    When my grandparents had a fuel tank. When the delivery was coming he would set the "treatment" next to the tank. And the driver would pour it in prior to unloading. The driver actually suggested this. Saying that there would be a better mix with how fast he fills the tank.

      So what I'm taking from that is it's better to buy better diesel to begin with than try and add stuff to it yourself?

  • @detroitdieselpower1
    @detroitdieselpower1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    We’ve been using Archoil AR6200 for about 7 years now. With these new Diesel engines and the use of ultra low sulfur fuel, there’s very little lubricity to the fuel and this will lead to premature wear and failure. I’m happy with this product and there has been a little improvement in fuel economy but more so with cold starting and less soot. Changing our engine oil over to Rotella T-6 has also shown a big difference in less soot and longer oil life. You can’t just put plane old 15w40 in these new engines. It will cause premature failure.
    Keep up the good work! Jesus is Lord!

    Can always use more lubricity and raising the cetane helps the fuel combust cleaner especially in the winter. It also prevents gelling but I don't think in PA we get cold enough usually to worry about that. The biggest thing is water, it will make so it doesn't sit at the bottom of the tank. It will get mixed in and and eventually burned away. Ask the fuel vendor you buy from for a report on the diesel fuel. It should be tested before they load it.

    • @patricka4609
      @patricka4609 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The terminals that I've loaded fuel at all provide daily reports on fuel condition. Just ask your fuel dealer and you should have it in no time. If you are buying dyed dsl. fuel (not straight fuel oil) the additive package is injected at the terminal when the product is loaded. And yes, a small tube of water detection paste is a good thing to have.

    I used to deliver diesel and gasoline to farms and I see that there is no cover on your gauge. That will let the rain in. The next time you want to put an additive in the tank, wait until you get a delivery to mix it up well. What you did will not really mix it up. I like your videos and believe it or not so does my wife.

    When I ran a Diesel PU I used Lucas fuel treatment. Now I run a gas engine PU and also use the same Lucas Fuel treatment for fuel. Also, use The Lucas for engine oil. I did a long drive into the middle of Houston today for dimension steel from a large retailer that has great prices. I needed to add some motor oil and included a cup full of the Lucas oil treatment. The engine runs great in and back from Houston. More than 100 miles one way. I was unable to read the label on your five-gallon bucket...you might be using that brand. Your also a concrete worker... or walker..yea... And the double disk... great to hear a double disk pulled through the soil. Hope your silo gets fixed... CHEERS!

  • @DHESS007
    @DHESS007 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    A diesel additive does really help things out. In the winter months I use a product: Power Service Diesel Fuel Supplement+Cetane Boost to winterize the diesel and keep it from gelling and messing up the fuel filter. You could use the stuff you were using and add this in the winter months to help out. I use this and I have not had a problem even in -5 degree F or lower cold. Easy to find. I had to chuckle when you jumped into that pit with 10 ft walls. Also need to be careful with that exposed rebar, many workers have accidentally impaled themselves. Could wreck a good day.

For example, once it gets to 8 feet deep, the 100 meter freestyle swim competition really wasn't that much fun. In addition, we never did find one of the competitors from the 10 meter diving competition into 8 feet of slurry.

    I use Howes and Hotshot Secret. Hotshot Secret seems good for Spring/ Summer/ Fall, Howes has a much lower gelling point in my experience. However, Be careful, my newer truck (2014) starts throwing codes on cheap diesel treatments. I put some Diesel in that was treated Power Service and I had injector issues. Definitely use a biocide in your diesel though. Algae will grow in diesel and ruin injector pumps and injectors.

    I may have told you this already, but years ago my Dad had two John Deere's that had those Long Axles also, and ended up getting one of them caught in the loafing shed, and the only way he was able to get it out was to Burn the axle off with the torch. As he was never going to use the rear wheels set way out. Take Care!!!

    I have always used DieselKleen in all my machines, keeps the injectors clean and keeps the fuel from gelling in the winter months. Never had an issue with clogged injectors since I started using it.
