I have the hellraiser 8 string and always felt the emgs had more mud sound to them. I bought the reaper 7 multiscale last year and it finally comes in april 20th, so i look forward to the different pickups. How do you feel about the diamond decimators in the reaper?
First of all, fantastic name that you have for yourself. As for the pickups, I really like the decimators, I need to run them in my DAW more to fully test, but I like the clean tones and the lead tones I get. I'm not much of a "chug" expert yet, but hoping to get there as well. I feel like I understand what you mean by some muddiness in the Hellraiser. I have been playing with a group recently and I've had a tricky time cutting through with my Hellraiser, but I think I need to dial in my Pod Go a bit more as well. I have actually toyed with swapping those EMGs for the Tim Henson Signature Fishmans, but we'll see about that!
