I had this game on both SNES and SEGA Genesis. I liked the SEGA version more so I traded my SNES copy to my friend Scott, for some Magic The Gathering cards that I wanted more at the time. I do have to give proper respect to the SNES player in this video for playing the game right. Running attacks, jumping attacks, thunderclaps, and reverting into Banner at key points. The SEGA longplay video that I watched the player just punched his way as Hulk throughout the entire game, it was boring to watch.
0:05 - 0:14 has always been fucking scary as hell especially when your alone, it's dark and it's quiet and you have the TV really loud. This game is not easy too.
I always felt a bit scared when I was a kid playing some of these games at night, even if the game itself was not scary, but the sound effects and songs sometimes were so creepy. And when they showed just still images with no background music, that bugged me too. Maybe because as kids we knew we were not supposed to play these games at night, and thats why it made us feel that way
For a licensed game, this is way better than the likes of Data East’s Avengers or Wolverine Adamantium Rage. My only complaint has always been the music. Don’t get me wrong, the music is awesome, but nothing in this game sounds even slightly close to what comes to mind when you think about the Hulk. And is Tyrannus’ theme Dub Reggae?
I remember reading the manual front to back on this game, trying to find some tip on why I was so bad at this game. Apparently there's TON of hidden moves and mechanics the manual simply refuses to tell you, based on this longplay
They did a powerhouse super hero pretty well for the given level of technology. Side scroller but it’s still pretty convincing Hulk was Hulk. Unlike some side scrollers that just seem like another generic Mario style superhero game with hulk skin. This hulk smashes and feels like the hulk. I would’ve been sold back then.
Playing this game reminds me of being frustrated that most of my friends and cousins had a Playstation and I was still stuck on Snes playing this game and NBA Live 97 smh (This was early 1997) 😂😂 But......June 1997 my parents FINALLY bought me a next generation console, it was the N64 and I was VERY was satisfied 🎉🎉🎉

i'm not sure but i think you first must get that pill then you press L or R , you can get the pill going down the ledder and going to the left like he did at the beggining of the first level .
That's gotta be the shittiest game mechanic, you have to find a hidden pill to gain the ability to run....but what do you expect from a game with that ending, WTF!

The special moves are what made this game fun to play, and more importantly they are the moves Hulk actually uses in the comics. Just punching Your way throughout this game will save time for sure, at the expense of being boring and lame.
All of my WTF goes into this "final boss fight" I never understood how a game like this with progressive bosses could end with a single uppercut and zero attack or defense from the boss
When it first came out I liked it and thought it was so cool, but it just lacked so much effort....a'll that detail and smashing, yet you can only do 2 moves. Like death and return of Superman, it gets repetitive and old. I got bored as an adult with it. I live super nintendo though. I still play sunset riders, turtles, Mario Kart and the star wars games.
He can run only in "Hulk Out" mode, on SNES it's one of the shoulder buttons (L/ R). Note that in the Sega version running is much trickier and requires a MK-like button combination (Forward, Forward, C, Hold forward)

True! The music in the SNES version is very muffled. While the Mega Drive/Sega Genesis has a more stereo sound. Not to mention that horrible cut when you just defeat the boss and pass the level. The screen simply freezes for a few seconds. It seems like the game has crashed. The Mega Drive works better. You defeat the boss and a little song plays showing that you have passed the level.

One of the best games of the Hulk you can be Banner and you can be Hulk as well in a beat em game.

These superhero games on SNES/MD were all so similar. You could replace Hulk with Spiderman, Batman, Superman, Wolverine..

I have to say, this game looks good. Very good as a matter of fact. The graphics, story, and level design is very impressive to me.

It's not that you need a pill to be able to run, you need a certain amount of health before you're able to use some moves.
