  • I have been using the Nodal Ninja 6 panoramic 360 tripod head for the last four months, and it is quite possibly the most important piece of equipment (apart from my camera of course) that I own!! Here is a video that will show you how it works, and some of the features that are included.
    You can find out more about my 360 photography training course here :- nickpowellphot...

    Wow, what a great video that was - I am ultra new to 360 photography and you sir are not only a pleasure to listen to, but you covered tons and tons of areas around this particular item. I'm sold. I'll be buying one of these and am off to see your course. Subscribed!

      @@NickPowellPhotography - Thanks Nick. In fact, I went and straight bought one of these, along one of those Levellers and a copy of PTGUi Pro :)
      Can you advise, should I also purchase some kind of Arca Clamp or do you connect your camera directly to the NN6? Mine's a Sony A7R IV. Would appreciate your advice Nick please :)

    • @NickPowellPhotography
      @NickPowellPhotography  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can screw the A7Riv straight onto the NN6. 👍

    I just bought this and found your video. It helped me set it up for the first time and use it. I have a 14-30 F 4 mm Nikon Z lens that goes with my Nikon Z6. When I position it on the slider and find the no-parallax point, there is no room for the lens hood to be on the lens without using the lens away from the slider. Is this happening because I got something wrong along the way? I planned on using it outdoors quite a bit and would like to be able to use the lens hood.

    Dont worry about being leveled while shooting. You can use PTGui to adjust your level.

    • @NickPowellPhotography
      @NickPowellPhotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      But that just creates more work, it's always better to get as much right in camera as possible.

    Hey nick. I am going to start shooting 360 with my Sony a74. I have a Sony 12-24 lens I use for Real estate. Would you recommend that or should I go with a fisheye like the ttartisian 7.5. Thanks. Really learning a lot from your 3dVista course.

      Hi There, really pleased to hear that you are liking the course. I use the Samyang 12mm f2.8 fisheye, absolutely amazing lens.

    Didn't know the nadir trick. I was taking 2 photos with the arm on each side. I only ended up with the NN6 assembly. small price to pay.

      Depends what focal length you are shooting at. There are calculators online if you search for 360 panoramic shot calculator

    Incredible! I'm from Brazil and I'm studying about it, here it's hard to find this equipment, could you tell me the name of the ones you use in the video? As well as the tripod that seems to me to be of very high quality.
    I thank you immensely!

    Great video. Do you have any guides on lighting indoor 360 photos? Do you ever use flash in low light locations?

    • @NickPowellPhotography
      @NickPowellPhotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, thanks very much. No I never use any artificial light. I tried doing a shoot with flash, but for the amount of post processing required, I would have to double my prices.

    Can you still do this with a fluid head attached to the tripod? Or do you have to use the ez leveller?

    • @NickPowellPhotography
      @NickPowellPhotography  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really, because fluid heads are generally large and they will take up a large area of your nadir.

      @@NickPowellPhotography thanks for the quick response. I’ve been using it for panorámica with a 35mm and a 50mm . I wanted to try my hand at 360 . I’ll look up that lens. Maybe you can do a ptgui overview video, just a thought, thanks again.

    Excellent video. The only thing I'm not clear on is the first piece of equipment that you called the Easy Leveling Base. Is that the same thing as the RD10 Rotator listed in the title? I'm looking at B&H Photo at the "Nodal Ninja Advanced Rotator RD10 Single Plunger" and it looks different than what you are using. Thanks.

    • @NickPowellPhotography

    Hi Nick, thank you for your thorough tutorial! One question, if my tripod is level, my EZ Leveler II's bubble is level, why when I turn 90 degree, the EZ bubble is off? Do you re-level every time? Thanks!!

    • @NickPowellPhotography
      @NickPowellPhotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I just level for the first shot and it's normally fine. However I do sometimes have to do a few very light adjustments in PTGui.

      The calculation I use is to keep it about 20% overlap. Therefore on my setup it works for me Two Rows (6 shots at 60 degrees, 45 degrees up and 45 degrees down)
