Very nice set-up! I have just about everything you have shown here. I just have to put it all together. You gave me some great ideas. Thank you for sharing this. I’m always trying to improve my quick brew kits to keep in my vehicle for those impromptu hot drinks on the road. I’ve also thrown in some chicken soup mixes as well if I’m not in the mood for coffee or tea. I never thought about putting in that little wood stove. I modified mine to take the Trangia burner, so that will do the trick. Cheers😊
Definitely a great kit for carrying in a vehicle. Good for a quick brew or if you get stranded like from a blizzard, flood, etc. I'd carry a bottle or two of yellow HEAT, and some food for survival.
Kinda crazy how much stuff you managed to fit into your kit. I used to have a similar setup that I had put together myself, but have since moved away from the bottle setups for a more cookable kit for my breakfast/coffee hikes.
I have had my pathfinder bottle cook set for a couple years now. Love it. I have several pieces of Pathfinder gear I use depending on my adventure. I found it funny my kit was just about like yours. Only real difference is you using the “trivets. Pathfinder makes a x brace for its alcohol stove that works just like your home made version. Except you don’t need to put it the alcohol stove in the steel stove sleeve. Perfect kit. And Pathfinder makes all their stuff too notch and prices for the everyday man. And no I’m not affiliated with them. I just have used and believe in the goods.
Agreed they sell good quality stuff and I like Dave's philosophy. I use the stove because it give wind protection and in cold weather helps keep the burner warm so it preforms better.
Trivet is a term used for various things in camping. Anything that a hot pan can sit on is sometimes called a trivet. The rods that come with twig stoves are also called trivets. Soft pliable plastic that can be used to pick up a hot pan is also called a trivet
