Dinghy is an Avon Redstart (newest style) 8' long x 45# including slat floor & motor mount. Made of extremely durable Hypalon fabric good for 20+ years. Row extremely well - I often row 2 to 4 miles for fun and exercise. I have used these dinghys for 25 years landing on Pacific NW barnacle covered beaches without a single hole. Bad news is they have not been available for past 12 years. Most think you need a ridged transom and weak pinned oars which don't row well. Dinghy will plane about 6 knots with one person and 2~2.5 hp motor. The Avon Redcrest is made the same only slightly larger with more carrying capacity but doesn't row as well. My comments apply to the last version of the Redstart with bobbed bow not pointed.
Love to learn more about your boat. Are you in the San Juans? We are part time on Friday Harbor. We'll be up in April and in the summer. If you're ever there I'd love to see your boat. We are down to the Rossi or a C-Dory 25. Really wish I could afford a Targa 27.2 but not there yet. Very much inserted in the Rossi and have been talking to Kevin at the dealer back east. Wish they had a dealer in the PacWest. Message me if there is any chance of getting to take a look, I'll buy lunch:-)

On mine 7.5- 8 knots is best fuel consumption. She will do 30 knots. Twin 115 Yamaha's. It would depend on what you're running???
