    1 of the best vids yet on this subject . There is one other because zip ties were used to keep that cable from poping out again but as far as the over all fix man this was quick to the point better than a Mr. Professional , you had 20 minuets to get the hatch open before the expedition exploded . Simpy well explained thankyou .

    Love how you said, "guys". My daughter watched this and sent it to me. She does all the easier work on "the beast" as we call her 4 wheel drive monster. Thanks for being there so that guys and even women can fix their own vehicles.

    Excellent! My latch works fine, but I want to make a way to open the hatch from the inside, for when I sleep in the back and want to exit that way. I did that hack in my old Tahoe, I just rigged a length of small diameter paracord from the latch mechanism to a hole in the carpeted panel. Now I know how to get the trim panel off. Many thanks!

    Great video! Any idea why my running boards nd interior lights come on when engine off. If I open and close the hatch window they go off for a bit but come back on again 99 expedition

    My tailgate opens , locks unlocks . but the window hatch won’t open . Also passenger window will only roll down if the drivers door is open . Odd !! Help ! I’d appreciate any advice. I absolutely love this truck . 2000 expedition. Eddie Bauer.

      There are two small cables inside the rear hatch. One operates opening the door and the other cable opens the glass. You can find both cables available on Amazon

      Window only rolling down is your driver's door wiring harness. It is shorting somewhere within the harness. Go to the junkyard and get a new one. The connector is inside the body of the car at the hinges. There is a large rubber wire loom at this location on the car's body. Remove that, and you will see where the wiring harness connects/disconnects. Reroute all of the cables and it should work. I had to do this for my expy, had issues with door unlock/lock as well as speaker not working unless I opened the door. Hope this helps!

      I just fixed my door latch but the window latch is also broken. From what I could access I cannot repair the cable or even replace it because the latching mechanism is riveted together and there’s no way to call existing cable out let alone reinstall. Has anyone else had luck with this?

    I wonder if one could super glue the piece that separated itself

    • @ThaRyano
      @ThaRyano  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could. I haven’t tried but I’m pretty sure it would just break again. Might as well replace it while you have it all apart. Stay tuned I will have an update video on this and another part that works better! Thanks for watching 😎

    • @ThaRyano
      @ThaRyano  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not yet, it still works. I'm sure it will break as soon as I need it lol

    • @vatcheohanian2565

      I repaired both door locks using aluminum ends. I didn't change the cables, just the ends. On the glass window I wasn't able to remove the cable from the lock so I slid one of the aluminum ends through and it worked. It wasn't easy. I had to fight a little bit. Again thank you for your video. It helped.

    • @ThaRyano
      @ThaRyano  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I saw the aluminum cable ends on Amazon also, I thought about trying them but decided not to. Let me know how long they last! That was the only thing that kept me from buying just the ends.

    • @vatcheohanian2565
      @vatcheohanian2565 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ThaRyano I don't expect them to ever break. They are very sturdy. They don't go brittle overtime as did the rubber ones from Ford.
