I think she thought she was going to spin a few sad stories and would walk out with a small slap on the wrist and a whole bunch of pity. She picked the wrong Judge though!!!! 😂😂
She played the abused woman card..along with the single mama, kid in juvie, PTSD and just plain pitiful card..... Judge Boyd is actually doing her a favor in the long run. Love this judge.

obviously the difference is i had these experiences as a child. my guess is the drugs stunted her development. she's very immature - no impulse control either.

Also, the comment about dating choices and going back to abuser, there is a cycle of abuse that without intervention is difficult to break, the judge was making nasty judgmental comments that are offending, the dynamics of domestic abuse is rarely understood. This woman has a addiction problem, that’s the focus and the judges others commentary undermines her professionalism.

Judge is right, I was a heroin addict from 14-19 and I could bullsh#% anyone into feeling sorry for me, even a lot of cops. Now I been clean 20 long ass years but then I gave up when I got pregnant, I hope this woman changes for her child, I remember hanging with older junkies, some had kids taken by the government, others had them around while we were drugged up and they had dirty nappies, no clothes or shoes etc. No kid deserves that.

I love that Judge Boyd offers addicts possibilities to go to treatment and continues to send parents to parenting classes. I don't know anything about the quality of the treatments the court can offer, but it is much better than no treatment at all. She is very impressive; she is such a good role model!

"I have a year and a half of college...I have two master's degrees." That statement alone proves the point.
I once had a co-worker that was an addict and told complicated "I'm the victim" or "I am the good girl" stories like this. Giving her the benefit of the doubt, it took us a few weeks to figure it out, but as time went on the lies became more obvious.
We were clueless, because none of us had been around someone like that before, and probably missed red flags that someone else would have seen in the beginning.
Painful as it is to watch a show like this, it is educational.

It is so tragic because there are so many people who are addicted and desperate for in-patient treatment but they are not in felony court so they languish on wait-lists, while this type of person gives up the chance to get well and unaddicted when everyone in her family, her son, lawyers and a judge try to help her. Horrible.Lots of addicts do not commit crimes. They have to pay for their treatment and cannot afford to do so. This case really angers me.
