except for the sixth "Dead" movie) of which I loved. I haven't had the chance to check out "Monkey Shines"nor "Martin". Did catch "Bruiser" on "Fearnet" on demand, don't really remember much of it. He really had a talent for the genre, much like Wes Craven did (even though I've heard horror was never Craven's intention). I should give the likes of "Monkey Shines", "Martin", and "The Dark Half" a sit through.
    R.I.P. Mr. George A. Romero, thanks for the Horror and Terror you brought to the screen. :(

    had no idea until I seen your video! That really sucks RIP Mr. Romero the Stan Lee of Horror films so underrated mostly cause he was a hippie he didn't play the Hollywood game and didn't thinks he's way.... The biggest injustice would be all the people who didn't realize what he made would bleed into all of pop culture (The Land of the Dead video game itself was pretty much a tech demo how to do a FPS with Zombies a few years later Valve looked at that game and created Left 4 Dead (which is Land of the Dead done proper) Dead Rising was a complete rip-off of Dawn of the Dead (Capcom just didn't want to pay for the license and skated around it with a Disclaimer on the box art) Then you have all types of tv series that were inspired by Romero's Dead Series (Plus he brought back the modern Anthology series with Tales from the Darkside which is one of the best horror anthology series on tv...... Sad but, that's life at least he left behind some amazing game changing work George A. Romero one of a kind he's legacy will live on forever

    My first exposure to Romero was in 2004 when I watched Night of the Living Dead( the original) for the first time at my friend's house. I enjoyed the movie, but it was intended to be a joke since we did commentary over it as we watched it. Making fun of the corny news reporter scenes. Dawn of the Dead is a great movie.. But I feel Day of the Dead was Romero perfecting how zombies should be and act like.
