(2010 Forester X-Premium) I have replaced every exterior light on the car with LED's and added a 34" 28,000lm lightbar on a 3" stainless steel bullbar as well as added a 180° aux. 4,000lm backup light mounted on a 6" drop hitch mounted upside down. - I too ran into the issue of the DRL but decided on an easier fix, I simply drive with my low beams on. Yes all the normal lights are on when I drive but I don't care as the vehicle is easier to see and most of the LED's have a 30-50,000 MTBF. Make sure you use a dielectric grease (silicone grease is about the same) in the light connections to ease installation and prevent corrosion. I do a lot of night time driving (in deer infested areas) so with all forward lights on I have nearly 60,000lm to light up the road. Since I do have the lights I turn off the lightbar/high beams if there is a car less than 1/4 mile in front of me, if it is oncoming then it's a 1/2 mile.
The majority of the time I'm driving lights on but on sunny days the interior lights are too dim too see with the lights on. I could adjust the dimmer but don't feel like having to adjust it back and forth all the time
My UK 2010 has a xenon factory headlight option. They are very good!
Would this work for a 2018 2.5, I've been trying to figure out how to do fogs as drls or independently from everything else with no luck, help!

Did you have to tapand run a power wire from the driver side to drl harness
No, just the passengers side, the drivers side receives power from the passengers side
