- Kerrang! Radio's Loz Guest caught up with Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley to talk about their new album '13 Voices', his recovery, writing songs sober and the response from fans at their comeback live shows.
From one person in recovery to another...Keep it up Deryck! Seriously man, I'm also a musician so if we lost you from the music world I'd go insane. You got our love and support, and in return you give us some of the most bad-ass, fucking epic music that's out there. Words cannot express how much it has helped me out over the years. I am 46. I had been aware of sum41 since they appeared on the scene way back. But, as with loads of other bands, they were just names and not much else.......... I discovered them last year at the age of 45......don't need to be young

I Just finished detox from alcohol. Had 4 seizures , which is nothing compared to what he endured, but this man and what he went through and 13 voices are what keep me going. If Bizzy D can do I can do it.

He does interviews like a solo artist ? I love the band and his songs but it always feels odd when he seems to take all the credit for everything....
Well he's begin being sort of the main writer, so he does write most of them, and they're personal to him. But I don't think he takes credits for the drums and all the guitars
