I stumbled upon Dosan Park during a recent visit to Korea (the rest of my party wanted to go shopping at Starfield; I was more interested in sightseeing in the area, so I checked out Dosan Park and Seonjeongneung). I didn’t understand most of what I saw until I made it back to the States, but now that I’ve had a chance to learn a little more about him, I’m very glad that I was able to spend some time at his memorial park in Seoul. I will definitely be on the lookout for some of the landmarks dedicated to him here in California!
I am Dosan's grandson Philip Cuddy. My mother is Susan Ahn Cuddy. It's a great tribute to Dosan. However, the information about Pachappa, Riverside and Kungminhoe is wrong. The first Korean community in San Francisco is completely left out. History is not history unless it's the truth. Unlike, Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dosan had a military action plan and organized the Independence Army. It's great to honor Dosan. He would prefer you told the truth.
