The real fact is that this IL114 must replace all older models to ensure passenger comfort and safety with a new airframe, and I`m sure it will perform correctly between those villages and eastern medium cities across Russian territory. The jet engine Russian immediately need is to get down it`s fuel burning and the CO2 emissions will be lower because more economical operation. We`d like to see the model performing in high altitude cities, between mountain ranges, like here in Colombia, such as Manizales La Nubia Airport or the challenging Antonio Nariño Airport, near to the southern city called Pasto; they`re located above 7.000 feet above sea level and very short runways, no longer than 5.000 feet to play with.

Yes, the IL-114-300 can compete with the westerns regional planes, the fact that it has a low wing makes it more resiliant to take-offs and landings with strong lateral winds (cross winds), which is important in certain regions where it is impossible to build runways with prevailing winds like small islands for exemple. I would suggest that the aircraft be equipped a with twin counter-rotating propellers in the same manner as the TU-95 and AN-22. In the event of an engine failure, it has happened the pilot makes a mistake in the direction in which the propeller of the working engine rotates, with catastrophic consequences. The gear system for contra-rotating propelers is not so complicated to build and mantein but also improves performance in take-off and cruise speed something between from 10 to 20% due to the fact one propeller would cancel out the torque of the other propeller. No torque problem aliviates pilot workload. QUESTION: Does the IL-114-300 have "fly by wire" commands? It would be a game changer if it has "fly by wire" what ill make very easy to implement improvements by software like automatic engine management in case one engine fails, the softwre adjust to the convenient power the good engine (its very common in engine failure pilots puts down the good engine).

It might be for the same reason the west manufactures ATR-72 or EMB-120 and Bombardier Q-400, there are many niches that have to be filled regardless of the West estimated aircraft needs.... China would be soon telling the West which aircraft are needed regardless of western estimates....

Even the Chinese have copied the Dash8-400 but PWC has refused to give them engines. Russia had an agreement with DeHavilland since 2014 for 100 Q400 but sanctions started.....
Aircraft shape is pretty standard for a particular class of aircraft, doesn't make one a replica of the other. It is determined by principles of physics, if you want them to shape their aircraft like horse to satisfy your demands about not having been replicated, you will be waiting a long time, and in vain.
Forget about it - it will never be success due to many things, from total lost of expertise and knowledge to missing engines ( tw7 is used due to nothing else is available) and general construction is more than 40 years old...

Про полную потерю опыта ты загнул - РФ по прежнему входит в очень тесный клуб стран, способных выпускать всё для самостоятельной сборки самолетов. Да, ТВ7 взят не от хорошей жизни, но судя по публикациям в технических пабликах ближайшие 5 лет будут прорывными, и это отлично! Начали выпускать двигатели ВК-1600, на подходе ВК-2400. Кроме этого, на старте стоит серия двигателей ПД. Про конструкцию - это классический планер, и от средненького по характеристикам гражданского лайнера требуется немного - летать и быть надёжным.

To me city pairs to 800 air miles should be turbo -prop service. Should be twin engine design and 4 engine for high passenger routes.
The engine needs to be redesigned with new technologies as of now they can use it but substantially they should work on updated one
