Ben_ Slashes It was ok but really ripped off of AFI... So did 13 voices in a few songs. They need to get it together and make another album comperable to Chuck.
ChopChan and Chuck ripped off Linkin park and Metallica. Chuck has 3-4 Great songs.the rest is okay or medicore. for me in SBM every Song is Great.
Ben_ Slashes Chuck was original and punk rock. I didnt hear a bit of metalica in that wtf?? Every song was incredible on chuck because it told a story in each song about the worlds wars and protests. Deryck actually sung right from the heart in Chuck too. Now he sounds like he is talking in his songs and barely can scream. The only song that sounded like Metalica was The bitter end in the solo LMAO. Please know what youre talking about before you argue with me.

I loved chuck. thought it was a perfect mix and made them sound way more mature. was very disappointed when underclass hero came out after that.
I loved Underclass Hero, but it took a lot of getting used to because it was so different from Chuck, and also from Infected. It was sonically out of place so no-one could have really expected it.
Once you get used to it though, the songs are really good and it's a great album--it really is.
I feel that Underclass Hero was a needed change of style at the time. Thanks to UH, we now have a very sonically diverse catalogue of Sum 41 songs, and within the greater picture of the discography, I appreciate UH - even though it is not my favorite album of theirs. And the experimentation they did in UH is apparent; we got SBM right afterwards!

Since someone took this personally, even though Dave meant it (and not in a destructive way) i'll give my 5 cents here.
It's not really that bad but it is an observation. It is full of metal- like sounds, it IS influenced by Metallica, more than "Does this look Infected?" It has acoustic (Pieces). Yes it is Sum 41 but it was a breaking point for Dave who basically from what we all know now did not want Sums to become so serious just to prove themselves real in the industry, they tried to as DTLI was, and honestly i don't think it was meant for him, he and Deryck argued and Dave wanted to leave since about 2003. Who cares if the industry thinks they are a bunch of lil shits or punk 'pops', this almost ruined them since they wanted to stay making music, but as you can see they clashed over this stupid shit. That's what i make out of this anyway; So they made screaming bloody murder, when Dave left. And now together they proved themselves a rock band, however not without reason and loss, Deryck lost his life, seriously, fuck the music industry, yeah its all cool when you come in, but when it doesn't take you seriously and asks you to sacrifice your real needs and feelings, you can see what happens; desolation and shit. I am not religious at all, it is simply a real observation. No amount of denial or breakdowns can change this, this is why Deryck did this i believe; and he also IS a real band, but everyone wants them to remain who they want to be. So whoever doesn't accept them since they reunited with 13 voices, bugger off ;P Their old sound is gone because they lost bonds with the producers who used to like them, but for what they seemed; not for who they were. So there you go. We all have to leave the past behind at some point, this is real shit.

Chuck was my favourite all round album then SBM now i just love the Sums fully no matter what album.

I've been a fan of them since I was 10, but I can honestly say, that I think 13 voices is their weakest album.
Especially after Screaming Bloody Murder, which I think was their best and most mature album.
Been a fan since 2001 and I think their worst album is bloody murder and then this new one.
revdavid11 i agree that SBM was there best Album, but 13 Voices is still Pretty Good. its atleast there 2# or 3# best Album in my opinion^^
