Sounds like you have an RC timer circuit going (as in resistor capacitor not remote controlled). Don't quite know without the schematic but that is what I would check for first.

No you don't. The antenna already has that built in. Wiring or Install is key here. If I had seen this video long ago, I would have told him what I did in part one. I did forget to mention that if he was confident enough to open the antenna , to just reverse the to wires going two the motor of the antenna. So the OFF state of the antenna will be Extended and the ON state will be Retracted. "@Mike and Lauren Um but thats all you need, is an on off switch. The antenna does the reversing for you. The switch V+ and V- Input should be coming from your power source. This powers the switch electronics. The V- ground connects straight threw the ground on the circuit board and straight to the V- output. The V+ input also goes threw a switch(relay) and to the V+ Output. So the Black wire of the antenna should go to the Negative of the power source, The Red to the Positive of the power source and the Green to the V+ Output of the Ambient Light Switch. Now here is where I think you have problems. You are using the antenna ON mode to close the door when you should be using the antenna OFF mode to pull close the door. What you should have done is make your door 4 to 6 inches taller than the actual opening. Mount the antenna within that distance and attach the antenna to door in that area too. I hope this makes sense. When the Ambient Light Switch turns on the power gets sent thru the green wire and the antenna extends pushing the door open. Switch turns off and the antenna retracts and pulls the door closed." last thing. I would not install this with the trigger wire (Green Wire) being on all night. It takes up power from the battery while it is not getting charged. Best to use power during the day so that energy being used is being replaced at the same time.

It's a power radio antenna from a car.
Don't Insult Linear Actuators.
You need a double pole double throw relay.
