I do like that it seems to be emotionally sincere, trying to take a very old trope and reminding people "wait, this is actually terrifying", at least in the trailer. Reminds me of the train scene in Venture Bros.
I may be biased for saying this, but i am always up for new Things with Milly Bobby Brown. Also, this one sort of reminds me of the movie "The Princess" from 2022 staring Joey King.
I mean to be fair they literally show the dragon attacking the kingdom and flying ALONSIDE Elodie in the trailer so it's pretty obvious xD (except if this is a flashback)
I suggest you look up the movie "the princess" from 2022. It also involves a princess that has to fight her way out of a situation. I remember enjoying that movie for what it was. Looking forward to seeing this one.

However the bits in the trailer are very true to the book (which was written off an earlier draft of the screenplay, but stands as a book in It’s own right. It was not what I expected. I enjoyed it.
Just watched it and it was really good imo, wish the trailer showed less cuz I went in sorta knowing what was gonna happen, but still a really good movie.
This looks so cinematic! Would be amazing in a movie theatre😭but i will for sure be checking it out on Netflix. Millie honestly is great in everything she does.. and this looks really good
like 90% of movie trailers today, doesn't mean the movie won't be interesting after all you can still enjoy watching a movie you've already seen many time and know every seconds of it

This feels like one of those movies that has a bomb ass trailer and then the movie ends up sucking. I hope I’m wrong, but it just kind of feels that way .
I would like a film to explore how those given up as a sacrifice or payment to a monster or false god ended up surviving & getting revenge or proving the village/kingdom wrong .... but the direct "lefts flip the narrative and the damsel is the hero!" makes it just feel cheap. Like Snow White where it took the "mistake" of the huntsman to let her go to be the catalyst of her survival showing outside factors are still at play & ever changing vs the damsel doing everything magically alone & having what appears (because they give away nearly everything in the film) zero help or possibly magically taming a dragon in perfectly ripped yet styled rags just feels like a desperate attempt at a "see! gotcha! girl power!" that as a female myself is fake & the opposite of intriguing.
