Yes it is a thing, also why are you cringing it’s good practice for anyone who wants to voice act and it’s easy to start there then in an actual professional project. I don’t know what you expected when you were clicking a video on the Internet and not reading the actual comics online Edit: Next time don’t click on a video expecting just a comic when it clearly says dub in the title, you shouldn’t even be doing that in the first place because it seems like you are. Most artists are not posting full length videos of their comics so it’s probably being used without permission and it’s worse when the artist isn’t even credited
It really depends on the channel you go to. There are some that have multiple voice actors, music, and sound effects While others have one guy voicing a man, a girl, a child, and that's it.
